Jared Padalecki is yet another unlucky visitor to "House of Wax."
The Warner Bros. Pictures/Village Roadshow Pictures project is a remake of the 1953 classic Vincent Price film, which centered on a mad professor (Price) who cuts down on the cost of rebuilding his wax museum after a fire by using real humans covered with wax.
The update will pit a group of teens against twisted murderers who encase their victims in wax. The teens become stranded in a small town and can only turn to a creepy gas station owner for help. The 21-year-old Padalecki will portray the love interest to Elisha Cuthbert's character, joining Paris Hilton and Chad Michael Murray as one of the hapless teens, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Freshman director Jaume Serra will film the project in Australia in May.
Padalecki, known for playing nice guy Dean on the WB's "Gilmore Girls," recently wrapped shooting Fox's "Flight of the Phoenix" and will appear opposite Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen in "New York Minute," which opens Friday, May 7.
