The subconscious is a very powerful thing, that many people forget about. I think that it can really have more weight on decisions and actions than people would care to admit. I agree there. I don't know how I feel about religion. I don't really get into the whole "organized religion" thing but I think that whole topic is very personal one, one that I don't discuss with many. Kind of like politics! I think that there is definitely good and that good needs to be focused upon more often than it is. I think that people definitely have a choice - and that choice is a powerful thing. I think people, too often, don't value that choice that they have, as well, underestimate the power of choice and their choice. That's just my humble opinion on a few things... Haven't been around this thread for awhile - have a lot to catch up on. I miss it though, I really enjoy this thread! I hope that everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!! The holidays...are an interesting time of the year! Take care~

I don't believe in god or destiny. I believe people don't get their subconcious mind nearly enough credit. I feel real strongly against religion. More often than not, people just use it as an excuse for bad or judgemental behaivour.
I agree with you, I'm a non believer also...

Mela! I know! I'm engaged! Can you believe it?!?!? Yes, it's the guy that I told you about back in November. He's such a sweet and honest guy. I love him so much. (I should if I'm going to marry him. HA HA. ) We set a date - June 7, 2008. I'm going to try and post here some updates of my wedding planning. It should be fun! 1st off, WOW...haven't been here since June 30th! so, I hope you all don't mind, I still don't have enough time to read though page 720-770...its only 50 pages, so I would, but I would have so many comments, lol because I tend to comment a lot. 2nd, I belive in destiny. I belive that everything happens for a reason. Wow, I summed that up short and sweet normally i go on and on, sort of like I am doing now. haha 3rd. now is my response to the quote: that is so awesome! I'm glad he's a great guy! You deserve it! Have you told him about the org? I remember you not wanting to scare him off at first, but now that you are engaged....haha. I'm so happy for you!!! YAY! ooh, June 7th cool, my parents anniversary is june 8th. random fact. haha. well I hope you both are doing great!!!! 4th, hi everyone else. sorry to just randomly pop in like this. I want to make my 'appearances' more frequant, lets hope school/friends will allow that. I miss being here! Well have fun!! and a great weekend all!

Both of you wrote wonderful comments, but i wanted to ask you what do you mean by saying "subconscious".. I mean how can you give a credit to something you can not control on? how can you know what happen in your subconscious? it's subconscious, literally.. I would like to realize what have you meant

I was just meaning that I don't think people give much thought to the subconscious. I don't think that people really ever think about how much power that the subconscious has, even though you can't control it. It can have control over you. That sounds totally sci-fi, sorry. It's hard to explain, perhaps Kate can chime in!

I meant that, as in your example, when you crossed the street when there was no car there. Your subconsious probably noticed the car was say, 4 seconds away, and you could cross the road in 3, so told you to go ahead and cross. So while you think you didn't pay any attention and it was 'god' who made you get across safely, more than likey your subconcious had figured out that it was safe.

Plus, I don't believe that there is a god because there is way too much random suffering in the world. At least, if there is a god, hes a c**t and doesn't deserve to be worshipped.

Ok this is your belief... i agree with you there is a lot of suffering in the world. (or what can we do to 'create' a better world?) I'll ask you one thing i have seen in a movie; do you think (and i turn this question to you all) there is must to be 'good' and 'evil' in the world? i mean if we had not have suffering in the world- would we have compassion for others? (sorry if my grammar is not so good..)

No. We do not need good and evil. We could all just sit somewhere in the middle. I hardly think that it's fair to allow millions of people to suffer, just so that a few can learn compassion. Human lives are more than learning tools for others.

Hi.
Well. Good and Evil? No, not necessarily needed. Love and compassion is something instilled in us through belief. Why must people suffer for others to realize their postivies? Ugh. I can't put it into words today, that sounds like a mush of hodgepoge.

Love and compassion are already instilled into us by being human. That is what makes us innatley human, differs us from other species. Well, one of the things. We don't need cancer, and starvation, and abuse and war to teach us that.
