WOW, so there's 80 zillion posts to read!

I am a new Gilmore fan, my 11 year old daughter caught some reruns, and asked me to buy her the seasons, so I bought them all (she is spoiled, only child...sue me).

She, within 3 months, watched all 7 seasons.  I decided to sit down with her, starting at episode one, and watch the whole series.  What an amazing show.  I truly thought I'd be doing this and then I could force her to watch The Matrix or Lord of the Rings 8 million times.  But this show has been a wonderful bonding time for us, and how can you not love this show?

Anyway, nice board you have here!

i remember starting the series around age 11... which was like... 5 years ago... wow that feels a lot shorter then 5 years... lol

GLSteveW ~ Welcome.  It is really great to hear another mother/daughter bonding over Gilmore Girls.  My daughters and I watched most of the shows together.  We didn't get into the show until it was halfway through the fifth season but only watched one show and then we bought all of the seasons we could at the time and started with the pilot.  By the time we finished season 4, season 5 started in reruns and then we went right into season 6.  My daughters are older, in there 20's now and my youngest and I have a Lorelai and Rory type relationship that is really great.  Did you ever get your daughter into watching The Matrix or Lord of the Rings 8 million times?   We have watched the Lord of the Rings movies many times.

Opps, my bad .  I actually wondered if you might be a dad by the 'Steve', but wasn't sure.    I guess that I should say then that it is great to have a dad/daughter bonding over Gilmore Girls.    I really think that that is even more amazing.  My husband watches the show with me now since he is getting home from work earlier.  I think that it might be because he has a thing for Lauren , but he does laugh with it and makes comments during it.  Again, welcome .

I started at age 12! It was the summer after 6th grade (2006) and it was my first summer being home alone during the day so i did a lot of watching tv.  I saw on ABC Family "Gilmore Girls" and it was on after "Full House" which i used to watch. so i remember seeing it and was like whoa this is witty! i like it!  so i started watching it every day at 4 o'clock and if i missed it at 4 i would wake up early to watch it at 10 the next morning.  soon i was hooked like lorelai was to coffee. It helped me make a new friend (whom i kinda hate now but whatever).  In seventh grade at my new school after summer had ended, we had to write papers introducing our fellow classmates and i got paired with this girl who liked gilmore girls.  So when we were interviewing each other i asked wat her fave show was and she said gilmore girls and she started naming the characters, but she forgot some so i started naming them off. she was amazed.  hard as it is being a guy who likes a "girly" show like GG, i made her swear not to tell people.  she didn't say anything.  for about a week. then she just started running her fat mouth. rawr.  but now i dont really have trouble telling anyone i like Gilmore Girls.  its a great show. who cares.

I am AzurePlatina, been a fan since about June and currently up to Series 6.  Really good show, but you all know that already .

Let's see ... a bit about myself.  I'm male.  Often, my show tastes are action shows and Japanese Anime, while I am starting to get into House MD.  But GG is my one show in the Drama/female genre.  I actually have a one-shot of GG completed and wondering where on the forum I can post it, and I have some other projects in the works.  Also thinking about starting a GG website.

Hi, I'm...reintroducing myself!

I'm Fiona, I'm from a small, very strange town in the middle of rural New Zealand. We've been on the news twice this year, the first in August because we got hit with hurricane-force winds and people had no power for three days, the second time was for a train derailment. Life is fun, anyway! I'm into my last year at high school, actually, my last three days at high school, I graduate on the 12th of November, exams finish the 29th and it's terrifying! My life currently revolves around pretending to study and my increasingly collection of animals, now totalling two horses, two slightly feral Highland heifers, two dogs, four cats and a motley collection of roosters and hens.

Ah..I've been a GG fan for years, I lost count a little while ago, but I think it started in season 3. Thankfully, my mum is also obsessed with it, so there's been quite a few Gilmore Girls marathons. Uh..other show tastes include pretty much anything, but currently, The X-Files (for Mulder and Scully), Bones and Criminal Minds. And M*A*S*H. I adore books and my collection seems to be expanding faster than my collection of bookcases so I'm competing for floor space with it. I think that's about it?

I have watched Gilmore Girls for years now really, just never joined a forum until now. I have all the dvd's and seen them numerous times now, still enjoy it just as much.
Gilmore Girls has meant a lot to me, I mean I've gotten my musical education from this show, not to mention inspiration to start reading books.

ggAddict321 ~ That is really cool about the paper you had to write and that because of it you found someone who enjoys Gilmore Girls as much as you.  There are a lot of us GG fans out there.

AzurePlatina ~ Always nice to have more guys here who enjoy the show.  Wow, already into season six just since June. You have really been going thru the episodes at a pretty good clip.

Fiona ~ Wow, Nov. 12th is going to be a big day for you.  Congratulations in advance.  Very small, very strange town.  haha.  You will have to let us know what makes your little town so strange.   I hope that your town gets to be on the news for something good instead of hurricane-force winds and train derailments.  Sounds pretty bad.  I hope that nobody got hurt.  That is some animal collection that you have.  I love to have Gilmore Girls Marithons, too.  I also have Lauren Graham Marathons with all of her movies and tv shows that she has been on.  I know what you mean about the book collection taking over.  I am always adding more books to my collection and I already have so many bookcases with the books two deep where possible.

Livi ~ Gilmore Girls has sparked an interest in different music artists, books, and movies through the years for me as well.
