Heh!  Great topic Rupe.  I love it and I have a few answers ready to go.

Preschool years:

Cartoon:

Family shows:

And oh so many more, but I thought I'd better stop there for now ;D.  I guess being a tv addict started very early for me.

Ooh! This is a game that is up my alley!

Who could forget Sooty and Sweep...and Sue wherever she is...

I tried to find a picture of fat cat (controversial character who doesnt wear pants) and while I didnt find him I found these disturbing images

I cant believe the last one is a domestic cat!!!!!!!

Another show I couldnt find any images from is an old BBC show which changed names with each series but it was always 'T-Bag and the...pearls of wisdom/some other magical object thingy... I remember looking it up online ages ago and there is a petition to get it on DVD but that is going nowhere.

Sweet Valley High

Gumby

Babar

Puddle Lane

Alf

Thomas

Some others were Super Ted, a-mazing, its a knockout... then in later years, Dawsons Creek, The Pretender...

Thanks for letting me play!!!

I rember Sweet Valley and Dawsons!! oh, and agbout the 'fat cat' pics, that last one is a well known fake. The guy sent it as a joke to someoene he knew, and it got spread round the net. /HE later admittted it. And a bunch of people copied his idea, which probably accounts for the other pics, so don't worry too much :D

Is Fat Cat a little yellow dude? Uh. My Aunt has a stuffed cat she got when she was a baby, and its called Fat Cat. Could we be reffering to the same hairball? Hah. Phew. I'm a tad crazy today.

(Hii everyone!)

Take my hand and drag me head first, fearless.

are you sure you are not talking about, or thinking of "Top Cat"?  He is pretty funny, and the way he talks cracks me up every time!

No, Fat Cat was an Australian character who was apparently taken off air because he doesnt wear any pants but I think thats bull because Humphrey B Bear (see below) is still on tv and he doesnt wear any pants either. If thats the case I think Barney should go cuz that dude is butt nekid!

Hey I found Fat Cat!!!!

Heh!  Fat Cat is wearing pants there B!  I'm thinking that it was just maybe brought off air because he was sick of being a mime.

On that point were you ever a fan of Marty Monster B?  For all those non-Autralian viewers, Marty Monster was another guy in a suit, but he could talk.  And he used to take the piss out of all those other poor sods dressed up in big suits that had no voice :D  Quite funny some of the time.

OH!  I wanna play.   Good idea Rupe!  How fun.  BTW - I'm loving the Daria/Trent Lane reference in your avi.  :hearts:  Like my friend Caryn, there are many more . . . but this is just the beginning.

Cartoons:

Here he comes, here comes -

Casper the Friendly Ghost

The Flintstones

The Jetsons

Family shows:

This one's also a fave of Amy Sherman-Palladino . . .

I just couldn't skip the trailblazer for syndication . . .

And, ummmm, is it bad that I caught SNL on a regular basis as a six-year-old because my teenage brothers babysat me a lot?   :-\

Caryn ~ is that Josie and the Pussycats I see on your list?  I loved that!  And B ~ yay for Sweet Valley High!

Here are a few shows I used to watch (and sometimes still do)...I'm not old enough to remember most of them, but I used to watch them all the time! (Like the Jetson...I wasn't alive in the 60s...but hey, it's still fun to watch 30 years later)

Peewee's Playhouse

Dinosaurs

Bananas in Pajamas

I used to watch all those 90s shows when I was little. I also like Sherri Lewis and Lambchop :)

Unlike a lot of posts in the forum (for some reason) I am a guy and am not really shy about when it comes to me liking Gilmore Girls. I voice it regularly, without being too metro about it, and actually like the show for genuine reasons:

It's a modern yet simplistically honest and realistic show.
It has heart and emotions.
It is wholesome and clean.
The characters are great and are incomparable to those in any other show on the air.
It is sophisticated and fun.

I don't fall privy to the Hollywood stereo-typical show of today with over the top drama and emotion that leaves you without hope rather then building you to true happiness. Gilmore Girls proves not only that a show can be honest and down to earth but with it's seven seasons, that people will watch it.

Although it may be worth noting the only people I can talk to about it are the wives of my friends. Ha.
