First, my apologies to anyone associated with Gilmore Girls who is reading this.  I should have written and snail mailed this months ago.  I procrastinated – hoping for that 8th season.

Thanks to the entire Gilmore Girls ensemble for bringing from story to screen 148 + 2   “can’t catch watch just once” episodes to my TV.  Except for the man who has worked at Luke’s for years (does anyone know who he is?), the cast in front of the camera may get the glory.  I’ve been behind the scenes and know it takes everyone behind and in front of the camera to make the families and friends of Stars Hollow come alive.  Thanks especially to whoever is responsible for Luke’s apartment. I have a special fascination for sets and learned a lot about that character from his home.
As a resident of a small town, I think Stars Hollow truly captures our lifestyle. I will miss you all, but I will miss the haps at Luke’s the most.  Warner Brothers will be happy to know I have bought the DVDs so I can revisit Stars Hollow anytime.  After 7 seasons you know you have done an excellent job.  We are left caring about the Stars Hollow family and wondering what could happen to them in the future - in my case, especially Luke and Lorelei.  They have had a complex relationship since season 1.  It’s hard for me to believe that in 2 episodes they can go from uncomfortable conversation to knowing if they can only be BFF or will have the whole package. And how will Lorelei handle a true empty nest?

My deep thanks also to the wonderful Gilmore Girls fans.  I almost missed being a member of the Gilmore Girls fan club.  During a  2005 surgery recuperation, I discovered the reruns on the Family Channel.   Thanks to your websites, links, clips, episode transcripts, spoilers, messagae boards and insights I learned a lot about the show and deepened my enjoyment.

As my favorite shows leave the air, I replace that time with reading.  As Gilmore Girls fans, you might enjoy the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich

Dedicated to Those Who Worked with Gilmore Girls!
« Reply #32 on: May 06, 2007, 10:29:15 pm »
I think this is a needed topic. Here I think we should display all of our heartfilled thanks to all of those who have worked in/with Gilmore Girls! Photos, videos, poems, and anything else is welcomed here! I'll start....

Thank-you so much to- Amy Sherman Palladino and Dan Palladino for creating such loveable characters whom shall forever stay in our hearts. From Lorelai to Rory, to Luke, to Emily and Richard, and to everybody in Stars Hollow. Thank-you for creating a show full of intellegence, witt, and romance. A blend for most ages and both genders.

Thank-you to- Lauren Graham for being so involved in the show over the past couple of years. You have poured your heart and soul into Gilmore Girls and it wouldn't have been the same without you! Even with the bumpy ride in Season 7, your determination to bring the show through to the end has brought this season into the light again. Thank-you for being a mentor to Alexis and teaching her finer points of acting so she could become a stronger actress. Thank-you for putting that chemistry in between you and Scott so it shows through to the camera. Lorelai and Luke wouldn't be who they are together without you doing that for them. Thank-you for all that you have done for us! We wish you well on whatever comes your way!

Thank-you to Alexis Bledel- for reaching outside of your comfort zone to bring Rory to life. Nobody else would've been able to match up with Lauren Graham better than you have. We have grown up along side of you and we wish you the best in your career, whatever paths you may choose.

Thank-you to Scott Peterson- for wanting the part of Luke so bad and making it your own character! Luke wouldn't have been as fun to watch get rilled up if played by someone else. I have been rooting for Luke all along and he has had his moments where he seemed to be lost but now at the end, he is the same big softy we've known and loved! Thanks for all the little facial expressions that really adds to the scenes. We hope you the best!

Thank-you to Venessa- for coming into such a tough role as April and making the character more bareble to deal with considering her part in the storyline. The way you delivered lines and made light of situations through her, lightened up the darkish area that was created between Luke and Lorelai. I love how your character has evolved and grown mature so much in only a year that we have also grown to love her. Thank-you for all your time and effort helping us with the Great 8 Mandate, we couldn't have made so much progress without you!

Thank-you to David Rosenthdale- for taking the hard reigns after ASP left. You knew it would be a daunting task and yet you took it. Even though fans may not agree with the direction in which the storyline was taken, it did end up in a good place towards the end. You definately made it clear that Lorelai's flings with Christopher are now officially over. Rory is now trying to make her way into the Real World as a journalist. Lorelai and Luke are now friends again but we all know it will go beyond that because they are meant to be together.

All of you have given me this breath of fresh air everytime something bad happens in my laugh and more of a reason to smile when good things have happened. I had something else to watch on Tuesday Nights instead of America Idol (which besides the auditions, I hate it).

:D ;) 8) :P :-* :coffee: :hearts: :cd: :cellphone: :blowkiss:  :highfive: :smitten: :celebrate: :tv: :bam: :clover: :world:

I am sooooo sad...I'm sure you all heard my screaming on Friday when I found out.... :o
(as many of you were doing the same)... awww...what are we gonna do now??? I can't believe it's over....

I actually read a quote from Lauren Graham, that they weren't going to be ending the show with any weddings, that the whole show is about the mother/daughter relationship, and that's how it will end....we will just have to believe that Luke and Loreli would have ended up together....

So long my fellow girlmore girl lovers!!!

In the past 10mnths i have really gotten into the show and have managed to get caught up and have seen every episode.

I never had any intentions of watching it before but it all started when i was sick and couldn't leave my room. At that point I really got into the show and continued to watch it everyday after that.

Sadly for me its ending way tooo soon. Its turned into my favorite show and I will be heartbroken when I watch the last episode...i won't even get to see it until a week after it airs since i will be on vacation but I will be thinking of each and every Gilmore fan that night knowing that I am missing out on the Season Finale of my newest favorite show. :'( :-\

Something must be done...maybe it is just a 7th heaven moment...

Unless in 1 hour they can have: Luke marry Lorelei, Lorelei have another baby (the twins from the dream), Logan and Rory break up, Rory get a job at the New York Times, Jess comes back and gets married to Rory and they have a daughter named "Lorelei", Emily apoligizes to Lorelei for giving her hell her whole life, and Taylor gets elected as President of the United States, then it will not be a fullfilling ending.....................Gilmore Girls Forever..........................

TOTALLY!! If only.......!That would be a great way to end the show!!!

I am in a similar position to royalschick2910 because although my sister discovered Gilmore Girls about 3years ago I only just got into it last June when I was ill and I found my sister's DVDs of season2 so I watched them, then watched season1 DVDs and then my sister bought season3 i watched that became totally addicted and I saw season4 and 5 on tv and have downloaded season6 and 7 (being a UK fan) and it has been a short moment of heaven watching Gilmore Girls and it has never ceased to cheer me up after a bad day at school.
May 15th will be a sad day for many but hopefully we all try to look on the brightside and still come on here regularly to talk about the show we all have grown to love.

I read an article in The Week this morning about Joshua Bell. He took his violin to a transit station in DC and played Bach's Chaconne for the commuters.

The results were strange. Almost no one stopped to listen. Even though one of the world's greatest violinists was playing one of the world's most difficult and emotional pieces, barely anyone noticed.

It kind of reminded me of GG, and how I ignored the show for so long because I was thinking "teen drama" and "WB trash" and "just like Party of Five." I'm not saying I'll give every TV show I hear about a chance from now on, but I'm glad that chance kept me from missing such a potent, artistic and relevant work. I've never anticipated seeing a show like this on prime time, too dramatic for a sitcom and too joyful and feminine for a drama.

Maybe I've dismissed too much television as worthless and I just don't know what I'm missing. But I've looked over my standapart all time favorite shows ever, and with the exception of Sci-Fi, ASP or Lauren Graham were involved in all of them. Coincidence?

The point of the article about Josh Bell was that poetry in music is built into us, and that arbitrarily choosing the rhythm of our schedule is what takes that from us. But I believe there are other things, female and family struggles that are common to us all, and the Gilmore Girls has tapped into that river of life to produce a new language based on concepts that are as intrinsic to our collective nature as the desire to laugh at sorrow.

Gilmore girls isn't like other TV. It is a whole work where other shows are just a single comedic element couched in a conducive setting. Every creative outlet is exhausted in every episode and it all connects so closely that the few continuity errors are glaringly obvious. I've compared it to Shakespeare, but I think in this respect it is Tolkeinesque. Stars Hollow is a a real place in ASP's mind, and Lorelai and Rory are real people. It's almost as though ASP didn't make them, like she's been there and met them and is describing it all to us from a memory.

Anyway, I'm glad I didn't pass it over forever just because it was a WB show. I would have kicked myself if I'd passed Josh Bell up at the subway station, too.

Wow lessa your post is amazing. Thanks for your words and thoughts.  I loved the line about ASP being in that real place and telling the story she lived like a vivid memory.

i kinda had a bad omen about this back in feb when i went to see music and lyrics with my cousins.
there was one point where these tv execs were trying to sell their show "battle of the 80s has-beens" to hugh grant's character, and they were showing him the promo commercial and it said coming tuesdays at 8 on the cw

and yeah, i screamed right there in the theater.

and now it's true.  :'(
what are we going to do with our tuesdays?
