Yeah, you're right, WO.  Max and Lorelai definitely had chemistry.  More chemistry than Lorelai did with Jason and Christopher, in my opinion.

What was the episode where Lorelai and Max see each other at Rory's school after he'd come back, he tries to tell her he's over her, then they kiss, there's this long pause, and then he says, "And apparently I'm not over it."  I just felt so bad for him!

Yeah or when Rory was away and Lane walked in on them..at it on the stairs. Ya haven't seen a scene like that ever again.

Very true.  I hate to say this, because I fear the large number of JJs on this site (myself included), but...I think Max and Lorelai had more physical, sexual energy than Luke and Lorelai.  No, I don't want Max to come back and win Lorelai's heart from Luke, or some other crazy crap like that, but I really enjoyed their relationship.  I was sad when he left, especially since Lorelai completely screwed him over.

That's from The Big One, somewhere towards the beginning of season 3. 

I am so surprised at all the people at this thread, especially all the avid JJs (like myself).  I was always terrified to admit to liking Max, well I guess it wouldn't be as bad as admitting to like Jason (ew).

Thanks, Amanda!  I knew that was from season 3, just couldn't remember what episode. I might have to watch that one again. 

And your other comment was hilarious.  Apparently the secret's out about the Max lovers!  I really didn't think there would be that many posts on this thread either, but I guess everyone's feeling more free to "come out of the closet" now.  Hehe.

I completely agree, HumanCoffeePot.  I too think they had the best chemistry, but I was too chicken to say that outright.  (You'll notice in an earlier post I limited my comparison to Christopher and Jason.)  Kudos to you for just saying it like it is!  And yeah, I don't want them to get back together either, but if Lorelai hadn't ended up with Luke, I would have been cool with her ending up with Max.

It's nice not to be the only one who likes Max. But he was just a lovable character. And I was so happy when he returned in season 3.

Jason...cute?  Blech!  I liked him as a character, but not with Lorelai.  He was sharp, though.  Had the same weird sense of humor as the show itself.

I'm watching the rerun of Deer Hunters on ABC Family right now, and Max and Lorelai had great chemisry right from the start. 

And question didn't when Lorelai tried thet coffee at the parent teacher conferences she said something like "Jesus, Mary, and Joseph on a camel" or something like that.  Because if she did they edited out on ABC Family.

I liked Max too! He was sweet and cared for Lorelai and Rory a lot. But they did have good chemistry!
When he sends the 1000 yellow dasies! *sigh* that was one of my favorite episodes!

It was a really beautiful picture with Lorelai sitting in between all those daisies. And their phone call. It was really romantic.
