Umm, okay, I don't do this for a living or anything, I don't know all the practical concerns
Nevermind, here it is.
When picking a charity, we have to consider that the org's fundraising potential is unpredictable in the first year. I don't doubt the enthusiasm of the org, we just need to know if an indefinite project is realistic. Limiting the contribution to a single or yearly donation for the time being allows a finite target and a flexible deadline.
We could also raise funds in the the org's or the charity's name, but we'd have to make our own posters and stickers. Or come up with sponsor packages.
Plus, that may involve filling out a form and registering somewhere, I'd have to look it up. We could also ask the fundraising office of whichever charity we hope to sponsor.
So the first two orders of business are to nominate some charities to vote for, and to generate enthusiasm.
A good nomination is the name of a charity, what you know about it, and why you think it's a good pick. Maybe it's a cast member's favorite, making them a possible contributor. Maybe it's a charity you already collect funds for or already had plans to pledge. Or even if you know an organization personally that's in need of help. Just throw it out there, what's your favorite charity?
We can generate enthusiasm the usual way - banner graphics, slogans, and clever jingles with org-related lyrics to the tune of popular songs.
"From the people who brought you the Gr8 Mandate, it's the Gr8er Mandate!" Eh? Eh? Mmm, it's a work in progress, obviously.
Anyway, it's just a few things I thought might help get things started. I can't send much, but I pledge my lunch money to whatever the Gr8er Mandate develops into.
