The Viewing Party - Season 4 Episode 5
The Fundamental Things Apply
Official viewing time: Tuesday, March 17th, 2009
(8pm Org time, or the equivalent in your US time zone.  Internationals please view it at your earliest convenience)

Summary: Rory (Alexis Bledel) goes on her first date since breaking up with Jess and finds that college dating is not going to be easy. Lorelai (Lauren Graham) invites Luke (Scott Patterson) over for the traditional movie night she used to share with Rory. Meanwhile, Lorelai freaks out when she learns that the designer she just hired for the Dragonfly Inn used to work for Emily (Kelly Bishop).

As you may well notice this week we have a wonderful :D graphic courtesy of lessa.    Thanks a bunch lessa.  We are now accepting entries for the Season 4, episode 6 - An Affair to Remember.  Emily hires Lorelai and Sookie to cater her latest function.

Happy viewing guys and gals and we'll see you in the episode thread.

Original post starts here:

A Gilmore Revisiting - The Viewing Party
(Bringing Tuesdays Back!)

For seven wonderful seasons we have lived and loved Lorelai and Rory and all things Gilmore.  We shared in the highs and lows, the laughter and tears, and became completely consumed with the quirky town of Stars Hollow and its characters and festivals.  But now, sadly, the world of TV entertainment is lacking a little for us.

:star: :star: :star: :star: That's why we are Bringing Tuesdays Back!!! :star: :star: :star: :star:

Starting August 21st we are going back to where it all began.  Back to the very beginning to do it all again.  Join us as we revisit each episode, one per week, to revel in the witty dialogue once more.  And then head on over to the corresponding episode thread to discuss it in detail.  Watching the series over again, knowing how it all ends, will allow us to explore things in further detail.  Will we feel the same?  Will we feel differently?  Will we still cherish the same scenes, or has time and space from these episodes allowed us to see them from a completely different perspective?   Come and explore it with us and help keep Gilmore Girls alive.

What do you need to do?
Well, just watch the episode of the week on your dvd when it’s scheduled and then come and discuss it in the corresponding episode thread.  Keep your eye on this first post for the schedule, which will be updated regularly, and most of all enjoy

Schedule:
Tuesday Feb 10th                       4.04 - Chicken or Beef
Tuesday Mar 17th                       4.05 - The Fundamental Things Apply
Tuesday Mar 24th                       4.06 - An Affair to Remember

:star: :star: :star: Calling all graphics makers! :star: :star: :star:
We thought it would be fun to have any interested ORG graphic makers create a visual representation of each week's episode!  Since there are so many episodes, it would be fun to see the various talents that our members possess.  So - if you're interested, please participate!   The more the merrier!  Unfortunately, we won't be able to use everyone's graphics each week but there is a new chance to enter with each episode!  So please take heart and keep submitting those amazing graphics.

To continue our exciting journey, we need a graphic representing "An Affair to Remember" by 8pm ORG time on Mar 22nd.

I have a question about the art:

Do we make like a whole bunch of things, or  1 sig that represents something from the epsiode?

Ugh!  As much fun as this sounds, my friend and I are already doing this, but we're following the original schedule, just a day earlier.  i.e. we start Thursday, October 4 and follow all of the hiatuses and watch the episodes as close to the original air dates as we can.

But I reallly really wish I could do this one too... :(

Edited to convey my wishfulness (not a word) that I could follow it with all of you.

Hi!  Great question!!!  We're looking for 1 sig-like graphic that represents something from the episode. The reason I say "sig-like" is because it doesn't necessarily have to be the same dimensions as most sigs are here on the ORG - you have some flexibility there.  We hope you participate!

Woo hoo!  :celebrate:  Thanks everyone for your enthusiasm - this is going to be a great project as nothing can be better than reliving our favorite Gilmore moments together.  It's going to be great!   :)

This is a great idea! I'll be sure to participate! Just a suggestion - but could there be a games that go along with each episode? I know we are already going to have a discussion of each episode. But I thought another way to get everyone involved would be like a fill-in-the blank page worksheet or something to go along with the viewing experience. Am I making any sense at all?

Maybe tomorrow I can look at episode one and come up with something. Does anyone want me to do that? It will probably be a rough draft of something...but I could always post it and people could let me know what they think.  :)

Ohmigosh I love this idea!! I'm so in, Caryn. :)

Every now and then I'll watch a random episode (or episodes) from a random season that I just feel like watching at the moment, but I'm loving this project better!

Yay!

Wow, I'm glad to see that there are others feeling the way we did.  I'm elated that you guys are going to join in the fun and help make the Viewing Party a success.

I've got to fly now, but I'll be back to answer the questions asked later.

Also I got your graphic GilmoreAddict7899 - it's fantastic.  And boy were you quick!!!

Don't forget to spread the word about all of this with all your Org buddies.  The more the merrier.

Wow what a fabulous idea Caryn!!  :)  I am loving this because not only will I get to re-watch so many great episodes but I will get the chance to discuss them all over again with such wonderful ORG members.  I think this is a great way to keep the ORG family alive and full of excitement.  Tuesdays will still be a day I look forward too.   :)  I wish I could take part in the graphic making except I have no talent or creativity in that department.  See everyone in the Pilot episode discussion thread on Aug 21st!
