True. I associate the two programs because ofd the wit and rapid, dry, ironic exchanges.
I heard both ASP and DP wanted a two year agreement so that they could devote less of their time to dealing with the network and getting picked up again, and more time to the complicated task of doing 26 (?) hours of quality TV crammed with jokes and different characters. It sounded as if the reason might have been exhaustion, basically. DP talked about their having to oversee everything large or small in GG. He said, half-jokingly maybe, that they couldn't deal with the network over renewal, and still have time to make sure all the knick-knacks at Lorelais' desk at the Inn were in the right places.
