How do you feel about Lorelai and Chris getting back together?

Lorelai and Chris together; YES it’s about time. I’m so watching season 7.
LL apart; well I’ll watch it till they get back together but I won’t be lovin’ it.
LL apart AGAIN; THIS IS IT I’VE HAD IT WITH THIS STUPID SHOW. I don’t care if they fix it later on, they will never fix it with me. I’m boycotting this show.
LL apart; who cares.
LL apart; I won’t be watching GG till the good episodes come back on.

That’s what all the talk on TWoP is about too.

Now, I used that crazy internet people website to figure out the number of episodes MC has been in and it was good to look at the facts of episodes that had already occurred.  There’s a worrisome spoiler over there about R/L definitely breaking up this season…  BUT, isn’t that site known for a lot of foilers usually?  Not to mention they also still list the thought that GG might go on without Alexis as ‘new’ so I don’t think this is reliable AT ALL.  Also, it stated the source is from TWoP but I can’t for the life of me find the post where she states this.   :-[

I've seriously been trying to figure this out for an hour now and I have to get some actual work done  :)  So if anyone feels like trying to figure it out check it out here: http://crazy-internet-people.com/site/gilmoregirls/pages/gens.html.  Otherwise I'll keep trying to figure it out when I get home.

ETA: Rest assured, I e-mailed the webmaster at C-I-P asking if they could clarify or determine a foiler.

But just because they may "break up", doesn't mean that they won't get back together in the next episode....

(Thanks Melissa for the sig)

But, they've already done the break up, make up.  It was so nice, they did it twice!  Honestly, if I had to choose between two utterly unappealing options, I'd take a permanent break up over another temporary one.  That just makes it seem like the solution to any problem that isn't easily solved is to break up until they decide to ignore the problem in the first place.  Or to call any serious fight a break up.  Which just makes them seem like kids.

David Rosenthal, if you're lurking, I do not want Rory and Logan to break up temporarily or permanently.  I was just stating my reluctant preference to two bad options.

I'm totally not getting how people on TWoP are saying the fact that Logan and Rory having a functional relationship was a sign that they were going to break up. Two people express their love, voice their concerns, apologize for their mistakes, and that's foreshadowing of doom?

The word confirmed was part of the spoiler/foiler quote.  That's why it's on C-I-P that way.  The person said that her friend on the set "confirmed Logan and Rory..."

And I think people just think that the functional relationship thing is just the calm before the storm.

I don't like in the preview that babette is questioning if the hen should be with a penguin, ostrich....the hen should be with the rooster.  No more birds or dogs

i actually quite like that conversation with patty/babette/kirk, its back to what GG used to be, quirky towns folk!! it takes away from all the drama

and im sure this has been noticed, but as it says in the credits Lauren Graham has been the producer of the last couple of episodes it seems that GG has got back its original spark, or at least it has got better in my opinion, im really looking forward to next weeks eppy, i just hope it is not a let down!!

I too like the banter between kirk/babette/miss patty.....I just don't want anymore men in the equation...there's alot of funny stuff they could do with luke and lorelai as a couple.

I also agree that since Lauren has been named producer, the show has a better flow.

If Luke and Lorelai are starting to get along in episode 18, there's not much time left for them to really get back together before the end of the season. and if this is the last season then it will be very disappointing!

I think it will be satisfying to know that they are at least together by the last episode if this is indeed the last season. There wouldn't have to be a wedding or even a couple of episodes of them together or anything like that for us to know that they've figuratively rode off into the sunset. I wouldn't want the ultimate reunion to feel rushed, especially since Lorelai's just come to the conclusion that she "jumped" in her marriage with Christopher. I think it would be a big mistake on the part of the writers to show Lorelai "jumping" again back into a relationship with Luke, especially since she told Christopher that Luke was not the complete reason for her and Christopher's marriage breaking up. It would just make Lorelai seem fickle and unsure of her own heart to have broken up her engagement with Luke, gotten married to Christopher then gotten engaged again to Luke in a year. That's a lot of romantic activity for one person -- even J.Lo waited some time between marriages and engagements!

I think that even if the last episode of the show is of Luke and Lorelai kissing, it will be exciting just as it was when he kissed her (finally!) on the night of the test run for the Dragonfly Inn.

Yeah but wouldn't it be nice to finally see a whole season where Luke and Lorelai are together and happy?

Well, if Lauren Graham wants to pursue other career opportunities or Alexis Bledel doesn't want to do another year and Lauren Graham won't do a season without her, then this could very well be the last season. As such, I think people can still get warm and fuzzy in knowing that Luke and Lorelai are finally together without 22 episodes of it.

Or, if this is the last season, the show could opt to do what the show "Mad About You" did for its series finale. It summed up the events of the future through the eyes of the couple's daughter, like how the couple eventually separated but got back together, what happened to Lisa, Ira, and the other characters that were part of the show.

That way we could see clips of a Luke and Lorelai wedding but it wouldn't be like Lorelai breaks up with Christopher, gets divorced, gets back together with Luke, they get re-engaged, and plan a wedding and get married. We could find out how they got married in a year's time and further down the line they had those "jam hands" babies, what Rory is doing, if she's won a Pulitzer or whatever without anything feeling rushed or contrived.

Eh, you all know the big reunion of L/L holds no interest for me, so I'm going to spazz out some more on the possible break up of R/L.  How far ahead in a show can some spoiler source have info for?  I mean, how far ahead do they plot things even if the actual scripts haven't been written?  We have specific spoilers up to episode 18.  Rory and Logan have a fight before then, but they're fine in episode 18 and (although I should check again to confirm) according to others who've read the sides for the episode, they're happy at the end of the episode.  But, is it possible that someone could know what's being planned for episode 19 or 20 (how many episodes in a season) even before episode descriptions or sides or anything comes out?

The tiny imp who wants to tease me with hope brings up 2 points.  Only one person has said they're breaking up.  All other mentions on websites have taken their information from that person.  It's hard to believe that only one person would have a spoiler or that only one person would give out that spoiler.  You'd think someone else would come out and say "yes, it's true.  I was hiding in the closet in DR's office and heard him say he was breaking them up," or something like that.  Second, are there any advanced spoilers for any other characters?  Other people would know better than I would, but has their been any actual news of where the L/L relationship will be after Hay, Bale, Maze?  I don't really believe that Rory and Logan would be considered important enough for news to leak through before Lorelai and Luke.  So, it seems kind of fishy that one person has advanced knowledge on the secondary couple.  And, again, if there is info on L/L that somehow slipped by the professional critics, there's no way John or Jane Doe spoiler source wouldn't be on forums spilling it.

However, on the chance that this spoiler is true (and you know my fears) I fear for the hoops that they'll make Logan jump through to show he's a bad bad boyfriend.  Because the spoiler does say that they break up over his actions.  What we've heard so far is not grounds for a break up.  Not unless Rory is not only judgemental but a hypocrite.  So, will they make him do something even worse?  Ugh.  I really need to stay away from spoilers.  Not that I will.

I wouldn like to see the wedding becuase the whole show has lead up to these two characters dating and getting married so I wouldn't liek it if we didn't get to see the wedding I mena we waiting 7 seasons for it or if there is an 8th season then 8 seasons. I think they would have to show the wedding.

Thanks Laura for the sig!

Well a wedding is out of the question if the show ends this season. It wouldn't be true to the characters or the pace of the show and the storylines to have Lorelai and Luke get married so quickly. The whole wedding would just feel forced and unrealistic and wouldn't justify the L/L relationship. If it does end this season we're going to have to be satisfied with the thought of a future marriage.
