What idiot would put himself in a Fergie video?

Oh Lane and Zach would rant on him for being in a Fergie video and then Rory would give him the kind of speech he gave her when she quit Yale.  Dean and Logan would laugh their butts off.  Luke would smack him upside the head and Lorelai would die laughing.

I don't find Fergie attractive at all.  I don't find any of the Pussycat Dolls attractive.  Is that normal for a dude?

Don't worry, I feel the exact same way.

OH my goodness, that music is terrible.

Ok, I have been doing some research in my music collection, and the closest thing I can find to shoegaze is......(drum roll)..........
Amusement Parks on Fire
Now, many folks have not heard this guy, but he is an amazing guitar player, lots of distortion, songs all blend into one another, some ambient grooves, and it really drives.  Am I any closer to something that is shoegaze?

Kupo - That's awesome!! I love the posters! Huzzah! Celebrate I bet they're in a very special place on your wall somewhere!
How the heck are ya, by the way? Haven't "talked" to you in awhile. Hope all is well!

I'm always amazed when I surprised myself with something that I wouldn't "typically" listen to - it's good, don't get me wrong. I just think "I wouldn't listen to that" but, alas, I am and really enjoying it. For some reason the song "Angels on the Moon" by Thriving Ivory hit me this afternoon and I've been so into it. I also found a band called Damone that has a song I quite like. Other than that, I've been listening to what's 'normal' for me - Sonata Arctica a lot lately. Probably because I just saw them two weekends ago - an amazing show they put on! I need to go through my iPod again and make some changes. Smiley

All is well! Thanks for asking!

Josh Pyke was brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. Such a fun night. Looking forward to buying his new album early October! (Even though I was bad and downloaded the leak already.)

I've been reading a biography about Elliott Smith, and I find it slightly unnerving how much I can relate to the poor guy. There's so much similarities between us there. Absolute tragedy about his death too. So, obviously, I've been listening to Elliott Smith excessively lately. Not that that is a bad thing because the guy is amazing and it's a shame what happened to him.

I've also been getting into The Shins again. Really enjoying 'Wincing The Night Away'...again...

OH, and Red, Yellow & Blue by Born Ruffians. GREAT album.

Oh gosh, how I marvel at the talent Elliott Smith had.
I think that sounds sarcastic.  But it's not.
I love the Shins, too.  I think Chutes Too Narrow is my favorite of their albums.

I admire Elliot Smith and all his creativity and knowledge, his life seemed to be hard but I don't know a ton. He seemed like a good guy though.

What's the name of the biography that you're reading about him, Kupo?

Yeah, that album is great. But I love all their albums each in their own way because they're different from each other, kind of like a progression.

What's the name of the biography that you're reading about him, Kupo?

It's called "Elliott Smith And The Big Nothing". He was such a generous guy, he cared so much. But he just had so many pent up problems and it just all kind of became too much for him, which is horribly sad.

Kupo--Is the book good?

Mostly. There is some stuff not delved into or just not explained very well because of who the author interviewed. But it is very interesting, and it's worth a read if you like his music.
