I really don't see anything wrong with this idea! It's just like 2 gilmore episodes put into one big show! I am so surprised that they are considering this! Surprised...and freaking EXCITED! This sounds perfect to me. The show needed it.

    Thank you so much for giving us 6 wonderful years of the best TV I have ever watched. The Gilmore Girls was my Tuesday nights for the past 7 years. It was such a well made show that I felt like I lived with them for one hour a week. I felt the tension of Luke and Lorelai. I felt the connection of a Mother and Daughter. I felt the hominess of small town life. I loved it all and looked forward to a new show every week. I even loved the re-runs... there was always something new to pick out.
    Now that they have officially canceled the show, I know many people, including myself are rallying for the CW to bring it back, if only for a few episodes to conclude the story the way you saw it end. I want the show to have a REAL ending... your ending.. your last words... I want to see you put your baby to rest the only way it should.
    I am very mad at the CW network, as I am sure you are as well. They have cheated the young women of America the positive influences you as well as the writers of Everwood and 7th Heaven gave them. I felt that you gave them a sense of independence, a sense of strength and a sense of peace. You taught them it was okay to be shy, it was okay to be smart and it was okay to love your Mother. I will miss that every week. I will miss showing this kind of positive TV to my daughter one day.
    If there is anything that we can do to convince you to bring the Girls back we will do it. I would love to see the girls come back in a final chapter. Of course it would be wonderful to see them back on TV, however I know that there is now bad blood between CW and the show. You could try to negotiate with ABC Family. However, bringing the Girls back does not have to be on TV. I would love to see a book written or maybe a Movie? However you bring them back, it would not matter, as long as they get the wonderful infamous finale that they deserve.. that you gave them and that we would love to see.

I was a movie although I think they should go maybe 3 years later and have everyone start to get serious and stuff. I don't think two hours would be enough and I wish they would try to make a season 8 but what are you going to do. Any way thats my two cents, bye

I totally support having a Gilmore girls movie! But only if ALL the characters were in it! But I still wish they would continue with the seasons that would be even better than a movie. But I would still like a mavie! I miss the girls already!!!!

I'm soooo all up for this!!!! I really feel like they could really show what happens with L/L and then Rory. They need to give us a good solid ending. Not a "you can decide for yourself what happens" ending. I mean we all know how crappy the last episode was. It just wasn't fitting of the show we all know and love. AS-P would write the film and it would be awesome because we all love her writing. It would be perfect to end the whole she-bang.

Now I guess they'd have to persuade Alexis because it doesn't sound like she wants to do it at all. And I especially would hate for there to not be the original Rory. I don't think Lauren would do it without her either. So she hopefully will want to do the show by the time they decide whether or not they're going to do it!!!

Other than that! YAY!! Hope it happens!

I'll probably get flamed for this but why is Alexis being such a pain and dragging the show down? She could suck it up and do a movie and make the fans and AS-P happy. I don't know about Lauren's blind loyalty to someone who seems so overly selfish. The Gilmore Girls MADE Alexis and now she just can't wait to fly so far from where she started. It really just ticks me off that all of it seems to be over because of her.
I loved her character. I loved all the characters. These "people" were my reason for living for the last few years on Tuesdays. I sadly didn't get in on it until halfway through season four but then I had a voracious appetite for it, watched all the reruns on ABC Family and got caught up. I'm still watching the reruns every day.
I know it's just a show but look how important these characters are to everyone. They are like family to us all. My daughter even named her baby Lorelai. Sorry I got off topic. I just am so aggravated that Alexis seemed to be the one to rip a season 8 out of our hands.

Okay, I'm done. I hope they do the movie. Even if they have to hogtie her and only let her loose to do her part. It would be awesome to see how Amy wanted it done.

Now I guess I'll wait for Amy's new show to come out on Fox and I'll give it a whirl and see if I can find something else to love.

i'm going to agree with rob on this one... with alexis, it's very hard to know exactly how she feels about something because she is a very private person... i don't think she's taking us the fans or the show for granted i think she's just tired.. their schedule was exhausting and after long negotiations nothing came out of it, that in itself can be frustrating... i just dont feel its right to place so much blame on alexis... hopefully tonight on letterman she'll clear things up...

I have mixed feelings about a movie. I would definitely watch it, but what is really the point? How many loose threads are there? The series finale was beautifully done i thought and left our Girls in a good place. What would be the big whoop about seeing Rory go off on a campaign trail or seeing Luke & Lorelai pursuing their latest fling? And wasn't Amy the one who ditched the show after her dismal season 6? I can understand if Alexis is not totally enthused.

But of course for all my doubts i would be glued to the television if it ever really happened.
