Hmmmm.....it's getting more difficult for me right now to envision any GG episodes/movie with Alexis in it. Seems she really wants to be done with it. I have to keep my hopes up though, that ASP and/or Lauren can talk her into it!
Like I keep saying, in showbiz, due to the amount of passion that it takes to get any project going (producers, writers, directiors, studio heads) or to participate in any project (directors, actors, designers, technicians and other crew), a person is 100% sure about something until they have been given a good enough reason (or think up a good enough reason on their own) to change their minds. And then they're sure 100% in the other direction.
Sure, Alexis doesn't see herself doing a series again for ten years -- ie:
another series. Doesn't mean she couldn't be cajoled into one last storyline with Gg. I mean, everybody thought Jessica Biel was never going to come back to 7th Heaven and they got her back one more time for the s10 finale, when everybody thought that *that* was going to be the last episode of that series.
Keep in mind that one of the things that Alexis and her peeps are doing with her press junket for Reed Fish, in whcih she keeps talking about the end of Gg (and evading her part in its end) is to position her as a movie actress by deliberately distancing herself from the series as much as she can. She may not even personally feel as exhausted by the show as she says she is. In any case, IMO, she's overplaying that card badly by well, not continuing to make such comments about the show -- she's going to have to face those questions no matter what -- but by handling those questions *badly.* (Lauren is a far better spinner than Alexis is, IMO.) Her publicist should be throwing his/her arms up in frustration right about now about how much she's alienating her fanbase.
Moreover, IMO, she also shouldn't be foolish enough to say that she won't do a series for 10 years. You don't get the movie roles and you've got no choice but to take the TV auditions and *hope* that you get a series role. Hey, I can understand her seeing Sisterhood 2 as a vacation, but otherwise, you know, movie roles don't grow on trees. And she's going to be acting alongside several of her main competition for movie roles in Sisterhood 2. Add to that list auditioning against such additional competition as Kristen Bell, the cast of Gossip Girl, Kristin Kruek, Allison Mack, Mandy Moore, Rachel MacAdams, Rachel Bilson, etc. and you start asking yourself as a casting director, forget who memorizes their lines fast -- they all memorize their lines fast -- the question is who has the most depth and range as an actress -- those are the ones that are going to get cast the most and the rest are going to fall by the wayside. For example, IMO, Kreuk's career is pretty much done after Smallvile due to her having IMO only modest talent as an actress at best.

Season 8: Because Lorelai would be totally ticked off that nobody told her to stay through the entire ten minutes of end credits for Pirates of the Carribbean 3 to see that one final scene. (An usher told me about it the next day -- ie: today -- at a different theater when I went and saw Knocked Up.) BTW, you're welcome for the heads up.
