Now that most of the polls are over, and i've written my letters (etc) even though i should be writing more, i'm confused about all the other projects going on! anyone care to help explain the other events were doing?!

This is the most recent project.  

New Mail-Out for the Great8Mandate

For a while now we have toyed with the idea of sending daisies to Lauren Graham but have struggled to come up with a workable plan.  And even more recently LoganNRory4ever organised a great book campaign which involved sending books to Alexis Bledel.  Now we are combining the two ideas and organising an en masse mailing campaign to send as many paper daisies and books as possible to the Girls and the Studio.

To take part all you need to do is print out any of the following graphics you like and write your own personal message, or one of our organised quotes, on them.  You can print it on card and send it as a postcard, or on paper and include several in an envelope.  Our mailing date will be Wednesday April 25th, so if you live internationally it would serve you best to try and post yours off before the end of this current week in order to time their arrival with our US friends mail out.  

My suggestion is to send the daisies to Lauren, the books to Alexis and a combination of the both to the studio.  The addresses for all these can be found in the first post of this thread.

There was also the book mailing which you can probably still do if you want, someone correct me if I'm wrong.  I still have the details on it if you want them, I haven't seen Ash around lately and she's the one that organized that.

You have to click on the box that says how many secondsthere are left and that number will decrease until it is time to vote. If you click on it and the numbers have gone back up to 500 seconds then you have missed that round of voting.

Make sure that you have registered first otherwise you can't vote.

I'm very excited about the optimistic news about Season 8; I think a 16 episode season would do the Girls justice. There has been zero mention of Alexis in such a season however... are we to assume that she's on board? Well, not that we're assuming anything, but...  I bet we're going to see a lot of 'fair weather fans' if/when they announce season 8; I can't stand that. A lot of people have written about how GG needs to end this season; I wonder what they'll say about this...oh well, I'm psyched.

I can't wait to do my part for the big mailing- I'm focusing on Lauren. I'm anxious now though, after hearing all this new news- I don't want to wait a whole week!! I want to send them out tomorrow to absolutely convince them to agree, since anyone could change their mind at any minute.

but i think itd be a good idea to gather all your sayings that you put at the end of your post (season 8 because...) and send them to lauren or alexis or someone. (probably lauren, since thats what theyre mainly about  )
i always look to the end of your post to see it before i actually read the post itself, i like them so much. 
so i think the people at gilmore girls would also enjoy them..

I've gone through the last 30 pages or so of this thread, and I'm really excited about all these new projects and developments! I wish I had more time to dedicate to the Great8Mandate, but I have written a few emails, and I had been voting in the eonline poll. I want to contribute more. When do submissions begin for the second photo book? I'll try to pop in here more often and keep myself up to date. Great job you guys, this is truly impressive .

Thanks!  I was hoping that you'd all be entertained by these "drive-by siggies" (I don't know what else to call 'em).  But I'm not so sure I should list all of them at once  -- I wanna still be able to take the WB Studio VIP tour at the end of July, at the end of Comic-Con and the midpoint of my vaycay to SoCal (So they Cal it.).   Slip a spec script under a door or two -- really, in the arms of, like, the personal assistant to the third assistant to, like [Dawson's Creek] Spielberg [/Dawson's Creek) or something.  You know, that sort of thing.   

Oh, heck, it's not as if it's unclear to anyone that I'm a Lorelai/Lauren Graham fanboy. 

Okay, I'll do 'em.  At some point.  Either when I think I've run out of ideas (I might never run out of ideas -- have you met my screen name?     ) or when it's time to officially declare victory, wrap up this thread and move onto the succeeding threads "The Back Nine Grapevine" and "The Season Nine Frontline."

The first book (kind of like a rough draft, if you will) has been sent and delivered.  As I said, even though it was a rough draft it turned out really well. 

I'm still working on the second book.  I originally hoped to have it mailed at this point, but I got sick last week and obviously didn't plan for that.  I do apologize.  However, I will be making at least three or four copies of this second version and mailing them to our contacts, so the Fan Photo Campaign will definitely be making the rounds.

The first book had about fifty photos.  I imagine this next version will have about one-hundred.

Don't know if anyone caught it, but Kristin finally declared Gg the winner of SOS on E! News Wednesday night and included the news of the probable s8 and *didn't* refer to any of the OTHer (Veronica) ranks (Mars).  If any of you are reading this in the early morning, my Media Center Guide says that it'll be repeated at 12 noon ET, 11am CT, 9am PT Thursday morning and I figure it'll probably be repeated during E! News Weekend throughout . . . the weekend.

I am going to send out my letters today or first thing tomorow so that they will get there by the 25th cause I live in New Zealand. I am going to put all of my letters into envelopes like this.

So then when my letter arrives at the studio they will know what the letter is about. Of course this letter will only be about Lorelei.

If you want you can use this envelope although I am not sure how you would do that. (It was enough trouble for me to put it on this page!)This is the net of the envelope so it will need to be put together with glue or sellotape.

I know this is extremely simple and if some one wants to create a better one feel free.

OMG has no one heard this?

"So my sources tell me that Ausiello is correct and that the show WILL be coming back for an 8th Season. There will be a pick up for 22 episodes, but Lauren and Alexis will have the right to opt out after 13 episodes (which, if they do opt out, means that most likely the CW would have the right to cut back its order from Warner Bros. because who wants a show without the girls?). Also, DR will be back as showrunner, despite the concensus being that he has not done a great job this year (big fat "duh" on that one)."
