Well, today I've had a lot of time on my hands, due to being home from school sick, and I had an idea. What if we all made short videos (as in like 30-50 seconds long) about why we want Gilmore Girls to come back and have someone edit together all the clips into an awsome little vid that we could send to Kristen for the SOS videos? I know some people are already making vids and stuff, and that's important, but this way we could have a lot of people in one video! Thoughts?
That sounds like a really good idea. I would love to make a video, but I have no clue how to. If someone was willing to help me out, then I would be in for sure. But, other than that, it sounds like a good idea.

LOVE this idea. I think it was in my first post, when I suggested a video where many different people say a sentence why they want GG to continue. Then Mona suggested to have some fans say the same sentence in a different language and then put it together to a vid. However it seemed like this idea kind of got lost, but I still love it and I would totally be in!! I think we could still use some nice music & clips/pictures from GG but also give it a personal touch

If anyone has the Gilmore Girls soundtrack, then we could use some of the music from there.

I don't know how to post pictures so I will email mine to Heidi. I tried the cookie thing. I didn't have Mallomars, though, so I used Oreos. You don't really see a difference.
lol. Sounds cool! I think I am going to print out like 20-40 pendents, and put them all around a sign that says "GREAT8MANDATE" then put a cup of coffee on there too I am going to do that tomorrow. Oh also, I was SUPER bored last night, so besides voteing 8 million times, I made a GREAT8MANDATE vid. I saw one on there already, but I figured it doesn't hurt to have two. Post it anywhere you like! Also I can just forward all my friends the link instead of explaining the goings-on. Here the link: http://youtube.com/watch?v=DsmpYn5u-goHere is the link to my youtube profile also: http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=gilmoregirls28Thank for you doing that. Nice video! Go check the video out if you haven't already.

While I am a staunch supporter of having a season 8 and I agree with the buttons and banners and the letters, may I suggest one other idea that may help the creation of an 8th season?
I am sure many people out there want to see the show continue, but, remember, the original writers have left the building. With that in mind, imagine the burden on the person that is hired to continue writing the new shows.
Wouldn't it be a helpful thing if the fans started submitting some ideas to help out the writer, who must be feeling overwhelmed by the idea of continuing the Gilmore Girls story? It just so happens I have a thread, "Ideas for shows you wanted to see".
I'm not saying that submitting ideas for the show is the absolute answer but, hey, it couldn't hurt, could it?
Yes, it not only could hurt, it will, in fact, without a doubt, hurt. Gg and every other show are legally forbidden from even *reading* spec scripts ("spec" = speculation/written on the speculation of even the possibility of being bought). The only shows that have ever had an open spec policy have been the various Trek series since the policy started during Deep Space Nine's existence otherwise ALL unrepresented spec scripts go directly into the garbage, no matter how good they may or may not be. If you try to submit a specific story idea, you will be precluding them from using that idea, even if they came up with it themselves the week before they ever saw your idea so that they don't risk being sued. So your only choice would be to be a writer good enough to get an agent, *then* write a spec script for *another* show in the same or similar genre -- because, even when the legal reasons are no longer an issue because you've got representation, it's *still* often considered arrogant to submit a script for the show that you want to write for because you're coming off as if you think you can write better than they can. So for Gg, you'd submit a script for something like Grey's Anatomy or Bones (for the romantic comedy -- I would recommend Bones because it's easier and for the pop culture references), House (for the sarcasm), Supernatural (for the family issues) or OTH (for the young gal target audience) -- anything that's currently on the air that shares at least one substantial thematic aspect with the show you want to try out for. I apologize immensely for being so brutal about it, but there's really no way to sugarcoat it. This is all stuff I learned from reading Creative Screenwriting and Scr(i)pt magazines, the primary magazines about screenwriting for movies and TV. -- Rob ------------------------------ Season 8: Because Kirk has better hair than Sanjaya does.

Very interesting... So if anyone has a really good idea for an episode, don't write it down and mail it to them, if the idea is good enough the writers probably have thought to put it in the series anyway. The video idea is a good one...what if people filmed themselves singing the theme song and then someone edited it so each person sang a line from the song. That could be an intro into the video and then after the theme song, people state why they want the show back. 48%! yay!

The idea with the theme song sounds REALLY great .. although I am not sure if we'll find enough people who are willing to sing the theme song .. I am in (but I have zero knowledge of editing the video) .. anybody else?

Very interesting... So if anyone has a really good idea for an episode, don't write it down and mail it to them, if the idea is good enough the writers probably have thought to put it in the series anyway. Very true. But that's not to say that you can't ask them questions about natural opportunities for story threads, like, "Why is Taylor running the town council again when Jackson beat him in the election for Selectman two years ago?" Anytime you can ask a question about an existing story point is great because it gives them an opportunity to come up with the solution themselves if they feel they have the time within the show to do so. All that you can't do is give them a solution to the question. -- Rob ---------------- Season 8: Beacause I want to see Lauren have to deal with young children (and llamas) on Gilmore Girls, not Evan Almighty (although I'll watch that, too.)

The people of the CW fan forum GG site suck! Everytime i post one tiny thing about gilmore girls and voting on eonline, all they do is make fun of it and laugh at it.. i don't get why they're there posting if they don't care about GG.. or have anything nice to say ever. sorry just venting.. I was trying to get some more GG fans on board on voting on eonline, but no one cares over there. I didn't get one nice reply.
