i also noticed that if you go to E!s website homepage (http://www.eonline.com/index.jsp), the first thing that pops up is a link to the save one show poll. and the big link picture thingie (i know, i have a stunning vocabulary) shows a picture of Lorelai and Rory. no other shows are in the picture! haha i know i'm probably making too big of a deal, but i love that that's how it is.

For all that our hope has been going down the toilet these past few weeks, there is a glimmer of hope about Gilmore Girls Season 8 from the lastest news:

"A very good friend of mine manages a "frock shop" from which GG has sourced some of its wardrobe over the past few years. They have been approached about supplying clothing over the next 6-9 months. No sign of Scott Patterson or David Sutcliffe. I saw some cap and gowns, so most likely the’re filming the graduation scenes. Although, Alexis seemed to be wearing just jeans, uggs, and a dark blue hoodie with sun glasses, so I’m not sure exactly what they’re filming.

I also had an idea: Asking small business owners in the area (Perhaps that little coffee shop that you go to ect.) to put up a small sign.

Even put up flyers onto info boards at Grocery stores ect.

You never know when you might get another member to help support the GREAT8MANDATE

First of all, let me mention that I love seeing the participation on this site.  I personally consider myself one of the many biggest Gilmore Girls fans.  I have done what I can [Letters,Voting,Pins,etc.] to get the word out, and am still trying.  But, someone today mentioned that I should write a letter to the Editor of my local newspaper, and i thought that that sounded like a Great idea, but I am not really sure what I should put.  Does anyone think that that is a good idea/have any suggestions as to what to put in the article?  Thanks!!

Uh, I guess I would mention on how popular this site is becomeing and that it sounds like a nice peice to add to the paper. We have an entertainment section in our paper, so perhaps suggesting to put it into the entertainment section?

Also be sure to add your own thoughts: fans can't live without the witty banter, ect.

I would also send an e-mail. It would be quicker, and you can attach some of the logo's of the great8mandate.

Ok, thank you.  And, I mean a letter to the editor to be published in the editorial, not to be a suggestion for an article.
And, they say in my paper they prefer snail mail.  But I'll make pretty stationary with Great8Mandate logos and such.

I was watching TV today and I forgot what channel, but they were talking about the E! poll Save One Show. Apparently, Gilmore Girls doesn't have much of a chance of getting a season 8. It wasn't on the top lists, same with One Tree Hill. Ah, oh well. We can still do it!

I don't doubt what you saw -- but at this point I think GG has just as good of a chance as any other CW show.  The Network has made it clear they want GG to come back -- they just have to convince the actors.  If things had already been settled and finalised we would have heard about it by now and the GG crew would know about it.  From recent FanForum reports and Heidi's own report that is not the case.  Keep the faith.  It is not over yet.  At least GG is in the E! top five.  That's more than other shows can say.  Keep voting.

That's the attitude! I'm not giving up until it's made official. I just sent a few letters to my local newspaper, hopefully they'll respond... I even sent a letter to the Today show because that was the only TV show I could find any contact to. I don't know if that will help at all though, it wasn't a brilliant letter. I plan on sending out even more tomorrow, though. does anyone else have a way to contact ET or some show like that?

We have to remember that right now everything we read or see is all speculation.  The good, the bad, the ugly, all of it.  I wish I had privy to the inner workings of The CW execs, Lauren, and Alexis' thoughts, but unfortunately I was not gifted as a psychic, so once again, all we have to do is wait.  Now, I understand how easy it is to get distracted and discouraged at the thought or sight of bad news, however we have to keep gunning.  "It's not over till the fat lady sings" as the expression goes...and in this case we are waiting for a not so large young woman to make up her mind and either sign for an 8th season or put us out of our misery and just announce for certain that she will not be coming back.  

Now, don't get me wrong, the grieving would start and continue for a long while if Gilmore Girls is indeed canceled, however, at this point I'm really just holding out, hope or no hope.  And frankly there is a lot going around, so it's hard to believe anything anymore.  I won't stop believing for an 8th season until the announcement is made and next season starts without the Girls on Tuesday nights.  So, hears to hoping and praying that this show does indeed return to us for another year...I'm out to vote some more on the poll.  Toodles!

The stuff you watch on E! isn't always completely true, they bend the truth so it sounds better on tv.  Gilmore Girls definitely has more than a small chance of coming back and One Tree Hill will most likely be back aswell, they were in the top 5 for the E! poll.

Yea E! can be pretty unreliable sometimes!
She told us VM was cancelled a month ago but yet here it is, fighting Gilmore Girls to come back. I almost didn't believe 7th Heaven was cancelled but then I read a couple other places that mentioned it was true. I doubt GG has only a little chance of coming back especially when it comes to the E!Online poll seeing as how 2 days ago it was reportedly in the top 5 position!

I think that no matter what anyone says, it has at least a 70% chance of coming back cause if you think about it, there is only one person keeping it from coming back. Everyone else is all in including the network!

Alright, I think I found a good newspaper in Calfironia that could possibly publish a "letter to the editor" article in the paper.  If you are interested in getting an article published, write a well written letter to the editor of the latimes here:  [email protected]

They need contact information and all that also, like name, mailing address, and phone number.  So a number of us may be contacted if you want to do this.  We could tell our stories right to them, wouldn't that be awesome to have an article printed out in a local newspaper in Cali where someone from the CW or the actors  or their managers could read it?  They said that the letters should be as brief as possible tho.  I hope they can help us, I'm going to try it out and see what happens, I sent my letter in asking if they would consider publishing something about the Great 8Mandate, if they say yes, then I'll write an offical letter.  I also like the idea of writing to ET and access hollywood.. and all.. I wish there was someway we could make a commercial about it and get it on the air.. lol.. wishful thinking I know.. would cost way toooo much

^ thats an awesome idea, that would be great if they published a story about us and out cause! Wouldn't it be amazing if they put The Great8Mandate in a commercial?! Like on tuesday after GG or something! Like you, wishful thinking! It would be amazing though!

btw I watch GG on Global TV (Canadian channel) and would love to contact them about this cause so does anyone have contact info? I've looked but can't find it! It would be nice if others contacted them as well!
