VIDEO UPDATE: OK, So I have loaded all of the clips I plan to use onto my computer (which believe me, took a LONG time..mainly due to the number of clips I wanted to use) I am currently editing them and it's looking good so far. Thanks for all the PMs, they were a huge help. I'm fairly confident this will be 100% finished by Tuesday night, it would be sooner but I do have school so yeah... I know I said I'd post a first draft tonight but there's just so much video I still have to sift through, so it doesn't look like I'll be able to do that, just know that everything is going smoothly  .

Oh, that's wonderful! No problem. You can always make a couple vids if you want to incorporate more clips. I'm sure it's hard narrowing it down.
I'm looking forward with what you come up with. Thanks for all of your efforts.  =)

Here's a fun creative idea. For those of you who have video editing skills and can make this, it could be a fun project.
My apologies if this has already been done.

So, I was thinking that a few people can put together clips from the Gilmore Girls where the characters are each saying a word that add up to a sentence.
Of course it would have a Season 8 theme to it.
Example: "We mandate Season 8 of the Gilmore Girls."
     Rory would say "we"
     Lorelai would say "mandate" (hint: I know the word "mandate" was used this season when Christopher had to go on a man date with Jackson and Lorelai said
    "mandate" a few times. )
    Emily would say Season
    Lane would say 8
    Lorelai says Gilmore
    Richard says Girls.

This is just an example, but you could use any sentence you want to edit together. You would need access to GG episodes to edit and use different characters to formulate any sentence of your choice.

They could be posted here and on youtube.

If you are interested in doing it, I think it would be a fun idea to share here! plus it's kind of fun to have the characters saying it.

Anyway, Hope I made sense.  What do you guys think?? Any interest in this??


--Also, wanted to add that the idea is a starting off point, and you can have longer clips, make a fun storyline, add music, anything your little heart desires. It would be fun to have the characters, themselves, yearning for another season. Be creative and have fun with it. Many of us are video editing challenged. So, the more input, the better.

Just for some added inspiration...over at the TVGuide.com poll, GG was at 30% on Monday, and by Sunday evening, it has jumped to 43%.
I wouldn't give up now. We're edging in so close...I really think we could turn the tides this week if we keep at it. Just keep clicking away.

Keep sending in your pictures!  Heidi is sending it on Wednesday!  And if you are a little weary of putting your pics on the forum, then just email them to Heidi and ask her not to post it, but send it with all the others to the cast.  It's important that we get as many pics as possible, the more there is the better!

That is so great that the Michael Ausiello poll has gotten so much higher for Gilmore Girls and the E! poll, Gilmore Girls is top five and in the "uncertain" list as of today.  So this is when we really have to push for it, harder than before.  Keep emailing and snail mailing and sending in pictures because everyone over there at the show is still so undecided, which is good for us.

aryan2003: I need to know what program you are working with inorder to tell you how to copy a section of a video. Is it on your computer already or is it on a dvd or vhs?? If its on your computer you need to tell me what type of video file it is, and what type of program you are using to edit the clip in. If you are trying to get video clips off of your dvd you are going to need a program called DVD Shrink 3.2 (its the one I use). You can download this online for free. The program extracts video from encrypted DVDs, and saves them to the HD on your computer. I'm pretty sure you need winRAR to download DVD Shrink, and you're probably going to need it to compress files and save space on your HD. It takes roughly 30 minutes for DVD Shrink to rip files from the DVD. After you have ripped the files they will need to be converted into a format that is compatible with video editing software, for this you need another program called WinAVI Video Converter. The entire process for one GG dvd can take upwards of an hour. Taking stuff of VHS tapes is much easier but requires a special cable that is very expensive, and as far as I know only compatible with a Mac. I would send you the files I have but after I finish a DVD I delete it on my HD because it takes up an immense amount of space. Another option would be to download individual episodes of GG off of a torrent website and then edit them (their format is editing friendly) but its very time consuming and not to mention illegal.

 This is, in my opinion, the best option for getting HIGH QUALITY clips.

I think the TVG poll is rigged or something cause GG fans got a head start on that poll! The day it came out, it was at 80% and by the end of the day, the poll was down to 30% but even though I was voting like crazy every 5 seconds, the poll wouldn't go up. Everytime I voted, the GG side would go down and VM would go up so It took us a week to get to 43% from 30 but VM can go up 70% in a day? It just makes no sence to me.
