Hi team,

Is anyone available tomorrow ... for about an hour ... to help me with various tasks for The Great8Mandate?  It involves research and e-mail.  If there are any takers, please let me know and we can set up a time that works for us both.

Thanks!

~Heidi

I'm willing to help out, I'll do anything for another season. I'm free anytime (central time) just let me know what I can do!

I hope this will be of some help! I found this on the CBS web site. Anything to help Gilmore Girls stay on for another season!!

01.31.2007   LEONARD GOLDBERG NAMED TO BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF CBS CORPORATION
CBS Corporation (NYSE: CBS and CBS.A) announced that its Board of Directors has elected Leonard Goldberg, one of television and film’s most accomplished producers and executives, to serve on the Company’s Board.

Goldberg has served as President of a major Hollywood studio, 20th Century Fox, Head of Programming at the ABC Television Network and as Head of Production for a television studio, Screen Gems (now Columbia Pictures Television).  As President of 20th Century Fox in the late 80s, his studio produced the critically acclaimed, hit movies “Big,” “Die Hard,” “Wall Street,” “Broadcast News” and “Working Girl.” He also produced the hugely successful motion pictures “WarGames,” “Sleeping with the Enemy,” “Double Jeopardy” and “Charlie’s Angels” under his own banner. While Head of Programming for the ABC Television Network, Goldberg was responsible for developing and introducing an entirely new format, the Made-For-Television Movie.  He later partnered with Aaron Spelling to produce several classic series, including “Charlie’s Angels,” “Hart to Hart,” “Starsky and Hutch” and “Fantasy.”  At Screen Gems, Goldberg set into motion production of the landmark television film “Brian’s Song.” Island

A graduate of the Wharton School of Finance and Commerce, Goldberg began his career at ABC in its research department before rising to become Vice President of Daytime Programming where he introduced such prototypical, highly successful shows as “The Dating Game,”  “The Newlywed Game” and “Dark Shadows.”

CBS Corporation (NYSE: CBS.A and CBS) is a mass media company with constituent parts that reach back to the beginnings of the broadcast industry, as well as newer businesses that operate on the leading edge of the media industry. The Company, through its many and varied operations, combines broad reach with well-positioned local businesses, all of which provide it with an extensive distribution network by which it serves audiences and advertisers in all 50 states and key international markets. It has operations in virtually every field of media and entertainment, including broadcast television (CBS and The CW – a joint venture between CBS Corporation and Warner Bros. Entertainment), cable television (Showtime and CSTV Networks), local television (CBS Television Stations), television production and syndication (CBS Paramount Network Television and CBS Television Distribution), radio (CBS Radio), advertising on out-of-home media (CBS Outdoor), publishing (Simon & Schuster), interactive media (CBS Interactive), music (CBS Records), licensing and merchandising (CBS Consumer Products) and video/ DVD (CBS Home Entertainment). I think the letter mailing idea is great! I like including the great 8 mandate graphic in it. Heidi Is it possible to put together a stationary with the great 8 mandate online with a general message and the ability to add our personal note about what we love about the show? Then we could simply visit here, add our personal note, print and mail.

If there were a pre-made stationary available here it would be so easy to direct people we know to the site and if it only takes a couple moments to compete, they would be more likely to do it.

We could even have different dates that we do different things; snail mail, email, phone, fax. Hit them hard and keep hitting them, you know what I mean? If it is easy to do......people will follow through!

I know we want everyone's input, but can we make a unified final decision and set dates and GO FOR IT? Whatcha all think?

Hiedi I am still learning. I have developed a web site www.livingfaithcommunity.org. I don't know tons, but I would be willing to help any way I can. Just let me know whatcha need and I will give it the ol' Yale try!

My friend, my Mom, and I are obsessed with Gilmore Girls. When I read that the chance of and 8th Season was very slim I was almost crying and I ran around my house screaming that there might not be an 8th Season!

I'm all up for researching an emailing-just really don't put me on anything too adult, I'm young, but I'm cool with 5-7 Central Time. (PM)

I made this. If you'd like me to make a sig, I'd be happy to do so.

Here were my thoughts (sorry for possible double posting)
I had a thought of novel ways we could both attract attention to our cause and help to keep the show on.

Fiona Apple's fans sent apples to Columbia to get an album released that they had decided to can
Fans of Spooks send postcards and letters from a character they want the show to reinstate

So if we think creatively we can use GG ideas to approach the TV production company re season 8 and beyond
- emailing the words "please luke, please...please luke, please..."
- sending a graphic of a scanned written-on-horoscope saying "thousands of fans will send you pleading emails to keep producing their favourite show. agree to this and they will go away"
- sending empty coffee cups/takeaway bags/homemade pretty sticks with 'GG 8 mandate' stickers on
- making a GG 8 mandate tshirt using cafe press - fans buying copies of it and sending photos of them wearing it to the company (cheaper version - a large graphic is emailed and we print on transfer paper and iron onto our own tshirts)
- writing a GG mini-script together where all the characters discuss what it would be like to be canned, then sending it to the company

anyways, those could all be sub-ideas all branded with the GG8 mandate graphic - keeping it all unified...
-

I think the 'Love Letter to GG' idea might be the best (someone else mentioned it) keeping the Great 8 mandate graphic and writing a please please please type letter with why I love GG in it. We could all send on valentines day, so internationals would take longer to get there and nationals would be quicker - BUT ALL DATED FEBRUARY 14TH

What do you think? Is one week too soon to plan a mail-out idea? Perhaps it could just be the start?

Love the Valentines Day and "Sending our GG's Love" on that day. I think it would be great! We would have to get cracking though. That is coming right up. What do you think Hiedi?
