I agree I love this one. It was the first time we heard the L word to Lorelai. I like when Lorelai says back "I really need to hear that once in awhile"

Yes, but I think we're supposed to assume that they've told each other "I love you" at the very least once before.

My favourite was when Logan said "I love you, Ace" before he left for London in S06 E22. The way he smiled at her and held her face, trying to cheer her up left me sobbing even more. Sigh ...

well, since i'm a luke/lorelai & rory/jess fan aswell as sorta a rory/logan fan i say all da i love you's between luke & lorelai were great (there were only like 2 though), i loved luke's where he liked mentioned lobster afterward but i thought lorelai's i love you to luke came at the perfect time and i kinda liked how she was sorta mad at him when she said it; it just kinda fit somehow. and i love the way jess said "i love you" and ran to rory, it was so jess but it was sorta sweet. logan and rory said i love you too many times so i don't really remember....

i love it when they say I love you to each other LG/RG coz thata fam love right there.  ;)

and oh to that one person who asked when Jess said I love you to her... it was when Jess came back to get his car, and theyve been avoiding each other and then Rory was fed up when she saw him at Als Pancake world [i hope thats right] and then she ran off and said this is my town and I get to leave first and Jess ran after her which was hilarious coz I never pictured Alexis as a good runner haha. but yeah thats it. [at least I think thats it... too many episodes haha]
