i really wanna get it! but like... i'm only 16 and kind of broke! lmao.  i really want it cause my bag is always full cause i have like all my school work plus like 2 books at least! and with a lot of the books i read they're kind of thick... so with the kindle i'd be able to carry those books in such a compact case... i'd LOVE it!!!  maybe for my 17th birthday or something! lmao

I've been reading tons of Jodi Picoult lately.  A lot.  I just got Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close,

oh cool, i read Vanishing Acts by her! I liked it a lot, but haven t bought another of her books...any suggestions?!

Extremely loud and incredibly close is amazing, and sad. the visual effects make it really special and sometimes you wonder wtf? :) but a good book. i also have everything is illuminated ny jonathan safran foer on my book shelf but didn t have the time to read it yet....

i am currently reading The Skull Mantra (Inspector Shan Tao Yun) by Eliot Pattison....it s quite good :D

keep on reading, cause reading is sexy ;)

You people must read 'The Outsiders!' There are three things I am obbsessed with, 1.The Simpsons, 2. Gilmore Girls, 3. The Outsiders. Has anyone read 'The Uglies' series? I heard it's really good, but I want a few more opinions.

Haven't read The Uglies series - sorry can't help. But, I love The Outsiders! Have since I first read it when I was in, I think 8th grade, and to this day still one of my all time favorites. So much to that book! Glad you love it too!

Just started reading The DeVinchi Code - it's good so far so we'll see...

I have been reading up a storm lately and thought I would just mention the books I've been reading that were really great standouts.

The Lovely Bones - Alice Sebold
Very unique telling of the story with amazing characters and quite interesting subject matter.

Welcome to Temptation - Jennifer Crusie
Great fun story, sassy characters, seksey romance and murder and intrigue.  Light reading but a lot of fun.

Wizards First Rule - Terry Goodkind
First book in the Sword of Truth series.  Fantasy material that is a great read, interesting characters and adventurous storyline.  Also recently been made into a TV series called Legend of the Seeker which I am loving.

I'd recommend any of these books.  All enjoyable!

I am an elementary education major and I have to use a website called goodreads.com for one of my literature classes.  it is awesome!  you can rate books you've read, keep track of books you want to read, and look at what your friends are reading.  i recommend it to everyone!

the latest book that i read and loved was The Goose Girl by shannon hale.  it was amazing!  adventure, fantasy, and a little romance!

I haven't read the Uglies, but I have read the Pretties and liked it.

the outsiders is about greasers and socs (gangs) and the trouble they go through together. very sad ending, but not sad enough to make me cry. what's the uglies series all about. i've seen the book in stores and heard a girl talk about for nearly 15 minutes, but i forgot basically everything she said.

I thought The Outsiders was okay.  I had to read it for school in 8th grade and I remember thinking it was okay.

Right now, we're reading The Grapes of Wrath.  I think I'd enjoy the book a lot more if it wasn't for school, if I didn't have to annotate it, and if I didn't have to read 4 chapters a night.

I just finished Man Walks Into a Room by Nicole Krauss, it was extremely sad but very well written.  I also read Q&A by Vikus Swarup, which is what Slumdog Millionaire was based off of, I liked it, but it was very very different from the movie.

I also just read The Tea Rose, and it's sequel, The Winter Rose, both by Jennifer Donnelly, and oh my goodness, I loved them both so much.  They're longer, about 600 pages each, but so complex and wonderful.  They take place in Whitechapel in London in the late 19th century and each one follows one of the family members stories.  Again, there's so much I can't even begin to explain about the plot, my best advice is just to read them.  I loved the books.  The second one kept me up until 2 in the morning to finish the whole thing in one sitting.

I really enjoy Kate Chopin's writing and The Awakening is a jewel.  Being a girly girl, I relish her descriptions of the clothing and interiors, wistful relationships spun out of nothing into a comfortable afternoon.

Five Dysfunctions of Team...required reading at the company where I work for all managers.  Personally I dislike the writing style but the content is useful.
