Hello Heidi!
I am soooooo sorry to learn that you have been under the weather for a few months!!! I hope that you continue to feel better every day. I am the annoying person who sent you a message a few weeks back asking for your help/advice/expertise with letting the "powers that be" know that the fans haven't given up on
Amy Sherman-Palladino's version of a series finale. I sent a a personal letter and a slightly revised petition (with 12,500 signatures) to Peter Roth and the Palladinos at the beginning of May. I sent a complete package to Lauren Graham today (NOW with 13,400 signatures). I have sent a petiton, personal letter and partial signature copies (to conserve paper and postage) to:
Kelly Bishop
Edward Hermann
Scott Patterson and
Liza Weil because they were very public in acknowledging that they thought the fans deserved more.
and Dawn Ostroff just as a courtesy.
I need to get 2 more complete copies done for Alexis Bledel and Les Moonves (because Dawn Ostroff answers to him and do we actually know that he was aware of the thousands of protests to the CW last May?). I say "revised" because I don't think we will ever get an 8th season but I think it is only fair that Warner Brothers and the Palladinos decide what format they might use.......those 7 episodes, a mini-series or a made for TV movie. My main purpose was to let them know how much we appreciate those 7seasons and that there is still so much interest in getting those last words and a "proper goodbye" from GG. In March, Lauren was quoted as saying,
“I don’t know,” Lauren Graham said of the possibility of seeing the Gilmores on the big-screen someday. “I don’t know who makes those decisions. People always ask me that, and I’m like, ‘I don’t know’
I have like 2 or 3 people left who still kind of care [about my show]. I don’t know what the ‘Gilmore Girls’ movie would be about, probably because the show wasn’t really about much. Nothing much happened; we just talked a lot.”by Arieanna on March 1st, 2008
I wanted Lauren to know that there are thousands more who care! Anyway, when you are feeling better, maybe you could guide those who are still hopeful as to what we might do to encourage the Palladinos and Warner Brother's to consider that project Amy has said she was interested in doing. (It has been a year....and her quote was "maybe in a year or two......" With a SAG/Actor's strike looming at the end of June........maybe there will be time for writers to focus new projects if they aren't involved with something at present.
And, just to be clear, I know that a large portion of the fans are young and don't have spare $$ hanging around, (that is why I paid to have the petition copied and mailed, myself) so I think we need to focus on creative things that we can mail. Also, I e-mailed Michael Ausiello a few weeks ago but someone has let me know that he has left TVGuide and is going to Entertainment Weekly in a few weeks. So, I don't know if he received my e-mail telling him that we sent petitions to Amy&Dan and Peter Roth. It would be nice if we could just find out if Amy has been able to bring herself to watch season 7 and thinks she can weave her version of a finale into how season 7 ended. At least that would give us hope or be a cold splash of water in our faces!
Can you advise/help/send us down the right path so no one thinks we are raving lunatics or giant nuisances? That is THE LAST THING anyone wants!
I hope that you are feeling better!

Sincerely,
Nvr2old4GG
