You two are the best haha. I was in the Geelong area and it would be super funny if we walked past each other and had no idea. Well the dad was actually super quite in front of me but liked to moan about how bad a nanny I was behind my back and the mum was very controlling. Basically the kids loved me but the parents wanted me to be Mary Poppins. I had an emotional outburst during my first night alone with the kids because I hadn't been given any information on the kids behaviour and how they normally deal with it. I cried....because I was in a place I had never been before with a family I didn't know and was trying to adjust. Just as I got the hang of everything like dealing with the kids occasional bad behaviour they decided to "let me go". They are a family who hate it if you so emotions and I was raised to not hold it in as its not good for you.

Sounds like an awful situation. I wonder how many people they have emotionally broken so far...maybe one day they will realise that they are the problem...probably not though.

Yeah it was pretty awful. I doubt they will they are far too egotistical for that. It's okay I have my degree in Media and English that I can use now and I'm going to focus on that.

Off topic might be the place for this, but then we always did it here, right?

We all had a scary experience today. My wife and I were out walking with our son. We came to the parking lot where the trucks park, and when we passed a flat trailer (I might be wrong about the terminology) that sat side by side with an open truck, I lifted my son up. Some times he doesn't like it, but today he did.
Little K. quickly ran towards the truck just opposite, that had part of it's side down. And just when I myself had gotten up there, and almost reached him, my kid went down in the space between the trailer and the truck – just exactly enough room for him to fall down. When I looked down there, he sat down, luckily only confused. I don't actually remember how we got him up, but at that time he's face was filled with tears. I could have hugged the little guy in to a singularity. His mother kissed him too, but I just couldn't let him go, and kept checking him, and telling him how sorry I was.
He might have an almost invisible excoriation on the cheek, but it could have been there already. Besides that we found a little scratch on his leg that we are sure comes from the accident. His trousers hid that, and protected him. He keep pointing at it while asking what it is.
He had a great time later on. He is a little mom/dad sick, though. It's not that normal, so it must be the shock, still.

Just sharing how I completely failed. We are so blessed that next to nothing happened to him. I feel like doing the tear thing, writing this.

That's it for now. I'm going to bed.

Janich don't be so hard on yourself you were doing your best and he is okay.  I know that those moments can be scary, like when you lose sight of your child at a busy public park and your head goes to the worst possible scenario.

All right, I've got news.  I'm actually considering going to law school.  First hurdle is the LSAT and it's intimidating, but I'm just starting the research about what it takes to study for the test.

That's awesome Mel! What a big step! You are a go-getter so if you put your mind to it I am sure you will succeed. What brought on this desire? Was it some of the School Board work you are doing? Has your recent experience given you a taste for arguing a point?

I am sure I will need a lawyer at some point in my life, I will hire you :) I wont need you to teach me how to get away with murder or anything like that but I am sure I will run my mouth off and get in trouble one day, haha!

Well my husband and I were talking about what we would do if we went back to school.  At one point I had considered going back to school to teach, but I have decided that I don't want to do that anymore.  Then he said, "I could see you going to law school."  I was like, wow, wow!  I have always thought law school could be very interesting, but not in the sense of practicing law.  I would like to go into educational law or gov't law writing or being a lobbyist.  The more and more I thought about it, the more it makes sense. I have mentioned the idea to a few friends and they are like, yes you can, go for it. The idea is still in it's infancy, a lot of research to do.  And the first hurdle will be a lot of studying for the LSAT.
