Get Ready ~Getting emotionally prepared makes it easier to quit successfully.
~Think about your reasons for quitting. They may include your health, your family?s health, money, or just being tired of the hassle of looking at spoilers.
~Write your reasons down. Each day, pick one reason and repeat it to yourself ten times.
2. Pick a Quit Day~Pick a day and mark it on your calendar. Avoid holidays or high-stress times at home or work.
~As you get closer to your quit day, try cutting back on the amount you look at spoilers.
3. Ask Friends and Family for Support Build a strong support system at home and work.
~Ask friends if they will be "on call" to talk when you have cravings for spoilers.
Join a quit group for support and to help you gain quitting skills.
4. Consider Spoiler Replacement and Other Medications ~Ask your doctor or health care provider if Spoiler replacement or other medications are right for you.
~Using a Spoiler patch or Spoiler gum can double your chance of quitting successfully.
Certain antidepressant medications can also help with withdrawal symptoms.
5. Make a Clean Start ~The day before quitting, throw out all evidence of spoilers. Clean out and put away all spoiler websites from your computer.
6. Getting Through the First Day ~Studies show that if you can make it through the first day without a Spoiler, you are ten times more likely to quit for good.
~Be prepared not to feel as good as usual. You may feel tired, hungry, tense or edgy. You may have a cough or sore throat.
~Hang in there. You will start to feel better soon, usually within a few days.
~Drink lots of water. This will help you deal with cravings.
~Avoid drinking extra coffee, sodas or other drinks with caffeine. They can make you feel even more tense.
7. Avoid Triggers ~Of course you can't change your whole life. But avoiding those situations that make you want to look at spoiler the most - at least for the first few weeks - can make a huge difference.
~If you normally join other people who look at spoilers on coffee breaks, for example, go for a short walk instead.
~Avoid bars, parties or other activities that will make it hard not to look at spoilers. Drinking alcohol may make it harder to say "no" to spoilers.
8. Be Prepared for Temptation ~No matter how committed you are, at times you may crave a spoiler.
~When cravings hit, take a walk, call a friend, do anything you can to keep from looking at spoilers. Cravings usually pass within a few minutes.
~If you need to put something in your mouth, try sugarless gum, flavored toothpicks, sunflower seeds or carrots.
~Try doodling to occupy your hands. Have a pad and pencil handy when you are on the phone or watching TV.
9. Get Moving ~Go for a walk, go bowling, do whatever you enjoy. Exercise is a good way to relieve the stress and edgy feelings you may have when you first quit.
Exercise will also help control your weight while quitting
10. Don't Give Up! ~If you slip and read a spoiler, don't give up. It often takes several tries to quit for good.
~Learn from the experience.
~Reward your successes.
~Buy yourself flowers for making it through the first day.
~Take yourself to a good movie at the end of the first week.
~Save the money you would spend on spoilers and buy yourself something special

To clear up some confusion concerning what is and what isn't a spoiler... Generally, the only thing that the Sprees can't do is read actual spoilers...like in the Spoiler section of the forum, or some websites. Sometimes there's extensive info in TV Guide and such. If it's giving out big details, not just general common knowledge...it's a spoiler. Trailers aren't spoilers, seeing as they are most of the completly false and don't end up giving as much away as they seem.
However...if you don't want to watch trailers so you'll be even more surprised, that's great. To be clear on this...some people will probably be watching them and speculating on them here. If you're going to do that...just be careful to make sure it sounds like a speculation and not a sure thing so we don't spoil others. I don't want to ban trailer discussion, just be considerate.
Also, you can be a spree for GG and then go read spoilers for another show. We arn't saying you have to stop reading all spoilers. If you want to that's fine.
So remember:
Spoilers are baddddd!
If you want to be added, please send me a PM. A note in the thread isn't enough anymore, because we got too chatty and there are so many posts, that I could miss it.Spoiler free is the way to be!
