I have a question for any twilight zone fans out there:

is "The Long Morrow" a good twilight zone episode? I'm considering netflix-ing it but I want to know if its a good one or one that is just kind of flat. I figured this thread would be the most appropriate place for this question.

oh boy.

as much of a lorelai fan as i am, i have to say right now that she is acting incredibly irresponsibly here. not only did she give an ultimatum, which really isn't fair to luke since he hasn't done anything wrong, but she impulsively ran off to christopher for comfort and slept with him. what's up with that? it's almost like she TRIED to mess things up with luke. luke waited for her for 8 years and she told him basically every detail of every relationship she was in, and that caused him a lot of pain, but he dealt with it because he knew she was worth it in the end. now, he wants to postpone the wedding a couple of months because he's recently found out he has a 12 year old daughter and wants to figure out what to do about it, and lorelai is too impatient to give him the time he needs to collect himself. i think her reasoning here, especially as she explained it to sookie when she used the "hanging on to the bumper" illustration, makes no sense at all. i'm extremely disappointed in how she's handled the situation.

i think the way rory is acting over the whole logan in london thing is a little funny to watch. back in the jess and dean days, even when she fought with either of them, she didn't tend to talk about it much except to tell her mom about it, but we never see her get all "oh my God, i don't know what to do, i don't know what he's thinking or what's going on" until now. i don't know i that's a sign of how much more important logan is to her than jess or dean were, but i do think it's pretty entertaining to see her kinda flip out a little about it.

i was a little disappointed not to get to see richard and emily in this episode. (i just got the season for Christmas, haven't watched any of it on TV because i didn't wanna ruin the flow of the storylines) but i'm sure they'll show up soon enough=]

This episode made me laugh and cry. I cracked up when the girls were playing raquet ball & when the Kirk hit Lukes diner with the car. I burst into tears at the very end when Luke comes to get Lorelai. When he said he was stupid and wants to run off with her and get married. All Lorelai does and looks at him and says "I slept with christopher". The look on Lukes face.......wow...it almost makes me cry thinking about it!!

I also loved the whole rocket thing with Rory & Logan. That was such a sweet and romantic gift.

I used to be so mad at Luke for the break up of him and Lorelai, but after seeing this episode again, I am very mad at Lorelai.  I completely don't understand how she could sleep with Christopher if she was ever in love with Luke.  It makes no sense to me.  I have no understanding of the complexities of sex before marriage.  I very confuzed.  She totally broke Luke's heart.  Weird to me now how he could run to her like he did at the end of the season/series.

In answer to the Twilight Zone episode of The Long Morrow, it is an older episode with Robert Lansing and Marriot Hartley.  It is okay but nothing really spectacular.  I have seen it several times. A couple of times since mentioned on Gilmore Girls, and a couple of times before that so when it was mentioned on the show, I actually knew what they were talking about.  It gets shown on the SCI-FI station, usually early in the morning.  It is cool to watch just because it was mentioned on the show and while watching it you think of what Rory is saying about it.

Wow ...

Having not watched GG for a week, I've finally come to this episode.  What a turning point.

First off, the Girls playing racquet ball was priceless.  Very GG-esque.

But this episode was sad in the sense of Lorelai and Luke.  I mean, a car crashed into Luke's Diner and I could feel like everything (his life) was falling around him.  Then he reflected and was finally ready to take that leap.  Lorelai sleeping with Chris ... she shouldn't have run to him at the first sign of trouble.  Just that whole end scene when Luke was making that speech, I was on the verge of tears because I knew how it was going to end.  It was gut wrenching.  I was annoyed Chris called so casually.

Anyway, the whole Rory/Logan thing was very sweet.  Her face when she realized she couldn't see Logan for almost another six months was painful, but it's good their love meant so much to him.

Looking forward to more (going to watch that episode of Twilight Zone now).

Exactly how I feel. Just watched this episode as E4 has just aired it in the UK. I actually ended up shouting no at the screen when Lorelai told Luke she slept with Christopher. Got a bit carried there lol. I think the whole ending is just heartbreaking. I'm just angry with Lorelai, I mean everyone was saying that she could resolve this fight and there she goes, jumping in Christopher's bed. I suppose she thought it was over but surely that doesn't excuse for sleeping with Christopher at the first opportunity
Jess: I like this place.
Rory: Wow. A place in Stars Hollow you actually like.
Jess: And it has so many memories... see over there?

Jess: That's where Luke pushed me in.

When i saw this i was mad at Lorelai, she shouldn't have put Luke on the spot like that, she is acting like a spolt brat!!  I want this Now or never attitude is terrible.  Then again i think Luke only went to her to accept her offer after Kirk drove into his Diner as he had nowhere to work or do.  So really i think he's using her at the same time.  Pickin her up when he see's fit.  Christopher is obv smitten with her....and god knows what Rory will do about goin to London!!? ???

This episode was quite good, an ok start to the season. I loved the whole raquetball thing, and the rocket, rocket gum would be the best!

I had watched this episode on tv shows online. I enjoyed it.

OK, I just watched it for the first time and... what the hell?

There were some funny moments like the Sookie-Michel arm-wrestling thing, the racquetball scene, Paris' tutoring program.  I kinda liked the car-crash thing though I don't think it was directed very well.  Obviously, there was a ramp for that stunt.  Stupid Taylor.

I kinda liked Rory's story arc as she tried to discover about the rocket and it had a very good pop culture reference.

Then there was Lorelai just bottoming out over what she did and such.  Some of the dialogue she had, even with Christopher about booty calls irked me in the wrong way.  As much as what Luke did to Lorelai was wrong of him, he seemed desperate to wanting to talk to her.  Truth is, she didn't really give a chance in the last episode and he wanted to talk to her.  I didn't like the dialogue of how she described the last few months in their relationship.  I didn't get it.  Then came that last scene and he sounded emotional.  Even after what just happened to him.  The diner was just the start of a lot of things to come to him where his life falls apart.  In that last scene, his voice started to crack as he was desperate but what Lorelai threw at him.  Damn.
