You beat me to the punch, again.

Yes, she is going to be in Scream 4 (Scre4m, the official title).  She confirmed it on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno on June 16th.  She will being playing Kate Kessler, mother to Jill Kessler played by Emma Roberts.  Jill is the cousin to Sidney who is Neve Campbell's character.  Neve, Courteney Cox and David Arquette have all signed on for this and the next two movies.  We don't know yet what part Lauren's character will play other than Jill's mom so not sure what will happen to her in the movie so don't know if she will be in the other two or not.  I am kind of anxious to see her in this movie, which is schedule to come to theaters on April 15, 2011.  I have actually already seen posters for it in the theater that I go to.

I went to see all of the first three movies with a friend who really wanted to see them.  The first two were okay, but I fell asleep several times during the third.  I vowed never to go see any others that were made, but now I guess I will have to go and see the 4th, which is the first of three in the 2nd trilogy.  Not only is it something that Lauren will be in and it will actually come to theaters all over so we can finally see her on the big screen again, but it starts filming on June 28th in Ann Arbor, MI which is pretty close to me.  I hope to find out just where and when the filming will be and what days Lauren will be there so I can try to get there to watch a little of the filming.  As much as I would love to meet her, I would probably make a fool of myself so I would just be happy if I could just see her filming something for it or just see her walking around.

EDIT:  Well, I guess I don't have to worry about going to see another Scream movie since Lauren has backed out because of script changes.

In the October issure of Redbook, on sale starting September 21, Lauren Graham is on the cover and there is an artcle in it as well.  One of the subjects that she talkes about is her new relationship with co-worker Peter Krause.  Already knew that they were dating, but it is now confirmed.  Some of the article and a couple of pictures are on line in MANY different places.

By the way, have you seen clips of the new film she's in It's Kind of a Funny Story?

Yes, I have.  It looks like it will be good to me.  What do you think?  I know you go deeper into movies than I do (directing, producting and such).  I mostly just look for something to entertain me.  I wonder how big of a role Lauren has in it.  It has been a while since I have read the book and have read many others since so I don't really remember everything, but I seem to remember that the character she is playing was a decient size part but if they don't really do that much about the parents, her role in it could have been scaled down a lot.  I hope not.

Can't wait until the weekend of Oct. 8th to see it, at least I hope that it will come to where I will be able to see it.  I am so tired of getting so excited about her movies and then have to wait until they come out on DVD because they are only released in NY and/or LA if at all.

I really do wish that she could have stayed in Scream 4 because that movie will hit all of the theaters plus it has been filming in several towns/cities around me.

Well, from the blogs and reviews I've read from the Toronto Film Festival.  Reviews have been mixed.  Even as expectations were high considering that Anna Boden/Ryan Fleck has made 2 solid films in previous years.  Half Nelson and Sugar.  The main complaint was the script because it tried to be both funny and sad but with no balance.  A lot of praise goes to the cast despite the script while Lauren's role is really small as the mother of the lead.

I'm not sure if you would want to see it just because she's not in it very much.  Even as the focus is on Keir Gilchrist, Emma Roberts, and Zach Galifanakis (who I feel is overrated).

Some said her role is just a walk-on role.

I saw It's Kind of a Funny Story when it came to the theater and I thought it was pretty good.  It left out the majority of at least the first third if not more of the book and only hit on it in a couple of flashbacks which disappointed me because I really liked the book.  It was a bit slow, but all in all I did like it.  The cast was great.  I wish that Lauren had been in it more, there was a lot of her character from the book that would have been great to see in the movie but what can you do.

It's Kind of A Funny Story comes out on DVD/BluRay on February 8th.  Can't wait.  I hope that there are some good extras on it.

Lauren was on George Lopez last night.  She talked a bit about GG and being given the monkey lamp (that she still doesn't know what it's purpose was), did a tiny bit (one line) of a song from West Side Story that she played Anita in in college.  Also mentioned was everyone working at WB, casts, crews, and everyone else, had to go to these sexualy harassment seminars once a year.  Never heard about those before.  It was funny.  They talked about the gazebo from the town square being moved and has been in the corner of a parking lot next to a dumpster probably since they took it out to put that awful looking fountain in it's place for Eastwick.  They showed it sitting there all lonely looking and then a tour bus driving by it and then someone throwing some trash bags onto it.  Sad.  They talked about other stuff, too.  It was a great interview and Lauren looked amazing.    It was the cherry on top of the end of my birthday.  Such a nice way to end it.

I am really loving Lauren in "Parenthood".  I loved her comedy in "Gilmore Girls" but love her more dramatic side in "Parenthood" as well and how she is able to bring a comedic edge into it as well.  Would love to see her in another movie soon, though.  Miss her on the big screen.
