Dragon Fly Appreciation
« on: November 27, 2005, 08:42:12 am »
Remember back in season 1 when owning their own in was just a dream? Well now that Sookie and Lorelai have achieved their dream of having their own Inn I thought making a thread that talked about and show appreication for dreams would be fun to have on here.  ;D

^It was probably a typo.

I think that's awsome how Lorelai and Sookie achieved their dream.Everybody has dreams but not everybody can achieve their dreams,so I think that's really cool.

The Dragonfly Inn is so pretty.I would love to wok at a place like that.

Lorelai: "Oh, I love it when I talk and no one listens. Makes me think of home."

Sookie: "What  happens if you eat 13 blueberries? Would you die?"

I wish they would show more of Lorelai working.  I remember when she was managing the Independence Inn, her work life was incorporated into the show.  There were episodes like Kill Me Now, with the wedding for twins, and the episode where Richard spent the day with her, and she had to put up with him criticizing her wardrobe and her method of solving problems.  We got to see Lorelai the inn manager.  Why can't we see Lorelai, the inn owner?

I think it's so funny that Sookie has bandages on her fingers every episode from cooking and accidentely cutting herself. I think Lorelai has guts for hiring Sookie as the chef, since Sookie gets hurt from cooking every time! :D

^^^I agree! One of the many reasons I prefer the first season is because they show Lorelai working at her job a LOT!I don't know why on these episodes they show her working every now and then...

Lorelai: "Oh, I love it when I talk and no one listens. Makes me think of home."

Sookie: "What  happens if you eat 13 blueberries? Would you die?"

She didn't hire her to work at the Dragon Fly, they're business partners so it was a given that Sookie would work as the chef.

Personally, I think it's awesome and Lorelai & Sookie were able to realize their dream.

Sookie is one of the owners so of course she's gunna be the chief. I do miss of course all the times she'd hit one of the cooks accidently in the head with a pan and set things on fire.

Here's a question...remember when Lorelai got a call from some guy who buys inns and he was gunna meet with Lorelai? I think she did meet with him and he offered her a job and to sell the inn to him. Whatever happened to that? I mean personally I think its great that it wasn't sold. That would of been dumb cause its what Sookie and Lorelai have worked for for sooo long.

She and Luke talked about it and Lorelai said she was going to meet with him, but had no intentions of selling it to a major corporation because that would mean she would be traveling a lot to help set up establishments elsewhere and would be away from Luke a lot.

Lorelai's job has made me seriously want to work at a nice little inn.  Too bad there aren't any around here.   :'(

As a side note, there are quite a few "Dragonfly Inn"s around:

Gotta love The Dragonfly...
It is Lorelai (and Sookie's) dream accomplished!  She worked so hard, starting as a maid, working her way up to run the Independence Inn, and she did it all while raising an amazing daughter without the (financial) aid her parents could have provided.
Plus, the front doorway was where she kissed Luke for the first time.    :)

One thing that bugs me is Richard was the only one who said that he was proud of Lorelai when she opened up her Inn with Sookie. Emily seems to care less about it and doesn't even give Lorelai credit. I mean she worked so hard for so many years and on top of that raised a great kid. I give her props for that. Its not easy.
