I'm thinking you mean in your signature (though you can correct me if I'm wrong).  I'm going to give detailed instructions in case there are people who don't know how to get to any of the steps so bear with me

1. click to view your profile.
2. to the left of your profile, there should be a box that says "Modify Profile"
3. under "Modify Profile", there is a link that says "Forum Profile Information", click on it
4. There, scroll down to where it says signature. 
5. Under signature type
8. Click the "Change Profile" button on the bottom to save this.

Let me know if this isn't clear, doesn't work or if it isn't what you're talking about.

Good question.
If you have a picture editing program on your computer you will most likely be able to do it with that. Refer to manual.
If not, you can use photobucket to some degree.
Make a photobucket account if you haven't already (it's free). Then you can decrease the pictures to some degree (not much chose) when you upload them from your computer. The formats that the free service provide are:
click for example - click example for real size
100 x 75 pixels
160 x 120 =II=
320 x 240 =II=
640 x 480 =II=
800 x 600 =II=
1024 x 768 =II=
Note that your picture won't be stretched/deformed. It'll keep the same ratio, or what it's call. Try it out

My first attempt to post some pictures failed completely,
i really didn 't understand what all that thing menth, so i tried to copie it from word and so,
and i ended with posting a blank mail  :

But before doing a second trie and came here, read your post, made a photobucket account (the whole url world whas strange for me before), and Yah, it worked, i post i picture. 

So really thanks a lot, and next time i want to trie something all for sure look here first, and then trie.

Okay, I'm going to replace the brackets [] with parentheses () so it won't actually make a link, but you can see how.

Photobucket is a photo storage basically. [www.photobucket.com]
when you sign up, you upload pics to your photobucket
and it gives you the code to put in sigs etc.

The pic above your "signature" is your "sig"
