He had no way of knowing the truth *shrug* Sometimes desperate people accuse others like that for no reason, just out of anguish. Dunno.

I agree it was unfair to blame Lorelai for Rory.  I mean, it never occured to him that Rory might not be upset herself?

As for season 5, it seems like that was the season for being either out of character or exaggerated.  Emily can be manipulative, but they had her acting like a cartoon character a lot of the time during that season.  And, Christopher listening to Emily was bad enough, but actually letting Lorelai know that Emily pushed him was beyond stupid.  I mean, this is the same Lorelai he grew up with.  Who must have made her feelings about Emily meddling abundantly clear.  It really didn't make sense.

I kind of wish they'd let Christopher really succeed at something.  They keep pushing him back.  He starts to develop a relationship with Rory and something goes wrong.  Either he messes things up, or even if it's going okay, when DS makes an appearance on the show, there's usually a line about how he hasn't contacted her for months.  Even if the actor isn't there, they could still be exchanging phone calls.  He goes back to Sherry so he can be a father to Gigi.  So, let him be one.  But, it's later revealed that he wasn't around much, and when Sherry leaves, Gigi is practically a stranger to him.  So, he becomes a single parent, and then what?  He's still not really being shown as all that active in her life.  And, with the windfall of money in his lap, he doesn't get the chance to show that he's really become a successful businessman.  And, to top it all off, he got a terrible haircut!  Lorelai raised a basically pretty good kid, managed to finish school, was manager of an inn, than owner of another.  There are still areas that need work, that go two steps forward, one step back.  But, the areas I've mentioned are ones that progressed forward.  Sure, Christopher started getting his life together later, but I'd like to see some areas where there's real progress.

I so do agree with you!

And, to top it all off, he got a terrible haircut!

I hate this haircut. it makes him look old.

I like Chris very much. When I think of Chris I can only think of him with Lorelai or hurting Lorelai- but the image of him breaking up Luke and Lorelai never comes to my mind. I think he'd never do that, that was a huge mistake of the writers to make Luke look like the good guy and Chris the bad guy.

I think that from all Lorelai's boyfriends so far, he's the best match for her. I liked Max, but it just felt like Lorelai didn't love him and I wouldn't want to see him hurt. Then there was Jason, who was very charming, but was too different from Lorelai. He came from the same world as her, but he liked it. Luke is deffinetly the worst for me. I mean, he's a nice guy and all, but he's too different from Lorelai. He's too simple, too towny. You can live in a little town and not be towny, like Lorelai. And besides, Luke hates Stars Hollow, but he'll never move out, hes stuck there. I'm not trying to make a point against Luke, but against Luke and Lorelai together.

Chris, on the other hand, has much more in common with her. They both come from the same world, and they both rejected it. They understand each other. Her parents like him (that's an important fact, because Emily and Richard are giving Luke a hard time, and that's definetly not good for a couple).

Does anyone agree with me?
Marian

I really liked Chris in the last episode. It was funny how he freaked out in the restroom and wanted to leave because of the set up.  ;D And it was cute how he touched Lorelais arm then.

I thought Chris was nice as well, but he better not have taken advantage of Lorelai in her upset state. I like the man as well, but he shouldn't try to come between LL. As a good friend I think he would be great on GG.
LORELAI: Oh, don’t be embarrassed Snuffy, I’m just teasing. It’d be a Mets cap.
LUKE: Could you possibly leave me and little missus alone for just a minute?
Luke: Got a handful of Barbie.

I don't think that he has taken advantage of Lorelai. And at the moment there just isn't any LL anymore. And I'm starting to think that it is better. My JavaJunkie-ness is kind of gone.

I think WBB cured him of trying to come between Lorelai and Luke.  However, if Lorelai decided she didn't want to be with Luke, I wouldn't consider Christopher coming between them if they started something.

She did, she said so to the shrink. And she really looked sad at the end...so she doesn't wanna be with Chris. But if she did, that's fine as well, just don't let the writers screw around with my poor little JJ heart anymore..it can't take another season like this. [/color]

I just can't believe he slept with Lorelai... I mean, she would have done anything in a mood like that!

I meant if she decided after she went to see Luke that she didn't want to be with him anymore, then it wouldn't be Christopher coming between them, and if Lorelai changes her mind, decides Luke is not the only love she's ever had (which I'm still not buying) Christopher wouldn't be coming between them.

But, I still say no one who wants Lorelai and Luke together needs to worry.  Them getting together is as sure as death and taxes, no matter what any of the characters do on this show.

David Sutcliffe Appreciation
« Reply #26 on: May 24, 2006, 02:32:25 pm »
I'm not sure if this is already a thread; i couldn't find it if it was.

Anyways, this is appreciatio for David Sutcliffe. The Actor. Not necessarly Christopher Haden..

I think David's done some good. He's a fantastic actor (not necessarly my favorite character..)
but he has done some good work on Friends and Gilmore Girls.

If you have any love to express to David Sutcliffe, feel free here. Also, if i missed an identical thread about this : sorry.

Oh, and David Sutcliffe was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. That's where i live, ladies and gentlemen! I didn't know until today. To be honest, thats part of the reason i started this thread  :)

I love Christaphor!! His charactor has matured so much from the beginning of the show. You can tell that, although he's made some mistakes with the Gilmore Girls, he truly cares for both of them. I have ALWAYS wanted him and Lorelai to end up together. after the season 6 finallee..i think it may actually happen!!

I am so glad that Chris finally has his own thread. You are right, he does have some flaws, but c'mon he is Rory's dad. He got his life together and is ready. Chris and Lorelai should be together. Luke is a great guy just not for Lorelai.
