Rory's looooong hug with Lorelai after the awful first day is a sweet moment and also reminds me that the other students don't have such a relationship with their parents. Well, many kids don't but more so for those at Chilton. All we ever hear from Paris, Madeline and Louise is about divorces and financial scandals and being looked after by Portugese nannies. Rory had a big edge in her support from Lorelai.

It does show the relationship they have is strong. Most children wouldnt dream of hugging there parents they would be to Embarrassed.

Luke is quite D0UR, but cute.

don't like Tristan, not a fan of Chad Michael Murray at all.

Drella the Harp player is a HOOT, was that Sally Struthers?

Drella was played by Alex Borstein.  She played Sookie in the unaired pilot of the show.  She had prior commitments and couldn't do the show.  She actually is Jackson Douglas's (Jackson Belleville) real life wife.

Sally Struthers plays Babette.
