I have a quick question.  I just started using a flat iron and I absolutely love it.  I have heard you can make curls with the one I have but I'm just not sure how.  Are there any cool styles yall do with your flat irons?

Thanks,
Amber

REVIVAL OF THE BEAUTY THREAD!!!!

I get really bad break outs, I wouldn't say I have acne, because my skin clears up every once in a while, but then I get another break out. Has anyone tried something that has cleared up their skin?? Because it seems like I've tried everything.

Hey Gilmoregirl1515,

You may actually have some kind of allergy to certain products and some products that are meant to clear your skin can make it worse. Do you use make up because if you do you should try a mineral make up instead of a chemical one, as it is all natural it is less likely to make you break out and can even sometimes help to clear up your skin. I found this awesome website recently where people rate different make ups and skin products based on their skin type. Nearly every product you can think of is on here, it is great. (I have used moisturisers that have made me break out and within a week of stopping them my skin is clear!) They also have a section where you can swap products that havent worked for you with someone who likes that product and try a product they no longer want to see if it works, this way you arent always buying new stuff and wasting your money! Have a look www.makeupalley.com

Hey Amber,

Very late response to your question, I bet you have figured it out by now! Apparently it is quite hard to do on your own hair but with lots of persistance it is possible to curl your hair with a straightener. I have tried and failed but I plan one day to sit there and persist until I nail it!

Have a look at this http://www.wikihow.com/Curl-Hair-with-Straighteners There is a video and everything!

Cheers

My face becomes super clean after using it! I haven't found my perfect lotion yet, since most lotions stimulate oil on my skin, even the oil-free lotions

i saw the flat-iron curling method done on The View once, they made it look so easy!  in theory you do it like curling ribbons with scissors.  i have tried to do it many times, but it doesn't seem to work very well on thick curly hair that has been straightened, and then tried to be flat-iron-curled :-P

my question is this: my have thick curly hair, but would really like to try out the a-line bob!  do you have any advice for layers, do you think i can pull it off, etc?

Oh thank you QueenB.  I haven't mastered it.  I will take a look at that and see if I can get anywhere with it.  Thank you so much.

I would talk with a hairstylist about this.  Go in and ask them if it is going to work and most importantly tell them why you like the cut first.  If the features you like in the cut are not going to come out because of your hair type they will suggest another cut.  I hope that helps

I'm trying to revive as many threads as I can, so I'm gonna try and bump one every day so there is a bit of variety here and maybe i can retain your attention for a few extra minutes a week :)

So Janich, you are one of the top contributors of late, I am dying to know your beauty routine!  ;D How do retain that squeaky clean appearance yet remain so *dirty* ???

I used to play around on another forum (I know! How dare I!!!) and it was a beauty forum that died around the time that our little org went to sleep. People would post their holy grail beauty items and swap products that weren't suited for them...I would sit on there being devastated that there was no Sephora in my country... Now we have one and yet I have been to two international stores but not the local one  ;D

I won a set of lash extensions on a facebook page recently and I have tried to love them but I feel like my eyes aren't clean enough and I miss rubbing my eyes, haha! They are stupidly expensive too.

Anyone else suffered for beauty of late?
