I just noticed that one of the girls in the high school class room shows up again in seasons 5 and 6 as a friend of Logan. She's Juliet at the restaurant in Jews and Chinese Food and then again at the newspaper in I Get a Sidekick Outta You when they try and talk Rory into going to Central America with them to meet the LDB guys right before Logan has his accident! Total double casting! (and I bet they thought that no one except an insane fan like me would notice!)

lol - maybe Amy planned her as the female Kirk, popping up when you least expect it... But she still got more air time than Mrs. Kim's never-seen husband. Wonder what he would have thought of Lane's hair. This episode was so funny! When Lane dyed her hair I was cracking up! But the whole Shane thing bugged me as well
Shane was really just a pawn in the game between Jess & Rory. The worst thing i can say about Shane is that she's a poor employee. Kirk was much better at the cosmetics store. Unlike Shane, he was attentive to the customers, knew the product lines & the specials. Yep, in the end it always comes back to Kirk.

I just watched this episode the other day...it's a great one! I think looked really good with her hair dyed purple and I would l=have loved to see Mrs. Kim's reaction when she saw Lane. I wonder if it would have really given her a heart attack. I guess we'll never know....

I always thought Lane's hair did look a little darker at the end! But that made me wonder how Mrs. Kim would not notice and pepper Lane with questions. In any case, Lane took a bold step forward, even if she did panic when it came to the moment of truth. She was inching towards her eventual emancipation!

Yeah, it was like that, wasn't it? I like how when Rory's desrcribing love, she's desbribing her and Jess!

I love the conversation between Rory and Lane through this whole episode, especially this part where Lane admits her true feelings for Dave.
RORY: Not even Dave?
LANE: No, not even to Dave. And what’s with all the pressing?
RORY: I don’t know, Dave’s just different from the other two.
LANE: Of course, he’s the defacto leader.
RORY: I know, but it also seemed like from the day you guys met there was a little something happening there.
LANE: I don’t know what you’re talking about.
RORY: You’re always talking about him. You always seem to be thinking about him. And now with this hair emancipation of yours, you’re going to unheard of lengths to make a statement to your mother about who you are so you can have a shot at staying in the band – all roads lead to Dave.
LANE: Rory, Dave and I are professionals.
RORY: I know.
LANE: Plus, the rock and roll highway is littered with casualties of band members who have dated and broken the band apart.
RORY: That’s a sensible attitude.
LANE: Very sensible, very sensible. Dave and I are very sensible people. I’m in love with him.
Aw, it's the cutest.

i thought it was interesting when luke and jess were talking about jess's "relationship" with shane and jess stated that their "relationship" worked out well because neither of them respected each other. then luke kind of questions that logic by asking why jess was with shane if he didn't really care about her. jess's reponse: "because the girls i care about don't give a damn about me." was a deep one. i don't think he was just referring to rory here. i believe he was also talking about his mom, liz. first he had to deal with his dad leaving. then he was forced to face the fact that liz was always going to put whichever guy was in her life for the moment ahead of him. then, he came to stars hollow and fell for rory, who kissed him once and told him not to tell, then continued along in her relationship with her boyfriend without so much as an apology or explanation. if i were jess, i would have felt the same way. he just doesn't realize at this point that rory is actually falling for him, because she hasn't fully realized it yet herself. it is extremely rare for us to hear jess talk about his feelings, and this is one of those rare occasions. i think that's why this scene appealed to me the way it did.

Pretty good episode, I LOVED lane in this one she was like "freedom! OH shoot my MOM!" LOL but, Jess, he so confused, Rory kiss *him* first, which is why he kissed her back because we all obviously know that he's into her, but then she goes away, never writes to him and then comes back, when she's still with daen, and expects him to have just waiting for her?? I'm toally Rory's #1 supporter, but she wasn't really using her head in this situation Plus Shane's knd of a slut
