Oh, please. FFY town is full of indications that if Rory had held her ground, they could have stuck. I appreciate that Dean blew up at Rory in public and drove her to Jess in a huge angry narrative because he'd been bottling his feelings about it for so long, but she was exhausted with pandering to Dean's jealousy and lashing out at Jess, maybe it was just a let down that she'd worked so hard to be good and failed. Or her feet hurt, I dunno. I cry when I'm awake for too long at a stretch, but I'm not a vigorous teen.

Heh, if you want to take a parting shot at the way Rory treated Dean, how about this? The previous year, Lorelai lost her partner in the eleventh hour because his nickname, "Ho ho," made him hungry, and Kirk waved a pie under his nose to lure him out of step. Think about it, you have to want it...

The "Ho Ho" story is a Ha Ha! Kirk is a resourseful fella.

I see Fast Forwardy Town as saying to Rory, "you don't appreciate what you have until it's gone." She was only going to feel that way, if at all, after  they broke up. I mean, it wasn't even enough that Jess left town, she went after him. If Rory was exhausted about pandering to Dean's jealousy, she gave no sign of doing anything about it one way or the other, but instead to continue going through the motions with him. I don't see her as working hard to be good because each time she vowed to devote herself to Dean, it was about twenty seconds before she started gazing in Jess' direction again. She worked hard at living in the in-between zone between the two guys.

Yeah, well, I meant it was supposed to be analogous to Rory having two hot apple pies dragged across her path during a weak moment in the endgame, but it's funny, too. The evil swipe was the alternative meaning of "ho ho."

Since Jess came back, they've barely spoken except to get straight that Rory had no claim on him, and to bicker pointlessly about what a jerk he was. They didn't do anything wrong. And I was talking about the games, freakouts, extra-relationship interests, and spontaneous doubts she graced Logan with, not her future attraction to Dean. Rory might have wondered what she missed for the rest of her life, but she never would have dumped Dean as long as the strength to make a pro-con list was in her.

The thing was, did Dean really love her for who she was, or was he just hoping her love of rules would keep her tied to him forever? He knew she was self-centered and driven, but he should have also known she would never cheat on him, even though she hated being a stereotype of a pinned girl. They had so little in common besides renowned hotness, and he said he knew perfectly well that no matter how well-behaved she was, he'd always known how she was really feeling. What was it about Rory badmouthing Jess that put him over the edge? Up until that point, they were in agreement that a self-destructive crush wasn't worth giving up their hard-earned codependency.

Hey, and what did he mean by headgames? Was it a reference to the early scene where Lane is stalking Dave Rygalski? Rory said she hung up on Dean and stalker-pranked him before they were dating and he didn't get it at all. Funny contrast with Dave, who saw right through it and made a clever return-move, but I digress. I saw scheduling conflicts, emotional appeasement, and accidents, but what were the head games?

Has anyone seen the real movie They Shoot Horses, Don't They? It's really good, especially since it was referenced in GG.

this episode was hilarious, loved when Lane called Jess Tony Manero.

Dean finally grew some and ended their SHAM of a relationship, which Rory should've done long ago.

She wanted Jess for months and Dean turned a blind eye to it.

Jess probably won't be as attentive as Dean was,  still think he's a jerk.

- She has a secret crush on Kirk but she knows it will never work because his love is reserved for the trophy.

HA! That one made my night!

Technically Rory did sort of cheat on Dean. SHE kissed Jess in the season 2 finale, not the other way around. That's cheating.
