3.18 - Happy Birthday, Baby

Summary: While Lorelai (Lauren Grham) deals with the rebuilding of the fire-damaged Inn, Rory (Alexis Bledel) schemes to give her mom a great birthday party, complete with a gigantic pizza. Richard (Edward Herrmann) surprises Lorelai with a large check from an investment he made when she was born, and Lorelai uses part of the money to repay her parents for Rory's education, a gesture which does not please Emily (Kelly Bishop). Meanwhile, Luke (Scott Patterson) confirms his fear that Jess (Milo Ventimiglia) has been skipping school to work extra shifts at Wal-Mart.

This is another Emily is a witch episode.  I would prefer having my daughter see me because she wanted to, even if it's not at a set time every week, rather than have her forced to come because of some business deal.  But, nooo!  Emily throws Lorelai's reassurances back in her face and tells her that if she can't see her every Friday night, because of a business transaction, she doesn't want to see her at all.  Lorelai is way too good for that woman.

It tells you when you get the dvds.  The booklet will say which disc every episode is on.

I just finished watching this episode (again) on DVD.  The friendship between Luke and Lorelai is so apparent.  ("Your slave is here."  "Where is the french maid outfit I requested?"  "I'm wearing it under the plaid.")  I couldn't help but wonder when and how they made the deal that Luke would come and do handyman things around her house for her birthday.  I would have liked to have heard that conversation.

I love Luke and Lorelais bit about the birthday Mallowmars.  So funny I always rewind that bit.  I agree it would have been interesting to see that conversation between Luke and Lorelai that lead to him doing handy man work for her every birthday.

I love this episode. Especially the part when Jess trys denying the fact that he did look up  how far away yale is! Ha so cute! That scene is actually where I got my signature quotes from!     Well i thought it was also cool how Rory threw that big b-day party for Lorelai! It was nice of her. The pizza was cool too!

this is a really great episode!! i thought the whole "worlds largest pizza" was really funny. especially when Kirk suffered from cheese burns.

$75,000- WOW. I thought it was hillarious when Lorelai said she was "suddenly in aggreement with everything Bush has to say." HA. that was a good line.

but..my favorite part of this episode is when Jess//Rory are talking about Yale and he says he looked it up. OMG;; that was adorable. when she's teasing him and he kisses her on the head- omg cute.

i dont really know why everyone was soo mad that Lorelai paid back the money..that had been her intention all along.
