It's obviously not a coincidence, but the town is pretty patriotic. Is it possible that coming up with an excuse to name the Inn 'Independence' is what shaped the Stars Hollow we know and love?
 I don't think I'd have liked it as much if it had been an agricultural center with Taylor as some large-and-in-charge banker from the big city.

So I know the group that was supposed to come to the Bracebridge Dinner was the group that bought the Independence Inn..but do we know what it is now?? is it still an Inn??

No group bought it.  Unfortunately, it burnt down and turned out to be unsalvageable (see Those Are Strings, Pinocchio).

The Independence Inn was really pretty.  However, I prefer the Dragonfly.  I think it seemed warmer and more cozy for some reason.  Smiley

I love the Independence in, I wish I could go there. It makes me so sad to know that the sets on GG are either being destroyed or used on other shows.
