1  Gilmore Girls / General Discussion / AOL Poll on: June 03, 2007, 12:25:52 pm
Hey, guys, just wanted to let you know that AOL is having a poll on the best and worst of the season.  So far, GG is featured in three categories, and winning them all: Hottest TV mom, Couple you loved to love (Luke and Loralei), and drumroll please...Cancelled show you'll miss the most (44% of votes, with "Jericho" in second with 35%).
I don't think this does anything, just sharing the latest news.
2  Gilmore Girls / General Discussion / Facebook on: May 18, 2007, 01:33:40 am
For anyone on Facebook, there is a Great8Mandate group that right now has 237 members.  I'm not sure what we can do with that, but I know several people I've invited have joined and probably found out about this site that way.  We can use all the publicity we can get!
3  Gilmore Girls / General Discussion / Emails on: May 17, 2007, 12:55:44 pm
Definitely calling the CW and posting on the site, but does anyone know, are these e-mails to Dawn Ostroff at [email protected] getting through?  I would think not, since it's not UPN anymore.  Does anyone have another idea?
4  Gilmore Girls / General Discussion / CW new line-up on: May 17, 2007, 10:31:27 am
I literally had my head in my hands as I read the CW's new line-up.  Are they serious?  A 21 year-old sells his soul to the devil?  A farmer looks for a wife?  And yes, I did watch "Beauty and the Geek" when it fit my schedule, but I know very few others who did, and it's not as though that show has an audience half as loyal as "Gilmore Girls."
Is there not a single sane person left at the network?
5  Gilmore Girls / General Discussion / Upfronts on: May 17, 2007, 07:52:03 am
Where can we get the scoop on the upfronts?  I know they're today, but when and where do we get the news?  I'm very interested to see what kind of crap CW puts in the Tuesday 8pm time slot.

Okay, so I made my phone call from Germany, kept it pretty short and sweet, just saying how I had seen how many fans, like myself, were extremely disappointed to see the show end last night and if there was anything they could do to bring the show back for even a shortened season this fall, their efforts would not be in vain!  And I ended it with a thank you and I hope to be tuning into "Gilmore Girls" and the CW this fall.
*NOTE: Their voicemail message said that they listen to ALL voicemails and make note of comments!  I don't know how true that is, but if it is, I'd say this number is a good idea and why didn't I hear about this before?

I have sent cards to Alexis and Lauren from Germany, but I'm thinking e-mail is my better option right now, since time is important and it usually takes about two weeks for stuff to reach the USA, so I'm just wondering, does anybody know the best e-mail addresses to use?  I'm using the [email protected] , but I doubt if that's actually read.  I'm also using the [email protected] , but I'm thinking that since she's not w/upn anymore that might not work so well.  Really, I'm willing to use anything!

I'm waiting 30 more days to see the last two episodes (gotta watch it with my mom!), and I'm hoping by that time I'll have heard some good news and we won't be crying as hard at the finale.  I've actually been checking the site all day to see if there were any updates with smiley faces beside them.  Tomorrow I'll definitely be looking for news of the Upfronts all day.

I've got a lot of fight left in me, though!  It's not over yet!

It's 8:09 here in my part of the world, and I'm just thinking that in seven hours I have to admit that my favorite show is finally over.  I'm still mandating, though!  This sucks!
8  Gilmore Girls / General Discussion / Re: The GilmoreGirls.org Great8Mandate on: May 15, 2007, 09:00:15 am
I hate the CW!  (I'm just at step 2 of the grieving process.  I passed step 1 two days ago after reading the SP interview.  I'll get to step 5 after step 3 and 4 are served on the rocks with a twist! Thank you, Sookie!)
Honestly, when four of the major cast members admit in an interview that they are unsatisfied with the ending, what do you expect from the fans?
9  Gilmore Girls / General Discussion / Goodbye on: May 15, 2007, 08:15:40 am
I definitely spent an hour on the phone with my mom last night crying because I can't watch the finale with her tonight.  I'm waiting another month to watch the last two episodes; it's just not right to watch them without my Lorelai Gilmore.
I am so not ready to say goodbye to a show that has been a huge part of my life for the past six years, and to have such little time to prepare for the farewell makes it even harder.  It is definitely true what it says on the homepage: once the Gilmore Girls are in your life, they're in your life forever.
There's still hope, I know, and it kills me that we've had so little time to organize, to really work to convince the CW, but I'm not giving up, even though I am trying at the same time to bring myself to terms with what's happened.  I've laughed with the girls, I've cried with them.  Though they'll soon be gone, I know they will never be forgotten.
10  Gilmore Girls / General Discussion / E-mails on: May 14, 2007, 01:30:19 am
I have a suggestion for those of us sending e-mail, since I get the feeling that lots of our letters are being trashed without even being opened: put something in the subject line about "Gilmore Girls," like "Please don't cancel 'Gilmore' " or "Please reconsider the 'Gilmores,' "  those are corny ideas, I know, but you get the point.  That way, even if they aren't read, they can at least see the insane amount of e-mails being received about the show and get a feel for the support without opening the e-mails.  I don't know if you guys have been doing that, but I started out with just "Gilmore Girls" and then realized that that could be taken as an e-mail telling them how good it was to cancel it if they didn't read it!
Don't give up yet!  After all, there are tons of us and only...well, tons of them, but we keep them in business, so that counts for more.  We can still do this!
And I realize that a lot of that post was spent rambling, I guess that's the Lorelai coming out in me.  I haven't had coffee yet.
11  Gilmore Girls / General Discussion / Re: The GilmoreGirls.org Great8Mandate on: May 13, 2007, 02:46:36 pm
I'm just wondering if anyone has gotten any e-mail back from either Dawn Ostroff or the CW.  I've been sending almost daily e-mails, and plan to continue to kindly do so, but I'm curious as to whether or not anyone knows if they're going through?
Still trying to come up with new ideas, new information.  I don't know how I'll survive without my Gilmores!
12  Gilmore Girls / General Discussion / Re: The GilmoreGirls.org Great8Mandate on: May 12, 2007, 09:34:03 am
Come on, guys!  I know it's getting rough, but we've got to keep our head up!  I'm still sending out regular e-mails.  Just found this from Scott Patterson on the TV Guide website:

TVG: Were you satisfied with the way the Luke and Lorelai story was wrapped up?
Patterson: No, I wasn't, because there was still a lot of life left in it. But also, less is more, because it leaves in the audience's imagination where it could go, and that's really good writing. Why give them the full meal? And I know fans are a little upset because they feel unsatisfied. They feel like they hung in there for so long and didn't get the full monty, so to speak. But I think the show will live in their imaginations longer as a result of this type of an ending.

Come on, guys; after seven faithful years we deserve more!
13  Gilmore Girls / General Discussion / Lauren on Ellen on: May 09, 2007, 02:15:35 pm
Seriously, who finds out that a show they've been working on for seven years has been cancelled while they're out to dinner?!

I don't know if Lauren is really glad about the show being over or if she's just trying to put on a smile for us fans.  Either way, it's not right; we definitely deserve an eighth season!
14  Gilmore Girls / General Discussion / Re: The GilmoreGirls.org Great8Mandate on: May 09, 2007, 09:29:13 am
I think now is a good time for a quote from Michel:

"I am looking for my arsenic tablet.  Have you seen it?"

I just have one question: how are we supposed to go on?
