661  Episode Discussion / Season 6 / Re: 6.18 - The Real Paul Anka on: March 14, 2007, 06:05:04 pm
I don't think that Rory wouldve attended Jess' opening if Logan hadnt made her mad.
Aside from that, I would just like to say that I absolutely loved this episode. I loved how they started it with Lorelai's dream. It was creative and unexpected and I loved it!

665  Gilmore Girls / General Discussion / Re: Who here has ever gone thru the whole comming out/cotillion thing? on: March 14, 2007, 05:23:19 pm
I did attend cotillion and it was exactly as Rory portrayed it. I come from a similar situation, single mom who worked hard, and my wealthier aunt who always wanted me to be part of society. Cotillion was something that was pushed upon me... and though it was a bit exhilarating to participate in, it was not something that I would ever ask my own child to do. It cost way more money than it was worth.... Im not experiencing any crazy benefits from having "come out". I dont see the point.
666  Gilmore Girls / International Discussion / Re: Gilmore Girls in the Northeast (US)--Because that's where they live! on: March 14, 2007, 05:02:35 pm
I am so excited for the screwy weather! I'm flying into Providence tomorrow... my best friend lives in South Grafton and we both just turned 21 so I am going up (from hot south florida) so that we can go to the st. patty's day parade in boston. 668  Gilmore Girls / General Discussion / Re: What other TV shows do GG fans watch? on: March 14, 2007, 04:38:08 pm
i watched the premier of The Ritches last night on FX. did anyone else happen to catch it? i thought it was interesting.
I can't imagine how far it could possibly go though.. the storyline seems like it would get boring after awhile.

Yeah. It was interesting but kinda moved at a slower pace than I had anticipated. I would agree that im not sur ehow far that they can take it. What I really liked was that show "Runaway" which kinda followed a similar idea.. but of course.. it was cancelled Sad
669  Gilmore Girls / General Discussion / Re: What other TV shows do GG fans watch? on: March 14, 2007, 04:34:37 pm
Let me just start by saying that no show even compares to GG... but, I also <3 OTH, 24, Veronica Mars, anything Law and Order... and of course, DIRT. <3

I agree. How is Dirt? I'm curious how it is.

Dirt is fabulous. Its kinda raunchy... so make sure that there aren't any youngins around while you watch it... but i would def. recommend watching it. Make sure that you start at the beginning though. It's available on itunes..... or im sure you can dl it anywhere.
670  Gilmore Girls / Unappreciation Threads / Re: Dean Unappreciation Thread on: March 14, 2007, 03:53:47 pm
I think that Dean is probably one of the most selfish characters on the show. I think that he never really stopped loving Rory and I wish that he would have thought of Lindsey's feelings before he proposed to her and then cheated on her. Now, I'm not denying that Rory had a huge involvement in that fiasco, but Dean knew what he was doing from the moment he heard from Rory when her and Paris did "spring break." I also think that he was always a little controlling, though the writers tried to make him seem sweet and loveable. When he showed up at the party that Richard and Emily threw with all of their Yale friends, he reacted in completely the wrong way. Maybe the reason he was so vocal about how he didnt belong in her world, was because he had known it all along.
671  GilmoreGirls.org / Community Center / Re: What's Karma and/or Community Points? on: March 14, 2007, 03:45:38 pm
Thank you for clarifying that you must have 100 posts to see or use this feature. I was completely confused. I'm sorry because Im not sure if it was covered already, but is karma the same thing as community points? Both thouroughly confuse me. Thanks in advance....

673  Episode Discussion / Season 7 / Re: 7.17 - Gilmore Girls Only on: March 14, 2007, 03:38:49 pm
For eight hundred miles, she'd have to use public restrooms. It's different.

It is very different. Going to Yale to visit Rory is not something that I would consider a roadtrip. I mean, Rory does it every Friday night for godsakes.
674  Gilmore Girls / Fun and Games / Re: True or False? on: March 14, 2007, 03:34:51 pm
False.

Alexis Beldel's real name is Kristen. T/F?
675  Gilmore Girls / Spoilers / Re: Discussion of Spoilers on: March 13, 2007, 04:48:16 pm
someone said everyone is signed on for season 8 except Lauren and Alexis (which would mean Matt).  And, really, what are they going to do with him if he's not Rory's boyfriend?

Ok, question, if someone has signed a contract for a specific season, are the producers obligated to cast them?

Well, this is coming from someone with no real knowledge, so keep that in mind.  I figure if you sign up, you have a deal for however many episodes that the producers want you for.  Although, I'm guessing the power lies in the producers if they decide to write you out earlier than originally planned.  But, I can't picture someone signing up for a future season without having some guarantee that they'll be in some episodes.  It wouldn't make sense to sign a contract and then have the season pass without being there.  If I were an actor, I signed up for a show and then they never used me, I'd consider that to be a pretty shoddy deal.  I don't know if there's anything illegal in it officially, but I think it should be.  Haven't they said that Matt and anyone else is obligated to Gilmore Girls for the eigth season if it happens?  Everything else is in second position.  Which means he can't just up and go do another show or anything while he's contractually obligated, right?  And, if they don't use him, he's essentially frozen with no work.

Again, my understanding of things could be completely wrong, so anyone feel free to correct me.

im not sure if you're right or not... but i like your thinking.
