Did we send out the daisies?
Hope so!  Guess I'll go over to to see....

Not yet since more funding is due to leak in during this week...we need all the money we can get to make a really big statement.

I brought this up in SoLG but...

I was wondering if anyone is interested in going to other network website forums like; the NBC, ABC, etc. and post a little something about our fight for another season and the link to the petition. If you do please make sure you post in the appropriate(sp?) topics areas so we don't aggrivate anyone. Most forums have an "Other" or "General Topics" section we can post this in. It has to be a short but informative post. Is anyone interested in doing this? I would do so myself but I'm too busy with part-time work, a writing class I'm in, and family issues that I barely have time to be here.(it's 2:07AM here right now)

I miss Gran so much! It was so funny to see Emily get a taste of her own medicine! I also liked how Gran was very straight-forward with Lorelai and she was supportive of Lorelai's life. She dies and then everybody seems to have forgotten about her.
78  Gilmore Girls / Relationship Threads / Re: Java Junkies (Lorelai and Luke) - We all love the chick beer! on: July 27, 2007, 08:46:19 pm
Can someone please post a full length picture of Lorelai walking down the isle (sp?) in Wedding Bell Blues? I want to put the winning dress on her, but I cant find that screencap.

I can probably do that I can get screen caps. How big do you want it? (hm, dirty?) Should I PM it to you?
79  Gilmore Girls / Relationship Threads / Re: Predictions of Luke and Loralei After Season 7 on: July 27, 2007, 07:42:33 pm
What I'm hoping Amy will do if it only comes to a 2-hour movie is have it where Lorelai is with Rory when she goes into labor and then on the way to the hospital they have flashbacks where we see what happened leading up to it. That way we can see Luke propose to Lorelai, the wedding, how Lorelai found out she was pregant, and then of course leave time to see the new baby. Other than that there would have to be lots of time-skips just to see them being married. Sigh, I still really think we need at least a few more episodes to get where we should've been last year.

Because seriously we've been jipped this year with Lorelai and Luke! We all know the little kiss at the end won't make all the bad stuff that happened with them just disappear. So we're all hoping they were able to work through all the problems they had before so they can truly move on together and have the family they've always wanted.
80  Gilmore Girls / Relationship Threads / Re: Java Junkies (Lorelai and Luke) - We all love the chick beer! on: July 26, 2007, 10:42:00 pm
GilmoreAddict- that is a great job of editing that pic with the wedding dress!  Grin How about try using a pic where Lorelai is walking down the aisle in "Wedding Bell Blues"? If you could do that it would REALLY fit things perfectly.  Smitten

There are SO many good looking cakes there, it's hard to decide! I want to eat them all.... er, I mean SEE them all!  Cool

By the way, I heard the lyrics: "Written in the stars" mentioned in a song that's titled "Woman" ... I think that's the title. I heard the song at work but I was so freaked out by hearing what I heard that I completely blanked on the title. It was sung by John Lenon! Here's the link to the lyrics of the song: It's definately a Luke POV song!

Anyway, I'm so confused on what we're voting on right now.

Oh, song suggestions maybe; "Love Lift Us Up Where We Belong" or "I've Had the Time of My Life"

Also, do they have to play a CD of the song or could an actual singer sing the songs? I thought it would be amazing to have like Sam Phiilips, Carol King or even Paul Anka (the REAL Paul Anka) sing the first dance song. Just a suggestion.
81  Gilmore Girls / General Discussion / Re: The Great8Mandate on: July 26, 2007, 10:28:41 pm
"I think you wait a couple years. Wait a couple years. Make sure there’s some interest."
Um, I don't think so! Scott will loose his hair by then! (kidding, I hope ) We have to tell them theres interest - NOW! We don't want to wait!
Another thing she has to keep in mind is that Edward Herman is getting pretty old so who knows how much longer he'll be able to be an actor. That's what really has me concerned the most in terms of time.

Whatever happened between the Palladinos and the CW is between them but when it stands in the way of the show ending properly then that's when it has become unprofessional.

Personally if a TV network executive tried to take control over a show I created; I wouldn't allow the show to continue on without me. I wouldn't let their grubby hands get all over my show because I would KNOW it wouldn't go the way I invisioned it. I would've ended the show with Season 6. Season 6 from the middle of the season and onto the ending would be; Lorelai and Luke not going through the gap stuff because of April but instead become more of a family and so they would get married. Then I would have Rory get into a journalism internship that would start right after college... that way we would know she'll make it. At the end Lorelai and Rory would promise to make sure they would be there for each other even when they might be far apart.

If I did let the show continue on without me and hear all the horrible things about how it all ended; I would find some way of fixing the problem as soon as I could. You know, strike while the iron is hot and all.... I would try to be the bigger person by being willing to take the reigns of the show again in order to close it permenately. This way the executives of the network would look 100% bad not me. If I was currently working on another project; I would at least try to find some time to plan things out as soon as I could so I could start them when I was done with the other project. Or split my time between the two projects. Either way, I would want the wheels to turn right away so I could keep my audiences and fans who are DYING for more interested in seeing it.

Now that's just me as a writer but it's not the way ASP is thinking. It makes me wonder what exactly IS she thinking? How does she plan on making and airing this "little something more"? She needs to find a network that would allow her access to the WB studios and that would air whatever she has planned. She needs to make sure all the actors/actresses/crew would be AVAILABLE to get together and make it happen. She needs to have the fans of the show KNOW she is in FACT, and ABSOLUTELY IS going to do it so the fans can stop feeling they're in threat of being betrayed again. Heck, a lot of fans have no idea WHY Amy and Dan left the show and some of them may possibly think it wasn't entirely the CW's fault... that maybe it was money or control issues. Especially with HOW they left the show where they did. Amy giving us proof that she is in fact working on this plan of hers would be the smart thing to do to get loyalty back from veiwers who are suspicious of her actions.

Also, there is still the troubling fact that a two-hour special isn't going to be enough to get all we've been waiting eight years to see... especially with Lorelai and Luke. The fans deserve to see; Lorelai and Luke move in together, a REAL proposal from Luke to Lorelai, the setup of the wedding, the actual wedding, and setting up a future family rather quickly because the two of them are getting kind of old. All of this is too much to go on with Rory storylines, Lorelai and Rory storylines, and Lorelai and her parents storylines.... my head is spinning all ready! SO I'm STILL convinced we really need 8-13 episodes to do all this with.

Ah, sorry it's 1:20 AM and I've hit my second wind so I'm just rambling on here.  :Smiley Tongue I know there are people out there who don't agree with me and that's okay... this is just my opinion it's not fact.  Kiss I hope I didn't offend anyone because that wasn't my intention... sometimes things come off differently when being translated through words like this.  Undecided
82  Gilmore Girls / General Discussion / Re: The Great8Mandate on: July 24, 2007, 07:12:38 pm
Once again ASP makes another obscure statement about getting something more Gilmore out but not telling us how exactly she plans to do this.  :Smiley  It seems to me her intent isn't for another couple of years however, to me; I think that's a risky move on her part. The longer she waits, the more likely the show will loose steam from viewers as most of them will move on to other shows.  Cry Also, if she's willing to add something more then why don't people come together to see if she'll make a 13 episode season 8?  Huh What's WRONG with people (especially the CW)?! Wall I'm sure there was some way they could've kept up negotiations at least until talking things over with ASP so they can mend what was broken! Gawd, the more I think about this, the more frusterated I feel!  Angry

That's it, I'm DEFINATELY making a trip to NY in September! I don't care how I get there or how much the ride costs me! First, I love NY/ I miss visting it and second; I'm hoping fate will throw me in the same path that ASP is walking!

BTW Rob, Heather I'm confused... so we're DEFINATELY sending the daisies this month or are you still collecting funds? I would be able to add more in another two weeks but I can't add anything right now.

Also, I was wandering if people wanted to get together to make some sort of support thing for Lauren Graham missing the Emmy noms. this year? I'm sure we could think of sending her something special with all the talented computer graphics people here.
83  Gilmore Girls / General Discussion / Re: The Great8Mandate on: July 21, 2007, 12:21:31 am
It just re-runned on Friday Night on the ABC channel. It will probably make another round in a couple of weeks since it seems like a lot of veiwers aren't happy with how the show is going. I think it has potential to be good if they can drop the lead female character a hint on not being a total snob. I don't like any of the female characters in the show... I only like the males. I especially like Cappie.

Anyway, has any of the petition or Great8Mandate been mentioned on the ABC Family forum? I just stopped by and even though it's kind of dead in there they are upset about how GG ended too. They don't seem to know about the Mandate or the petition.
84  Gilmore Girls / Appreciation Threads / Re: Lorelai Gilmore / Lauren Graham Appreciation on: July 20, 2007, 11:31:52 pm
On the one hand I can sort of see why she wasn't nominated as I watched the "Farewell My Pet" the other night because 1) yes, the "big discussion" at the end with Christopher was amazing but the rest of the episode; her acting seemed a little off 2) season 7 doesn't deserve an award with how horrible it went. If it did, that would only encourage the CW to keep ruining other shows 3) The CW this year doesn't deserve recognition especially in comparison with ABC, NBC, FOX, etc

Lauren Graham herself definately deserves an award for all the hard work she has put into the show for the past 7 years. She is such a talented actoresses who does indeed deserve that kind of recognition. We all wish the best for her and hope that someday she will have her day in the sun. Gilmore Girls is a show that won the hearts of the people but has been ignored by Hollywood for years. It has strived soley based on the fans love and loyalty for the show. That's the only reason why it has survived for years even after the creators of the show were gone. It is extremely not fair because Gilmore Girls is not just a TV show, it's a way of life. It definately deserves a category of its own in the Emmy's.
85  Gilmore Girls / General Discussion / Re: The Great8Mandate on: July 20, 2007, 11:13:47 pm
haha does anyone watch Greek?  I don't really, but it's on in the background and one of the characters said something along the lines of "why don't we just say what we're all thinking.  why the heck would they cancel gilmore girls?" idk just got me all excited that they mentioned GG.

I watched that today, I was laughing hysterically because the timing of slipping that line in was great! I love that Cappie character! Especially that speech he gave while dressed in Roman armor. One minute he sounded intelligent and then the next minute his surfer dude self came out.

Rob, what's the word about the 2nd daisy campaign are they going to be sent by the end of this month or do you think we need to extend the date to raise a little bit more money? I would add more but my hours at work have been up and down like a rollercoaster and I have been juggling that with my summer writing class.
86  Gilmore Girls / Relationship Threads / Re: Java Junkies (Lorelai and Luke) - We all love the chick beer! on: July 20, 2007, 08:27:03 pm
I know I keep on missing the voting sessions with the categories  Undecided  but I'm glad they are turning out to be great choices! Kiss Things are looking really good and I'm excited to see how all of this turns out! Grin

By the way, I've updated my season 8 fanfic with chapter 4. This one has lots of Java Junkie goodness! Here's a summary...
Episode 4: “Moving On”- Lorelai takes a drastic step to move up a step with Luke. Rory has been reeling ever since she got a call from Logan. When Rory is supposed to meet up for a special diner with Luke and Lorelai; she goes to a rave party without calling. She and Lina meet up with two guys.

Here's a sample...

Luke went upstairs to his apartment, opened the door, stepped inside, and gasped in horror. It was completely bare… and I mean COMPLETELY. Not even his bed was there. The walls were faded except for areas where furniture once was and they held darker shapes. There were some wire hangers in the empty closet and there wasn’t even a scrap of paper on the floor. Luke zoomed out of his apartment and dashed downstairs to the diner phone in a panic.
   Lorelai: “Luke, what’s wrong?”
Luke began dialing random numbers, unable to concentraite on what numbers to press.
Luke: “Someone broke into my apartment and stole all of my stuff! I’ve gotta call the police and catch the bastard!”
Lorelai: “All your stuff is gone?”
Luke: “YES, didn’t you hear what I just said?!”
Lorelai: “I did… but are you sure it was stolen?”
Luke: “What else could’ve happened?! The bed couldn’t have floated out of my apartment like in “Bedknobs and Broomsticks ”!”
Lorelai: “Probably not… maybe it hated that tiny apartment of yours so much that it ran away to a better house,”
Luke: “I’m not filing a missing person’s report for a bed!”
Lorelai: “You don’t need to file a report at all,”
Luke: “I NEED furniture to sleep in! I know I camp outdoors but I shouldn’t have to camp indoors, too!”
Lorelai: “You don’t have to… live at my house,”
Luke didn’t know how to react to that so he just stared at her with a blank look on his face. Finally he managed to spit out; “What?”
Lorelai: “Well considering your bed is THERE… you should live there,”
Luke hung up the phone in shock.
Luke: “Excuse me, did I just take a step into the Twilight Zone or something? You couldn’t have possibly been able to move all of my stuff out of my apartment and into your house…. Could you?”
Lorelai winked and replied with: “Maybe you should check it out for yourself, Joe Friday,”
87  Gilmore Girls / General Discussion / Re: GG Fanfiction - Where dreams come true! on: July 20, 2007, 08:21:06 pm
I've updated my Season 8 Fanfiction under my author name: "linalon" with chapter 4. Here's a summary of what happens in this chapter...

It was later that night when Rory entered her apartment for the night. She was greeted by Lina.
Lina: “Hey, what’s up Roomy? Are you done for the night?”
Rory: “Finally. I can see you have dinner going,”
Lina: “Of course, I was anticipating your arrival… that and I was hungry,”
   Rory: “Great I’m starving,”
Lina: “Even after all those cookies you ate?”
   Rory laughed: “Yes,”
Lina: “I’ve got to say I never expected Ian to do anything like that but then again if I was him; I’d give you all the money I had to bailing me out of getting fired like that,”
Rory: “It wasn’t like that, I would’ve done it for anyone,”
Lina: “Yeah but that’s small town thinking. In big town like this; a lot of people are out for #1 and wouldn’t have defended you like that,”
Rory: “However, big cities are big on respect and sophistication… I proved that I have those today,”
Lina: “True. Okay, so in celebration I did some digging and got tickets to the best place tomorrow night,”
   Rory: “Really, where?”
Lina: “A rave club in Dorchester,”
Rory had to let that sink in for a minute. She was about to spat out her “no” explanations when her cell phone suddenly rang.
   Rory checked who was calling.
Rory: “Oh wait, I’ve got to take this call,”
   Lina: “Okay,”
Rory picked up her cell phone and brought it to her ear.
Rory: “Hello? Luke, why are you calling?”
Luke sat in the storage room of the diner.
Luke: “Things have been a little crazy here all of sudden,”
Rory: “That’s not unusual but I’m getting the feeling I should ask; “like what?”
Luke: “Like your mother moved me out of my apartment and into her house,”
   Rory started laughing hysterically.
Rory: “No way! Oh my gosh, I can’t believe I MISSED that!”
Luke: “Yeah well, that’s not the end of it,”
   Rory: “What does that mean?”
Luke: “Um, well.,. I called you because I’m taking your mother to a special dinner tomorrow night sort of to celebrate…and ask her to marry me,”
Luke was looking at the engagement ring he had in his hand.
Rory nearly squealed: “Seriously, that’s GREAT! I can’t believe it! Mom moves you out and you ask her to marry you… she should’ve done it years ago!”
   Luke: “Yeah, yeah, yeah,”
Rory: “I HAVE to be there!”
Luke: “Which brings the real reason behind this call. Would you be able to make it to the special diner tomorrow night?”
Rory looked over at Lina who held up the tickets to the rave.
Rory: “You’re doing me a favor right now Luke, you have NO idea how. I’ll be there with bells on,”
Luke: “It would be annoying but at least I would know when you’d arrive,”
Rory: “Okay, I’ll be there then! Send me the directions tomorrow morning,”
Luke: “I’ll leave it on your apartment answering machine,”
   Rory: “Thanks Luke,”
Luke: “I wouldn’t want this to go any other way,”
Rory: “Luke, I’m so happy for you two; I just want everything to be perfect!”
   Luke: “I’m working on that,”
   Rory: “Night Luke,”
   Luke: “Night Rory,”
Rory hung up and turned to Lina.
Rory: “Gee Lina, sorry but I can’t go to the rave with you tomorrow night… Luke is going to propose to my mother and I have to be there,”
Lina: “Okay but you don’t know what you’re missing…”
Rory: “Oh, I think I do,”

Do you write on
If you do, what's your name on there?

Yes, I do write on FF.Net. My author name is: "linalon" I have a season 7 and currently I'm working on my Season 8 ff which is going REALLY good. I will be updating it in a couple of days if I can get my computer's internet to work (I'm on my parent's computer right now). I write fairly long but I include lots of dialogs and scene descriptions (I'm a story writer so I hate writing in script form). Read it when you have a chance, I would very much appreciate it. I love to receive feedback.  Smiley

Oh, I was just visting the CW forum and came across a voting link for "Most missed Cancelled show" if anyone is interested in voting for. It's on the far right side.

90  Gilmore Girls / Relationship Threads / Re: Java Junkies (Lorelai and Luke) - We all love the chick beer! on: July 17, 2007, 08:40:00 pm
That is a beautiful dress!  I can see Lorelai in that! She would be gorgeous!
I totally agree with you! I can definately imagine LG in that dress and it's perfect for a winter wedding! Smitten

Someone mentioned a ring bearer before, what about Paul Anka being the ring bearer?  I could see Lorelai training him to walk up the aisle with a pillow in his mouth!

That was my suggestion. I have that in my fanfic because I thought it would be funny and make the wedding a little different than any other wedding on TV. But Davy is just as good as a RB.
