She only likes wonder woman because she practically is wonder woman. She should do a wonder woman, the later days mini series! Who would I talk to to get that idea going...and suggest Lauren releases a rap album? Hehe
Yeah Ausiello mentioned his dream of seeing Lauren Graham play Wonder Woman in the "Bones" podcast video spoiler the other day on Tv under the Wonder Woman topic. She definately would rock the outfit but I'm not sure she would be up to learning fighting/martial arts moves.

She's lucky her freckles and moles don't show a lot through her on screen performances... unlike me  :Smiley I'm basically a real life looking Cheeta Girl (not to be confused with the Disney band). I think they're only really visable here because it's a close up shot of her face and the picture quality is horrible.

Hm, so what was her mother's name with Maiden Last name? Does anyone remember? Does her sister use her mother's last name or her father's?

Well, you're NOT going to like the results one little bit....

I think I got the word on the poll a week before it closed so everyone else (VM and Lost especially) had a huge lead.  Angry

"Grrrrr why can't they see it??"  Maybe frustration works on some people... But yeah you're right, it would be a different story if they don't end up together. Now THAT would be a whole different kind of frustration... lol
Anyway, in the scene when Luke listened to the tape and it hit him, I was like, 'don't tell me he really didn't realize it at all?' I thought he knew it perfectly well, just didn't want to act on it (thought Lorelai wouldn't be interested), thus the denial. But I guess I was wrong... In a way it was sweet, but... man was Luke really that slow?  Well I guess for Lorelai it was one of those things when you have this really good friend, you think he's just a good friend, until one day he starts acting weird and at first you go "What? Him? Nah..." but then start to see him in a different light

I don't get the whole 'Trojan Man' joke... I don't live in the US, so... Anyone care to explain?

I think it was more of a slap of realization then not knowing for Luke. For the longest time he just considered Lorelai as a good friend he thought was beautiful, spirited and whom he cared about but not knowing THAT might be becuase he loves her. Luke never really understood what love was or how to recognize it... nor did Lorelai. That's why there were so many prior relationship problems. So I couldn't say: "God, how dense could Luke be for not knowing it until this moment?" when he listend to the tape because Lorelai didn't realize herself how she felt about him until he started making romantic moves on her. I think Lorelai might had considered a romantic relationship with Luke a long time ago but decided against it because she convinced herself; he hated her, didn't feel the same way, or she simply wasn't good enough for him because of all her problems. Now that I write this the same goes vise versa. Luke thought this way with Lorelai. Like; "Why bother asking her to go out with me? She's just going to say; no," kind of thinking. Last thing Lorelai wanted to do was screw up a relationship that in many ways was a comfort source she needs in life. I mean when L/L had huge fights it hit her HARD and no matter how she ignored those feelings it always got to her eventually (like the dream she had in 3.1). So she buried those thoughts until she noticed how much of a connection she made with Luke during Liz/TJ's wedding. Then she started to question everything bringing it all back up to the surface. Then in this episode she kept thinking Luke had changed and was acting differently but it was really herself projecting her feelings by trying to assume his (which is a HUGE flaw that gets her into trouble with Luke all the time). Luke was completely the same he was before except he was aware of how he felt about Lorelai and was confident in that. Except he forget it's kinda good to let the person your dating know that you're dating them  Cheesy Finally when all the berriers were broken they were able to connect on the same level. They realized how deep their relationship had run. A kiss is something that if you don't like it; you back away or slap the other person. Obviously they felt something they liked when they kissed because they kept on kissing.

Well, like I've said before I think the title has a doube meaning to it. Because of the plural "s". So I think the first meaning referrs to Rory is;  "Raincoat" as in condom and "Recipe" as in a recipe for distaster, and the second referrs to Lorelai meaning: "Raincoat" as in what you wear when it's raining cats and dogs (when things are crazy) and "Recipe" because when Luke was arguing with Lorelai he said he followed exactly what the book told him to do so it's like following the steps of a recipe to make something good. What I'm trying to say is..... a Recipe for Romance.

Of course I could be wrong which is very common with me but I try to put myself in the character's shoes to get a feel for what they think and how they act. In return it makes for great fanfiction writing but I can get a little carried away with my own views on it sometimes.
49  Gilmore Girls / Relationship Threads / Re: Java Junkies (Lorelai and Luke) - We all love the chick beer! on: September 06, 2007, 05:27:00 pm
I was wondering if people wanted to RPG the ceremony on Dec. 31. Like someone would be the director of ceremonies who would tell what's going on. Someone could write what Lorelai and Luke say in their vows, what Rory would say as a witness in the ceremony, who would say what in the wedding video, etc. Hm, just suggestions to try and make this more real feeling. This is better than the "Put a Real Ad for the Wedding in a Real Newspaper" thought I had.  :Smiley I figured I could at least bring this one up. If not I totally understand.
50  Gilmore Girls / General Discussion / Re: What other TV shows do GG fans watch? on: September 06, 2007, 05:00:03 pm
I am definately looking forward to Bones this season especially with Gilmore Girls no longer on Tuesday Nights after next week. I love that show because it's not just another boring forensics(sp?) detective show... it has amazing cases, characters and cast. Among everything else the person lives of everyone is what makes the show and highlight the cases.

I'm also looking forward to another season of Heroes.

I'm also looking forward to "Pushing Up Daisies".

I love this wedding planning thing so much! It has me excited  Grin
52  Gilmore Girls / Appreciation Threads / Re: Lorelai Gilmore / Lauren Graham Appreciation on: September 02, 2007, 10:20:53 pm
Well, ya know what they say about water...

Fish make love in it.
Ah ha, a connection to why I hate the taste of fish. I knew there had to be some reason. I love shell fish like; shrimp, scallops, claims, etc but I hate regular fish. The only fish I like is Haddock and occassionally cod. I hate salmon and tuna especially because they have such strong smells  Undecided(um, if you can't tell I'm an overly picky eater. I LOVE food it just has to be something I like and the way I want it. Tongue Grin Yes, obssessive compulsive eating disorder Lips Sealed)

Hmm, it's kind of a random dislike, no offense there JillianLovesFood. Like, I can imagine being impartial to watermelon, but to actually dislike it, seems soo, gosh, there's not even a word!! It just seems pretty intense for such an innocuous food item.
I like fake watermelon taste like watermelon gum and Jolly Ranchers but not the actual watermelon itself. My mother LOVES watermelon and was eating a lot of it when she was pregnant with me... strange considering I hate it. Then again I was never very good at walking straight lines... I like occassional zags. How about THIS for weird; I HATE blueberries by themselves but I LOVE them in muffins. I'm not making this up either. I'm not embarrassed about this alien-like eating habit of mine either... actually I find it amusing.  Wink I like quarky things.... things that are normal are too boring for me; it's a Sagittarius state of mind for me. Boring things are the worst in my world.... there's too much of it around and I hate it. Just me rebelling against being a Capricorn. I was born the day after Sagittarius ended and I have always hated the fact that I was born a Capricorn when I feel like I'm more of a Sagittarius. So anything that's appealing to most Capricorns (being orginized, planning everything out, being careful about expressing feelings) is what I constantly fight against in my own way because I don't want to be like that. I want to; travel, meet people, get out of inclosed areas, listen to people and having people take my advice seriously, be honest and straight-forward and keep moving forward without letting things in the past or future stop me from living my life the way I need to. Ah, okay I went way off the topic line here. :Smiley Sorry folks  Kiss

I like the color on that outfit Lauren is wearing in that latest pic but I HATE the style on her  Undecided She doesn't look happy wearing it either
53  Gilmore Girls / Appreciation Threads / Re: Lorelai Gilmore / Lauren Graham Appreciation on: August 30, 2007, 11:02:15 pm
Wow, that's weird I don't like watermelon either. Cheesy Or lettuce because both of them have that watery taste to them and I hate the taste of water.
54  Gilmore Girls / Relationship Threads / Re: Java Junkies (Lorelai and Luke) - We all love the chick beer! on: August 28, 2007, 04:46:03 pm
I agree that DR took too long in getting the Lorelai/Chris marriage out of the way, but i think Amy tended to drag things out even more. I'm thinking of the Rory/Dean/Jess triangle that seemed to go on forever from seasons 2 & 3. Or, when Rory dropped out of Yale, it took an eternity for her to make amends with Lorelai and go back to school. Also, the April issue; when those eps were originally airing, each week i would think "this has to be the week L&L start to deal with it and move on" but it went on and on and on. That's the only reason i excuse DR for dragging things in season 7; there was already an unfortunate precedent, imo. But i agree that once Chris was out of the picture, L&L could have made amends much sooner, certainly before "Hay Bale Maze". Even if DR or someone assumed there would be a season 8, L&L did not have to wait until the end to fully reconcile.

But we can look forward to the next scene in your fanfiction, where Luke finally does what he should have done long ago..... unless you decide to draaaaag it out! Argh!
I guess when you have to write for such a long time frame there's a certain need to drag out situations.
For my fanfiction; I wanted to make sure the air was totally clear between L/L before they jumped in. I didn't want the chance of past problems to get in the way of them getting married again. Plus one little kiss at the end of Season 7 wouldn't be able to wipe away all of the hurt and doubt that went on between them. So I made Lorelai single a little longer because the time between 7.22 and the wedding (8.07)rsteps getting them closer and closer. Plus I thought the wedding should take place in the winter (you know the idea of Lorelai getting married while it's snowing is too powerful a visual Kiss) and Lorelai wouldn't want to risk being engaged again with what happened before. Undecided There's no episode between the proposal and the wedding.... I couldn't bare having to write Lorelai being engaged and waiting to get married yet again.  Tongue But everything else goes by pretty quickly. I would much rather have a Lorelai/Luke wedding on TV....  Cry

Anyone else watch "Lorelai?Lorelai?" tonight? God, I love that episode. It's my favorite season 7 episode  Smitten It felt like old times and poor Lorelai. I felt sooo bad for her when she was singing and Luke came in!  Hidden I'm sure the second she ran off the stage she probably started crying hysterically out of embarrassment of letting her emotions be so open like that. HOWEVER, it was great! She sang really well considering she was nervous and drunk (Lauren truly deserves an emmy Kiss) and her eyes sparkled alot while she sang. Luke was so humble yet you knew he was struggling not to loose control himself. Too bad they didn't get together in this episode afterward... with all of those hidden emotions trying to squeeze out well you probably have an idea of where I'm going with this so I'll just leave it to interpretation.

A very interesting theory, Professor!    I have often mulled over whether Amy had a full-scale plan for the outcome of season 6 or was just winging it and i have never come to a conclusion for myself. What you say does add up, but it was always so disturbing to me because L&L had already been through the ringer together and there had already been issues with Chris and i could not reckon with the idea of it going on and on like that. I felt betrayed by "Partings", but i was already feeling betrayed by the distressing nature of L&L's situation during season 6. I think it made sense for them to have problems but the extent of them and the way L&L seemed to be living in different universes while technically living under the same roof was not what i expected after all those seasons of them eyeballing each other. I don't blame DR for anything that happened in season 7 because it was Amy who left him with the season 6 finale, Lorelai in Chris' bed.

The one happy thing for me, however, is knowing that L&L did apologize to each other in "Hay Bale Maze" in a way that suggested they truly learned from their past mistakes. So, although we never got to see a wedding, their reconciliaton left me with a feeling that they might actually live happily ever after. By that i mean, they would have all the usual relationship/marital problems, but would deal with it openly as true lovers are supposed to do.
I totally agree with you about Dave. I have always been a supporter of him from the very beginning. I think what he did was along the lines of what Amy would've done however, he took things one step too far in one direction and taking too long with it. Yes, I knew Lorelai was going to date Christopher seriously after 6.22 ... I expected it but he took it too far in forcing them to marry just to make it so they can never date again after it fails. Getting married just to get divorced later on and taking so damn long to do that. Not to mention taking such slow steps getting Lorelai and Luke to even be just friends again. I do have a huge sense of relief that the whole Christopher, Lorelai, Luke triangle is finally over for good. Leaving Lorelai and Luke to be together. But now because things took so long to get going, we're left in a void... without getting to witness what we've been waiting so long to see with those two. I am also glad that Dave put in the Luke vs Anna parential court battle. I had a feeling that was coming from Amy if she had continued to write.
56  Gilmore Girls / Relationship Threads / Re: Java Junkies (Lorelai and Luke) - We all love the chick beer! on: August 27, 2007, 06:00:36 pm
Thats the episode where he's looking at the rings that Kirk is selling.  Full moon, so time for HIM to propose.  I guess we just didn't need to see it (or ASP thought we didn't  ) because thats the end of the show, when Lorelai gets up to go out of Rory's room.

I have a little theory on that one too. When Amy wrote 5.22 and 6.01 she wrote them knowing full well that there wasn't going to be a wedding that time. She made Lorelai propose to Luke as a kind of a "fake" proposal because she had to two or three more years to fill up and she didn't want it to be Lorelai/Luke raising a family while Rory is off in college. So we didn't see Luke's night with the ring and Lorelai because that's not the proposal we as the audience was meant to see. Not without Rory present and not with Lorelai/Rory not speaking to each other. Another explaination to her having Lorelai in a wedding dress but not able to marry. She meant for there to be a "real" proposal and a "real" wedding probably within the last year of the show but control of it was taken out of her hands and into Dave's... but he went in his own direction. He slowed the storyling down so much because he must've been sure there was going to be an 8th season. A Season 8 was something Amyhad in mind as well but not something desperately needed to right wrongs. So now we're all stuck including her with a sense that some things are missing... one of the most important was Lorelai and Luke getting over themselves and getting married.

Of course this is just my's not proven or anything.
57  Gilmore Girls / Relationship Threads / Re: Java Junkies (Lorelai and Luke) - We all love the chick beer! on: August 26, 2007, 09:29:28 pm
Like I've always said about Lauren and Scott is that Scott just isn't her type of guy. She's more into guys who are like Matt, David, etc. a little preppy looking. I think she and Scott have a plain-old working relationship with a little bit of friendship on the side... I think it sort of needed to be that way. I agree maybe one of the reasons why the rumors grew rapid about them hating each other is because Lauren might have been afraid to cross fictional/non-fictional lines especially in overly-obsessed L/L fans views. I think there was a fair amount of teasing between L and S so things built up in the rumor mill. I do recall Lauren in an interview on YouTube stating how unbelievably fit Scott is and how he playfully teases her about her cars. I take that more seriously than the bad rumors. JavaJunkie and Gilmore fans should take time to watch more of Lauren and Scott in interviews on YouTube because from those I have gained no doubt they don't hate each other.

But let's not forget she did onscreen kiss Scott with tounge and didn't do so with some other guys on the show.  Wink

Nothing, we just win it.
And add another case to prove that "Gilmore Girls" could've gone on a little longer with a proper ending.

I looooved that fan fiction. Why o Why couldn't it have really happened, huh? Was it asking too much?
Thanks so much! Yeah, I know! I AT LEAST wanted to see Luke propose to Lorelai in Season 7  Cry

Not being a fan of fan fiction, that is pretty good (other than its Houston not Huston ).

Thanks  Grin As I said before; I'm still working on it... I have yet to spellcheck things  Wink

omg, I loved that fanfic!!! Great job! I agree with Jim: this should have happened for real!
Thanks again for all of your wonderful feedback and that is just the first proposal he does in this episode... the second one (the more romantic kind) will satisfiy JavaJunkies all over the world. Smitten That and the wedding episode.  Kiss
