121  Episode Discussion / Season 7 / Re: 7.20 - Lorelai? Lorelai? on: May 02, 2007, 02:39:15 pm
To people who are wondering why Lorelai was driving an SUV, if you look carefully at the middle window you can see Dragonfly Inn on it. It is hard to see with the glare on this screenshot, but as I watched it last night I caught it.

But... weren't the DF-cars always black?? Would have never thought of it, good catch!!!!

Honestly, the way the writers have gone with this season and made Lorelai's story so much more prominent than Rory's, I no longer have any interest in Rory and Logan, or Rory in general. Tar and feather me if you will, but I think her character is now boring, they've written it so that Lorelai is the main character and Rory is just there. This prevents me from caring. So I don't care what happens with Rory and Logan. Really.
Now you can impale me. Smiley

So, you'd say it's due to the writing? Having in mind that AB might not be interested in carrying on with the show I couldn't stop thinking "Wow, she acts as if she doesn't care for that character at all any more" while watching the last epis, I just focused (Never again can use this word without thinking "I'm a camera"  Wink Wink Wink ) on Lorelai, too. I'm curious how it will turn out in S8. (YES, there will be one. Has to be. I'm not going to doubt it anymore!!!).
122  Episode Discussion / Season 7 / Re: 7.20 - Lorelai? Lorelai? on: May 02, 2007, 02:31:44 pm
Yes, its always been like that, the episode that comes to mind from earlier years is the one where Richard's mother wants to see Lorelai's house, and they follow her all around, and she goes from the kitchen/hallway to the opening by the door.  Sorry, I can't think of the name of the episode though!

Wow. It seemed so "strange". Ok, have to re-watch that episode, I guess, it was somewhere in 4 or 5, right? Well, I'll have start the whole thing with S1 again after May 15 anyway....  Wink

Except - now I'm backtracking. That's from dating/pre-dating, and she wanted something from friends.
Um...a Barbie bandaid? A can of paint?
Maybe she really should just throw on a flannel shirt.

Well, if it's supposed to be from the the "friends"-stage it should be enough her coming back to the diner, right? He never gave her anything special back then, did he? ...... hmmmm...... Maybe she could wear a miniature of "Bert" as a necklace??  Wink Wink ??
123  Episode Discussion / Season 7 / Re: 7.20 - Lorelai? Lorelai? on: May 02, 2007, 01:53:28 pm
Now, two more thoughts after re-watching 19&20:

* I'm missing the "gilmorism" and the "speed-talking". Just me???

* I'm wondering.... Did you ever recognize that there are two ways into the hall/living room when entering Lorelai's house through the front door??? I just remember the way to the living room and THEN to the hall/kitchen/and so on. But when Lorelai opened the door for Sookie & Jackson (epi 19), she went through the arch on one side (directly from the hall!) and then S&J through the other (living room)!!!! Was this always like that??? Was I sleeping???

Confused. Help, please!!!
124  Episode Discussion / Season 7 / Re: 7.20 - Lorelai? Lorelai? on: May 02, 2007, 12:30:30 pm
Oh boy... glad, some of you also mentioned they'd cried... I felt so stupid!!!

My thoughts:

* Last scene - I would say she's thinking "My little baby's really that grown up???"

* Singing scene - reminded me of the scene at Lane&Zack's wedding, where she also drank a little to much and then expressed her feelings over the mike. And felt bad for it the next morning. Both "expressing feelings" about Luke, right? Like she's ashamed of admitting all those feelings to herself???

* Do you really think she threw away ALL the Luke-stuff??? Even the earrings and the necklace (Liz')?? Because that's what I was thinking about when she talked to Sookie about answering the blue cap.

Now, I'm gonna re-watch...  Wink Wink Wink
125  Episode Discussion / Season 7 / Re: 7.18 - Hay Bale Maze on: April 20, 2007, 05:00:55 am
Jess wouldn't have cared at all. He would have said something like, "Do what you want. I don't care", not out of spite, but because it just wasn't a priority for him.

I don't agree. Do you remember how he talked her back into Yale? He definitely cared!!! He tried to encourage her to do what was right for her and I'm sure he would have this time, too! Would have been interesting what he would have thought being best for her though ..... hmmmm......
126  Episode Discussion / Season 7 / Re: 7.18 - Hay Bale Maze on: April 19, 2007, 02:22:42 pm
I just re-watched the episode and I had to laugh at the scene in the kitchen after Rory gets the job offer and they are drinking wine Logan almost spills some on Lorelai  (they gave us each other a funny look).   I wonder if that was meant to happen or if they left it in.

I noticed that, too and immediately played-back and re-watched again. To me it seems like it was an "accident" and they might have loughed about it afterwards, then they decided not to shoot that scene again and tried to cut it so (almost) nobody would notice.

Well, not us, right?  Wink Wink Wink

Finally!!!! When many of you talked about their excitement for the last two epis, I got very confused. I didn't like them the way you did and I thought, well, maybe it's me? Maybe I don't like *my* show anymore?

But no - this one was absolutely "gilmorish" again, I really like this epi!!!!!! My special comments:

- I LOVED Paris' milk-obsession!!!! Great!!!

- When reading the spoilers I wondered if I would like Logan in SH. Well, I did! He just fit! Strange, but true. He really changed, hasn't he?

- Some of you did recognize Lorelai's blouse (I have to admit, I didn't recognize Luke's!). I'm really wondering - the Lorelai type of woman would definitely consider how to dress before leaving home so this CANNOT be "by accident"!!! What was going through her mind when she picked this blouse? Well, what was going through her mind when she BOUGHT that blouse??? Was ist just for her? Did she want to tell Luke something???

But what bothers me most: Don't you think this epis would be a sign for us getting an eight season???
The last weks I sometimes was quite sure there won't be an eight one. I wrote my letters anyway, voted, wrote emails and stuff but wasn't really believing in it anymore. But - why did the show us Rory explaing all that stuff to Logan??? To me it was like explaining everything important about this show to people who were just joining, having never watched GG before. So that they woul know what's it about. WHY WOULD THEY BOTHER TO DO SO IF NOT FOR MANY MORE EPIS TO COME??? I mean, they did'nt show us the encounter with Lane, but Rory's talking about. They didn't show us the "pity-election" for the maze, but Lorelai's talking about. So, why bother showing us the explanations about SH, they just could have Rory talking about...

Is this just my wishing or really a hint???

Anyway, great epi, good writing, hopefully a signal for the (many???) epis to come!!!!

Regards from Austria (where we had 26/80 degrees (C/F) yesterday!!!!),

Pls tell me - are you writing the same letters/emails again and again? Are you writing different letters to the same people? HELP!
I want this what I'm doing to make sense, I want to tell people how much this show means to me and how much I would like it to stay, BUT I do not want them to feel irritated and then getting the exact wrong reaction.... What's the right thing to do? Heidi? You all?

No, we won't give up. Not until May 17th, right?  Grin

You are right, Heidi; and you saying MM can do another show besides GG, too!

It's just... Well, I stop. And try to be hopeful again!!! Maybe it's because my letters and mails are sent and I've nothing left to do (for support).
Maybe I'll start all over again...  Undecided

I dont know if anyone else read this, but Melissa McCarthy (aka Sookie) just signed on for a pilot on ABC.   Sad  And also i just read this on TVguide.com:

"Say what you want about this season's Gilmore Girls, but show-runner Dave Rosenthal has succeeded in at least one area where Team Palladino failed: He's arranged for Rory to finally come face-to-face with her longtime idol, Christiane Amanpour!

According to multiple Girls sources, CNN's internationally renowned newshound will make a cameo in the show's May 8 season (and likely series) finale. Amanpour's scene is still being written, so all that's known at this point is that she will be playing herself.

As anyone with a passing interest in Gilmore Girls knows, Amy and Dan were relentless in their bid to lure Amanpour to Stars Hollow during their six-year reign. They almost succeeded in getting her late last season, but a scheduling conflict derailed things at the 11th hour. They left shortly afterwards and, well, the rest is history. Whatever mixed feelings they have about the show these days, I gotta think this news will put a smile on their faces.

Now, regarding the small matter of the show's "likely series finale," all I can say is that you might want to start saying your goodbyes now. Talks to bring the show back for an eighth season have stalled, and, according to several sources, there's little hope for a turnaround.

On the bright side, Rory's finally gonna meet Christiane Amanpour!"

It's not looking good... Sad

@ all

Obviously it really makes no sense to use the AB-New York-adress (first post) - even me in Europe, I got my letter back!!! (US mail is definitely working!!!)

Heidi, maybe you want to delete that address from the post? Huh
