Tears, Tears, Tears.

What were the famous four words that ASP wanted to end the show with?

Cry Don't think of tonight as a final farewell to all of our favorite Stars Hollow friends...but rather a celebration of 7 spunky, wonderful years.  Sit in front of your TV tonight, with a mountain of junk food, and celebrate those 7 great years...

I hope tonight's episode makes me laugh, cry, go through all of the emotions I have experienced while watching this show.  But, most importantly, I hope it gives me, and all of the fans, closure.

Tonight is a celebration, not a funeral!!     ...Cherish hearing Where you lead, I will follow, for the final time. Cherish the laughs and all of the quirky characters one last time. Cherish the smiles, the mother daughter relationship, and the friendships, one last time.  And most importantly, cherish the tears that have, and will, fall, one last time.
3  Episode Discussion / Season 7 / Re: 7.08 - Introducing Lorelai Planetarium on: November 21, 2006, 06:33:39 pm
I actually think that this was one of the better episodes in season 7. Just putting my Luke/Christopher opinions aside and just focusing on the episode I thought that that writing was a lot better.  We are finally starting to see a story line come out.  I mean this epiode was just not the same blah blah.  We actually see the characters have emotions and portray their emotions in their acting, something that we haven't seen in a while (with the the acception of Loerlai).  I kind of enjoyed the little mini subplots.

I thought that the April and Luke story was very relaistic.  Here is a man whose preteen daughter is basically in his life for the first time and he has to deal with "girl" issues such as the girl gossip, the party, they boys, and the kissing.  And as mad as April gets at her father for him not letting her go to the party, he is still there for her when she needs him when she is sick.   Luke is turing out to be a rally good father and I think that he is enjoying parenting.

I also liked the Lorelai and Rory disaggrement.  I really understand both sides to the story.  Lorelai didn't want to tell Rory because she is miss pro con list maker and such a deep thinker that she would have subconsciencously talked Loerlai out of it.  And I can also totally understand Rory's being upset.  I mean, take our famouse quote "best friends first, mother and daughter second."  These two have such a great relationship that it almost seems impossible to me for Lorelai not to tell Rory.  But then again, I do understand that she wants to get on with her life.  Their arguement acutally brought some emotion into the show.

And what Chris and Lorelai were going throught with the house.  The high defination flat screen TVs in every room, a waterfall, and transforming Rory's room into Gigi's room.  This is all very relaistic stuff that married couples go through.  It is all about compromise.

I have more of a general comment to point out and that is poor Gigi.  Here her mother left when she was young and she hasn't herd from in a few years and then all of the sudden she goes to another country to spend a few months with her.  And then she will move back to the States only to find that her daddy got married and she is living in a new town, in a new house, and is sharing a bedroom with a 22 year old.  (I know that that is exacterating it a bit, but basically...)

So all in all I am looking forward next weeks episode.

Actually, I thought that this was one of the better written episodes in season 7.  I mean it is nothing compared to seasons 1-3 of course, but I did feel like the writing and story line was actually moving and going somewhere. It wasn't my favorite, but it wasn't "blah" either.
5  Gilmore Girls / Spoilers / Re: Discussion of Spoilers on: November 14, 2006, 07:33:55 pm
I used to be big on the spoilers because I could wait for Gilmore Girls.  Then since season 7, well lets put this nicely: went down hill, I decided to stay away from the spoilers I would be suprised. Well, I cant take it anymore, I have to know if it gets better (or worst, if possible), so I'm back on the spoiler thread!
6  Episode Discussion / Season 7 / Re: 7.07 - French Twist on: November 14, 2006, 07:23:27 pm
Putting my rants and raves from the previous pages and threads aside, I am going to try to pick a good aspect of the episode and focus on it.

Zach and Lane.  Okay, yes it was quick and random and then all of the sudden I hear my TV say "twins" and stare at my TV is complete confusion, but is was a nice little twist that we wern't expecting.  (we thought that only Liz was having twins)  I did like the way that Zach did sort of jump into "father-mode" rather that have the premanment confused expression on his face that he always has.  I also thought that dinner at Mrs. Kim's was funny.  (I wonder if it was a Friday night? lol)  I liked the way that they had a note from the dotor and everything.  That was kind of funny.  And Mrs. Kim was happy for them- nice suprising twist!  Too bad Lane didn't call her best friend Rory and tell her the news about the twins or her mother's reaction.  Or, on the other hand, too bad that Rory didnt call her best friend that is pregnant and see how she is doing.  Since Rory went back to Stars Hollow with Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dumb (I dont get credit for this creative name, some others have refered to them as this on the boards before) she could have introduced them to Lane.  It would have been a nice way to incorporate everyone.  Finally... I am going to try to end on a positive note here- I really liked the part when Mrs. Kim moved into Lane and Zach's.   Then we saw Brian having tea with "the Mrs. Kim people".  That was really funny.
7  Gilmore Girls / General Discussion / Re: Season 7 OUR way on: November 14, 2006, 07:05:20 pm
okay... here I go...

If i were rewriting season 7, I would try to make it be much more like seasons 1-4, back when it was this amazing show that I was obsessed with (and wasn't embarassed to be obsessed with lol)  I want the old characters back.  I do understand that people change and evolve with time, but come on!!!  Loerlai and Rory were both two strong independent woman who didnt let anything get in the way of their charm, wit, and quarkiness.  Now, they are both totally change becasue of boys.  They used to never let men bring them down and get in the way of their life.  Now Rory practically lives her life in depression because of Logan, who has called Rory, what twice?  Also, what made Gilmore Girls such a unique show was that fact that it had literaly a hundren pop cultural references in each episode.  I loved to challange myself and my friends to know all of the reference.  In other words you had to be a pretty inteligent person in order to understand it all, and I loved that!  Now, all of the referenece are gone. And also something else, Loerlai is the owner of a successful inn, however, whenever we see her in the inn she is pouring coffee and pouring out her life's problems to Sookie.  I would love to see her do something worth-while when she is at the inn.  And Rory not having a plan after graduation...come on...now I know that people change, but really, what happend to the focused girl who devoted her life to education and had a good head on her shoulders? She is little miss list maker.  She has to have some clue.  And Emily and Richard, they used to be amazing characters that added so much pizzazz to the show, and not they are both just kinda "blah."  There is such much more that I can say, but I am really tired; and I'm sure that I dont need to continue my little rant anymore because for the most part, I think the majority of Gilmore Girls fans, and ex-fans, agree with what I am trying to say.

These are some of the things that we need to keep in mind when we re-write Gilmore.  We need to be thinking in terms of seasons 1-4 when we rewrite it! ...just my opinion!

something else that bothered me... When Rory was giving her little farewell speech at the paper there was only a handful of people around.  It takes way more than 6 people to put together a daily college newspaper.  And also when Paris had her little meltdown about everyone who was in the room "stabbing her behind her back when she was the editor"- her little speech really didnt pretain to half the people in there.  Only one face from the Yale Daily News staff looked familar from season 6 when Paris was taken off as editor.  As a matter of fact some of the staff are freshmen (remember the episode the week before) so they really had no clue what Paris was ranting  and raving about.  ...Just something that annoyed me!

YEAH!!!!! I am totally in to rewite!!!

You do have to establish rules so this doesnt turn into a "Chirs and Dave Rosental sucks" thread.  When re-writing, please keep old school Gilmore Girls in mind.  Remember the strong independent unique characters who were quorky, witty, intelligent, and role models.  We need the old Gilmore charm back!
10  Episode Discussion / Season 7 / Re: 7.07 - French Twist on: November 14, 2006, 06:13:10 pm
And Rory's hair.  Is she really that desperate for friends that she will be a follower instead of a leader.  She used to be such a unique strong woman and now she is just a follower.  Since the other girls decided to dye their hair a funky color, Rory felt that she had to also.  Rory and pink hair=NO!  Come on Rory, I dont mind you having new friends, but be your own person.  And Marty, just weird!  Why did he want to pretend that he didnt know her?  Kinda strange.  And the way that whats her face kept refering to Marty as "boyfriend" -annoying!!!
11  Episode Discussion / Season 7 / Re: 7.07 - French Twist on: November 14, 2006, 06:08:29 pm
I was a Lorelai and Chirs fan, but now I am just confused.   I dont even know if I want them to end up together anymore. I think that I just want old Gilmore Girls back.

14  Episode Discussion / Season 7 / Re: 7.07 - French Twist on: November 14, 2006, 05:36:17 pm

15  Episode Discussion / Season 4 / Re: 4.19 - Afterboom on: November 13, 2006, 05:43:33 am
Still, the whole sueing storyline just doesn't flow for me.  As for Lorelai having a future with Jason...I really dont know. He is very different than anyone that she has dated before.  Like stated in a previous episode, he is more from "Emily's hood." lol  I think that Lorelai may have given him a second chance, but by the time Jason came around, there was already the spark between Luke and Loerlai.

I alos love the titles of the episodes. The one before this was tick, tick, tick boom and this one is Afterboom!
