1  Episode Discussion / Season 1 / Re: 1.07 - Kiss and Tell on: December 04, 2008, 02:34:50 pm
Rory: Oh my God, He kissed me.

Mrs. Kim: Who kissed you?

Lane: The Lord, Mama.

Mrs. Kim: Oh, OK then

Agreed.  Has me in stitches every time.

One of my favorite first season episodes.  The way the first kiss happened was adorable and then her running off to tell Lane was very teenage-like.  Then her being all nervous around Dean during the movie marathon was cute.  It was cool when Dean also made that speech to Lorelai.  This episode is full of cute.  To quote (I know I know) Tristan, "To be young and in love."  The one decent thing the sucker said.
2  Episode Discussion / Season 1 / Re: 1.09 - Rory's Dance on: December 04, 2008, 02:28:09 pm
I actually really liked this episode (since I like early Rory/Dean).

The pair were so cute together throughout the entire episode and when Louise was trying to hit on Dean, him putting his arms around Rory is priceless.  Tristan also irks me.  He's like some spoilt brat who Daddy pampers to.  As someone else mentioned, any one of Rory's boyfriends would beat the living crap out of Tristan.  I feel sorry for Rory and Dean staying out all night.  It was a complete accident, but still.

I did like the whole Lorelai/Emily subplot.  Emily was taking care of her like a mother and when Lorelai (drowsy) said "Thank you mummy", I smiled.  It was something a child would say.

But next morning, I can actually understand Lorelai's reaction.  The sheer terror of a child not being there when you wake up would be horrible.  But then for Emily to keep bringing her down, I loved Lorelai's speech in the end.  Score!
3  Episode Discussion / Season 1 / Re: 1.16 - Star-Crossed Lovers and Other Strangers on: December 04, 2008, 02:21:29 pm
Watched like 4 Dean/Rory episodes yesterday, so I'll offer my opinions on them all.

That was so sweet of Dean to make a deal of the three month anniversary.  Imagine the one year anniversary Wink.  When he told Rory he loved her, however, I would understand how he would feel.  He just put his heart and soul on display only to be greeted with silence.  I can feel for Rory to, because she did not see that coming.

I loved how Lorelai and Luke where on the same page with the festival and then came in Rachel.  It's like everyone had someone expect Lorelai.

Then there was that Dinner date.  I adored that Lorelai and Richard felt the same way, like father/daughter.  They were united in something (finally).

Wow ...

Having not watched GG for a week, I've finally come to this episode.  What a turning point.

First off, the Girls playing racquet ball was priceless.  Very GG-esque.

But this episode was sad in the sense of Lorelai and Luke.  I mean, a car crashed into Luke's Diner and I could feel like everything (his life) was falling around him.  Then he reflected and was finally ready to take that leap.  Lorelai sleeping with Chris ... she shouldn't have run to him at the first sign of trouble.  Just that whole end scene when Luke was making that speech, I was on the verge of tears because I knew how it was going to end.  It was gut wrenching.  I was annoyed Chris called so casually.

Anyway, the whole Rory/Logan thing was very sweet.  Her face when she realized she couldn't see Logan for almost another six months was painful, but it's good their love meant so much to him.

Looking forward to more (going to watch that episode of Twilight Zone now).

For the first season, that is a really nice credit sequence and it did feel like an opening.  They could have shown this on re-runs or something.
6  Gilmore Girls / General Discussion / Re: GG Fanfiction - Where dreams come true! on: November 10, 2008, 02:21:19 am
So sorry, won't do that again.  Since it's a bit long, I'll give a link: - When was the last time you saw me bake?

Rory decides to surprise Dean with something she has never done before ... ever.  Dean finds out and helps.  AKA WWTLTYSMB ... try saying that five times.

While Dean and Rory aren't my favorite couple, this idea doesn't suit Logan and it doesn't suit Jess well.

7  Gilmore Girls / General Discussion / Stories go where? on: November 10, 2008, 12:06:33 am
Hey all,

I am just curious.  I have a fanfic one shot on GG and I have a feeling I will be writing more.  I am happy to make a writing topic, but where should I put it?

8  Gilmore Girls / Cast and Characters / Re: Who would you like to just throw out of the show? on: November 09, 2008, 12:34:10 pm
Urgh ... April is just so annoying and possibly Sherry, but apart from that, I love them all.
9  Gilmore Girls / Cast and Characters / Re: Who´s the best actor? on: November 09, 2008, 12:30:52 pm
I don't know ... they're all so good.  Kelly Bishop, Edward Hermann, Keiko Agena, Liza Weil, Yanic Truesdale, Scott Patterson, Alexis Bledel, Sean Gunn, Melissa McCarthy and Lauren Graham ... they are all simply fantastic.  Heck, even supporting cast like Emily Kuroda and Jackson Douglas are good.

If I had to pick ... Lauren brings so much life to her character and is a driving force in the show, so I would say her.  But they are all so fantastic.
10  Episode Discussion / Season 5 / Re: 5.01 - Say Goodbye to Daisy Miller on: November 09, 2008, 01:30:54 am
I think this episode was where Rory finally lost her innocence.  She began to grow up with this episode.  She made a huge mistake, and that's human.  I need to watch it again, but from what I remember, it was a great episode to evolve her character.  Her running to Europe was like Lorelai and Harvard.  Some people hate Rory for what she did, but people have moments of weakness and it was important for her character.

Gilmoregirl1515 - I just watched the Hellsinki episode not to long ago, made me chuckle seeing those banners.
SIDNEY - Amazing stuff.  I mean, all of them were great.  The two couple banners made me go 'aww' and the Alexis one just blew me away.  If only I could create graphics like that.
12  Gilmore Girls / General Discussion / Re: How did you start watching GG? on: November 08, 2008, 05:09:04 pm
I walked on in one of my friends watching the episode where Tristan goes out with Paris (curse you faulty memory for episode titles) and it was the class room scene just before Tristan and Rory talked about their kiss being nothing.  I got quickly interested and borrowed the first series box set from her.  After that, I was hooked, lined and sinkered.
13  Episode Discussion / Season 6 / Re: 6.09 - The Prodigal Daughter Returns on: November 07, 2008, 03:59:17 pm
Just watched this episode.  Really good.  I love it how Rory finally is getting her act together.  So what if one person tells her she wasn't cut out to be a journalist?  That is one person.  She's going back to Yale and returning to her normal self.

Although Emily can be sometimes annoying, it was sad to watch her reaction to Rory's depature.  As Lorelai said, it wasn't like she lost Rory.  Rory was just going back to what was going to happen anyway.  She also didn't lose Lorelai, otherwise Lorelai wouldn't be standing in that plane with her.

After what Chris did, I can understand why Luke would be so uncomfortable with Chris.  I do kinda feel sorry for Chris.  Because what Emily did, he's isolated himself from Lorelai and Rory.

April ... goodness, it must be difficult for Like to finally discover he's a father.  I mean, sure, he isn't telling Lorelai yet but I think he is still trying to absorb it.  I have read opinions and only saw April in one episode, but she's ... I dunno'.  I just don't like her character.  She seems like Rory, but I could easily see her talking condescending to Luke and treating him like he's a moron, which he's not.  But from comments in the thread, I can easily see that happening (mind you, just up to this episode).

Just as things get better, they have to get worse ... I guess.

Hello all,

I am AzurePlatina, been a fan since about June and currently up to Series 6.  Really good show, but you all know that already Cheesy.

Let's see ... a bit about myself.  I'm male.  Often, my show tastes are action shows and Japanese Anime, while I am starting to get into House MD.  But GG is my one show in the Drama/female genre.  I actually have a one-shot of GG completed and wondering where on the forum I can post it, and I have some other projects in the works.  Also thinking about starting a GG website.

Hope to become part of this forum,
