Just an FYI: matches have been chosen and emails have been sent out! Check for your match and now the fun part, sending and receiving your postcards!
Lots of love!
2 / Announcements / Postcard Exchange on: October 25, 2015, 11:01:17 am
Hi all!

As the title says, I'm organizing the ORGs first ever post card exchange! As most of you know, the ORG is an international sensation where people come from all over the world to be friends! I believe this is a cool way to get to know about our friends and where they live!

If you follow the link it will send you to a site called elfster-- a site used mostly for secret Santa distribution. Sign up with our group and on or around November 15, I'll have the site send out emails that will randomly assign who you'd send your post card to! As the description of the event says, feel free to send tokens of your love from your home town as well!

Also note: there are two dates listed, the first is November 15. That's the important one. Sign up by November 15 to be included as I will be sending out the emails shortly after that. The second is the "event date", that is less important and something I was required to include so just think of it as a goal to send your postcards by!

Everyone is welcome to participate, the more the merrier! Remember to share this information with your friends who don't come by the ORG on the regular as it will be so good to hear from old friends (and of course it will be nice to have them stop by again)!

Any questions, comments or concern, you can post here!
Looking forward to hearing from you all!
3  Gilmore Girls / Show and Cast Member News / Re: Gilmore Girls Limited-Series Revival Set at Netflix - 10.19.15 on: October 23, 2015, 05:26:10 pm
Literally I have been able to think of nothing other than this since the news broke. My friend and I were driving back home from California in practical tears!!

B, Sometimes silence speaks--- none of them have been shy about denying t..alks of a movie in the past so the fact that all they can say is "I can't confirm and I can't deny".. It's pretty much set in stone
So now that we are pretty much 100% positive this is happening, what do you all think it will be about???

The main site has largely been untouched since 2007, but, to be honest, I kind of like that it exists in that "preserved" state.  It's almost time capsule-esque.  It represents the show as it aired, rather than from DVD or streaming.  There's certainly nothing wrong with watching via those vehicles, but "reported" during the original run of the show -- which will never happen again -- and, to me, that's kind of neat.  I's a period of time where we were all part of something together.
Also, this is beautiful.

What's your favorite episode Marlies?

I've got the seasons, a copy of all of them on my computer, Netflix and I still and so jealous that some people have the box set! It's such a cool looking one and I feel like as a true fan, I should have it.
5  Gilmore Girls / General Discussion / Re: Reading Thread - Cause it's still sexy! on: June 23, 2015, 06:57:46 pm
I feel like I should've read Gone Girl as well.. That's exactly the type of book I like and now that you know the ending it sorta ruins things.

My favorite book ever (besides Harry Potter...) would probably The Lovely Bones. I just read It's Kinda A Funny Story which was kinda a funny story and enlightening if you're into Psych stuff. And just an interesting style.

Anyway. What are you reccomendations?

I mean only a few strands every once in a while... Especially when I had longer hair... It's sorta inevitable when I am around candles.. They just shrivel up... Tell me I'm not the only one!

HYE... Rode on an animal that wasn't a horse?

When did the ORG vanish?

Also, I wish there was something we could do about all these bot accounts popping up Sad makes me sad!

I. Am. Literally. Dying. That is the funniest thing I've seen in a long time... It almost seems fake!
9  Gilmore Girls / General Discussion / Re: Introduction Thread: Getting to Know Each Other All Over Again on: June 17, 2015, 11:44:05 am
The name of this thread tickles me funny considering it is referencing the collapse of the first Org years and years ago but man it is still relevant today!

B, I love you for doing this! It's so exciting reading all that, I am glad things seem to be going well for you!

I miss you all so much! The ORG was such a huge part of my life, I never thought we'd fall away from it! I'm a sentimental fool so I do pop by a few times a year.. But this is a dream come true cause people are actually around a little! I'm going to give this thing a try..

What were you getting up to back in 2009?:
I graduated high school in 2009. I was a whimsical, angsty, socially awkward, sometimes angry teenager in high school. I loved to come here to complain about the little things.

Who was your favourite GG character/actor back then?:
Lauren Graham/Lorelai all the way. Talk about a girl crush. I loved and looked up to the independence and the wit, that was everything I wanted to be.
Is that person still your favourite?: Absolutely!! Just started watching Parenthood all the way through and she is just so good!

What still ties to you to the show/the boards these days?: nostalgic fool here. You guys probably saved my life back then, I always had someone to talk to and that's so important. B is right! I've been able to keep in touch with many people and though we don't talk often, it's always great when your faces come across my Facebook. Nothing beats the ORG tho! Smiley

If you could put two GG actors on a show together today who would it be at what would the premise of the show be? This is such a good question but such a hard one.. Lauren Graham and Sean Gunn maybe... Or Melissa McCarthy and Sean Gunn.. Imagine that comedy! Maybe Milo and Jared? Something action filled and futuristic? This is so tough.

What was your favourite experience on the forum?: gosh I don't know! One time Mela and I started planning and writing a movie in the Lauren Graham thread starring all the characters of GG.. I think we planned for 3 movies in different orders and it was supposed to be sci-fi, futuristic type stuff that ended at the beginning without you actually knowing it was the beginning until the end... We didn't get really far but I remember I spent a lot of time day dreaming about it! But overall it was just being able to talk to everyone at any time, just always knowing people were there for me and cheering me on and forgiving me for my initial desire to star post all over the place.. I loved coming home from school and being able to talk about my day and you all listened so intently! You all rock!

Give us a quick catch up on your life: where to begin... I graduated from HS in 2009 and started college at Arizona State for nursing. Mini crisis when I didn't get in to nursing school initially so 3 1/2 years later I moved to Massachusetts where I spent the next 3 years finishing my degree. Absolutely amazing being able to spend 3 years there getting to know my family a little better, finally meeting the wonderful Rachel, getting the awesome city life! I lived with my grandparents (my moms parents) and was there to celebrate my grandmothers 100th birthday (dads side) before she passed away last fall. So I graduated in May, drove my car across country back to Arizona right in time for my sister to give birth to my very first nephew. I love being an aunt! I passed the NCLEX (nursing boards) in February and just started my first adult job as a nurse in May! It's been such a transition and so much hard work, I'm not sure I like adulting very much but I'm surviving! I've also been dating a guy I met a few years ago on a flight from Arizona to Massachusetts. He's pretty great but I'm a slight commitment-phobe so.. It was long-distance up until Janurary so it's been really nice to finally be back in the same spot as him! Fingers crossed guys.

What has happened in your life that you could never have expected back in your days on the forum?: moving to Massachusetts has always been a dream of mine that I never really thought I'd actually do. I also never thought if I did move there, I'd find a reason to move back to Arizona. But alas, I can't not live near my nephew.. I'm too obsessed.
What do you think the next five years will bring for you?: who knows.. Adulting is hard, I mentioned the commitment thing so I'm trying to keep an open mind.. I'd love to maybe try travel nursing part time and I'm also really in to volunteer work. I'd love to finally make my way over seas for some sort of medical mission. I'm just waiting for the right one!

I want ORG days back! Can't wait to see what others have to say!
Also, B, back then you were the age I am now.. Which is crazy to me cause Im not sure I ever knew how old you were but you seemed so much more mature and out together than I feel now! Maybe it's all perspective? There was a group of "older" ORGers who were my role models, who I came to for advice and what not. Hard to imagine I'd ever be able to mentor myself like you were able to!  Hearts

11  Gilmore Girls / Relationship Threads / Re: Java Junkies (Lorelai and Luke) - We all love the chick beer! on: March 02, 2015, 10:26:15 pm
I've been watching from afar the new Gilmore girls fandom on Tumblr (tumblr.... My how times have changed since the org..) and the most surprising thing to me is how few java junkie fans there are any more! Everyone is wicked interested in Rory (I had an opinion but I never really was that invested in her relationships) and it's always a Dean vs Jess fight! The question is... Where did all the good Java junkie fans go?
12 / Announcements / Re: Heidi's Soapbox: News, Opinions, and Things You Never Wanted to Know on: March 02, 2015, 10:18:58 pm
Seems like there's quite the revitalization on tumblr too! There's a whole new fandom! It's fun to watch people get in to it! I have yet to find anyone who was involved in the ORG tho... This was our own little corner of the world Wink like Kami says tho, it's nice to still have contact via Facebook every once in a while.

This was a fond time in my life and I look back on happy memories and great friends when I needed them most. I couldn't have asked for a better group of people to grow up along side of and cheer me on though the good in bad... Gilmore girls is still the best fandom I've ever been a part of <3

/end cheesy sentimental and nostalgic rant

Gilmore Girls on Netflix starting October 1!! This is great for me because all my DVDs live across country (and I never did get around to buying those last two crappy seasons-- but I do get the urge to watch them every once in a while!)!! Think people might start visiting more often?
14 / Announcements / Re: Heidi's Soapbox: News, Opinions, and Things You Never Wanted to Know on: August 21, 2014, 08:06:31 pm
How often, on average, do you guys return to this site? I think for me, it's about once a year... usually around summer time when I get sentimental, start my before-school-starts- Gilmore Girls marathon, and pretend I'm back in high school hanging out with all you cool people. This is my last one (summer break, that is) but I promise I'll still come back every once in a while. I really do miss it. Those were the days!

15  Gilmore Girls / Show and Cast Member News / Re: ASP's newest show Bunheads airs on ABC Family in June on: July 09, 2012, 06:51:42 pm
I haven't seen it yet but I swear every time the previews for it play, I see Lorelai. It's a bit bittersweet. I'll watch it by the summer's end. I HAVE to!
