Gilmore Girl Jumps To Movies, 03.13.01 ...
"Gilmore Girl" Alexis Bledel, who plays Rory on The WB drama, has been cast in a lead role in the feature "Tuck Everlasting," according to Variety. The film, directed by Jay Russell ("My Dog Skip" ) for Beacon Communications and Disney, also stars William Hurt and Ben Kingsley.
Bledel will play a free-spirited 15-year-old from a stuffy Victorian household who stumbles upon the Tucks, a strange family hiding out on the grounds. The story revolves around the Tucks, a strange family that has discovered a spring that makes them immortal. When the young girl stumbles upon the family and discovers their secret, she must decide whether to become immortal and stay with a Tuck she's fallen in love with.
Bledel, a former model from Houston, TX, made her television debut in "Gilmore Girls" this season. "Tuck Everlasting" would be her first film role.
