Even in repeats, the WB is showing year-to-year gains in adult demos.

"Gilmore Girls" Continues Momentum As It Tops Many Original Episode In Key Demos, Despite Being Up Against Tough First-Run Competition

"Charmed" Beats Last Year's Ratings In All 18-34 and 18-49 Demos

The WB's Thursday line-up of Gilmore Girls and Charmed, which was up against first-run programming on four other networks, achieved year-to-year growth in its first night of repeats (other than Thanksgiving).

In its first repeat, critically acclaimed drama Gilmore Girls, which was up against original programming on four other networks, including a like-targeted Britney Spears special on Fox, equaled the rating of its most-recent original episode in women 12-34 (2.1) and topped its previous original episode as well as two others in women 18-39 (1.7). Gilmore Girls, which was named best new drama by the Viewers for Quality Television, topped two original episodes in men 18-34, equaled three original episodes in men 12-34, topped one original episode and equaled two in women 12-34, topped two and tied two in adults 18-49 and beat five original episodes in men 18-49.

Gilmore Girls also scored year-to-year time-period gains in men 18-34 (+13%) and all 18-49 demos adults (+27%), women (+13%) and men (+43%) despite being compared to an original episode of POPULAR, which aired in the time period last season.

Charmed scored year-to-year gains in every adult demo. The WB's second-highest-rated series out-rated last year's equivalent week's episode in adults 18-34 (+11%), women 18-34 (+13%), men 18-34 (+17%), adults 18-49 (+6%), women 18-49 (+5%) and men 18-49 (+27%).

For the night, The WB improved +20% in men 18-34, +14% in adults 18-49, +5% in women 18-49 and +33% in men 18-49.
