Gilmore Girls star Jared Padalecki has been set for a trio of projects that includes the Fox remake of The Flight of the Phoenix.

Padalecki has begun shooting the Jeff Wadlow-directed indie Living the Life. The drama revolves around a group of boarding school seniors, one of whom spread an email virus hoax about a serial killer.

He then moves to the Chris Sarandon-directed Moonlight Drive, joining Shawn Ashmore and Joanna Gleason in the drama about teens who bury the victim of a car accident and reap the consequences.

Next he'll film a role in "Phoenix," the remake of the 1965 film about a stranded cargo plane that stars Dennis Quaid and Giovanni Ribisi.
