Writers of the series The Gilmore Girls have got a nasty challenge this fall: actress Melissa McCarthy, who plays the chubby, cheerful cook Sookie, has lost 35 kilograms in the last few months and is continuing to diet relentlessly.

Just to make this more complicated, her character is supposed to be pregnant.
