1.01 - Winter

[Heidi]

Winter: Fresh from a career high, Rory pays a visit to Stars Hollow.  Emily copes with Richard's death.  The inn keeps Lorelai busy as she ponders her future.

This isn't meant to be an all-encompassing review... just sharing a few initial thoughts to see if we can get a little discussion going. 

Things I loved:

• Rory's voice when she said, "Wrapped in plastic!"
• Paris.  Everything with Paris.
• Lorelai and Emily's fight.  (Great acting with cutting dialogue.)
• Luke's responses for the Wi-Fi password.
• The episode ending with "Here You Come Again" by Dolly Parton.

   Things I didn't love:

• Paul's forgettable backstory.
• Lorelai and Luke never had a real conversation about starting a family?
• Kirk and Ooober.

   Things I didn't see coming:

• Rory being with Paul... and Logan.  "Vicious Trollop" lipstick, anyone?  "Dirty Whore" was taken.  (I'm kidding.  Maybe.  Who knows.)

I dunno, if that's the attention span Rory has for her bfs, it would explain a lot! I kind of liked Paul, he reminded me of what's his name, Alex. And he seemed to have a lot of characteristics that her previous boyfriends lacked. I mean, clearly he's not the jealous type like Dean. And he's extremely considerate of her family and friends the way Jess wasn't. Plus long distance seems to be just fine with him. Vote for Paul, he's got enough long-term memory for the both of them!
