Summary: When the editor of the Yale newspaper tells Rory (Alexis Bledel) her articles are dull, she writes a scathing review of the Yale ballet and becomes the target of the vindictive lead ballerina (guest star Katherine Brunk). Jason (Chris Eigeman) impresses Lorelai (Lauren Graham) when he manipulates Emily (Kelly Bishop) into inviting him to Friday night dinner so he can continue his efforts to get Lorelai to go out with him. Surprised to see Nicole (Tricia O'Kelley) at the diner, Lorelai forces Luke (Scott Patterson) to admit that he and Nicole have put their divorce on hold and are dating again, and Lane (Keiko Agena) freaks out when her mother gives her a "marriage jug" to send to Dave in California.

Another great Paris line:  I've made a list of 26 enemies and have narrowed it down to 5.

I think the only reason Y Lorelai was impressed by the skills of Jason was because she was starting to fall for him

"Stand down, I repeat stand down".  Paris was so sure that the enemies she had made were the cause for the Die Jerk on the door.  I'm guessing she would never have suspected Rory as the cause.

This was a great epsoide.  Especially for Paris.  She has some of the funniest lines in the entire show.  I also love when she just asumes that the "Die, Jerk" on the door is about here.  She just asumes that Rory has no enemies.  I love Paris, her and Rory are such total oposites of each other. This eposide was really funny! But it would be nothing without Paris! She was soooooooooooooo funny! But if you ask me the dancer took it a little to far! Rory was just doing her job!! No need to write "Die Jerk" on the door and then yell at her in frot of everyone in the dining hall! But you know.......great eposide!!  Grin

Seven Super Seasons!

This show had some of the best dialogue of season 4.

Here is my favoite..
RORY: How was Atlantic City? Successful?...

RICHARD: It's a bit of a sore subject....

EMILY: Why have a simple sign if it can be in bright flashing neon? And the new slot machines? They don't just make obnoxious bell sounds anymore, they yell at you.
LORELAI: The slot machines were talking to you, Mom? Are you sure it wasn't just you?
RICHARD: Oh, they talk, I can verify that. One of them kept yelling, "wheel. . .of. . .fortune!" ...

RICHARD: It was actually quite a successful outing. Maybe not to our taste, but the clients loved it.
EMILY: The clients were too plastered to know better.
LORELAI: Kind of the point.
EMILY: Two of them stayed up all night and smelled like it.
RICHARD: That was a tad gross.
EMILY: One of them - a married man - had a long conversation with. . .how shall I put this delicately? A woman of less than reputable nature.
LORELAI: Hm. Do hookers charge to let you talk to them?
RORY: Depends on what they're doing when they're talking to you.
EMILY: Rory!
RORY: Sorry.
EMILY: I expect that from your mother, but not you. ...

EMILY: What's the next outing Jason has planned for your clients, Richard? Spring break in Cancún so you can do shots off people's bellies?
LORELAI: I'm uncomfortable hearing you say that.
RORY: Me, too.
RICHARD: I can assure you, Emily, that there are no belly shots in our future.
LORELAI: Although doing one off Dad's belly is okay. You're married. ...

I loved that dialogue at dinner about AC.. I agree with you Stars-n-Moons that this episode had some of the best dialogue of season 4.

I can't believe that Rory is such a harsh writer, but I actually love that.  I found it typical that Emily and Richard find the article so amusing.  I think Emily said something like, "The pen was your knife.." or something like that while Richard laughed.

And the ballerina was a psycho if you ask me.  It's one thing to be upset about an article because it hurts your production, but harassing the person who wrote the article is um..illegal.  Finding Rory's dorm to write "DIE JERK" is juvenile, and yelling at Rory in the dining hall is insane.  But hearing her say, "Bye Jerk, Die Jerk" was somewhat comical because she obviously wasn't going to get over Rory's article anytime soon.

I can't believe that Rory is such a harsh writer, but I actually love that.

You know, I can buy that she is.  She's normally non confrontational in real life -I mean unless she's fed up or angry- and it makes sense to me that her writing would be a counter to her face to face personality.  People online wouldn't believe how quiet and shy I am in real life.

Remember though in this episode she kept writing pieces that Doyle was turning down because they were too nice, or uninteresting or whatever.  In this episode, she was avoiding writing like that until Doyle pushed her to that point.  I dunno, it kind of surprises me but whatever
