I don't know if it was ever specifically covered, but I always assumed it was during her early days at the Independence when Rory was little.  I bet Mia or a maid taught her, with no cash on hand, it might have been cheaper for her to sew clothes than buy them.

This would be best placed in the Q&A thread, but I think I can answer your question.  Heidi, our webmaster, has been doing some cleaning up of the site and I think she might have disabled that option while tidying up.  I'm sure it will be back eventually, but if you have any concerns feel free to PM her about it OR post in her soapbox thread.

hey!  lol I just wanted to throw a little more into the answer.

They mentioned at one point how Lorelai couldn't sew at aLL!  But while she was at the Independance Inn with Rory she was forced to learn to make clothes.  lol, just wanted to add the begining Wink
