Marian, the Brazilians also have such long names. I had trouble remembering them. My name is quite short. It only contains 11 letters.

Fanny? That's less than two letters! My name only contains 7 letters. Short too. And my last name contains 4. Plus, I don't have a middle name.

That's a pretty short name for a Spanish speaking country. I don't have a middle name either. It's not very common in Germany.

my mother is half norwegian and that makes me a quarter norwegian
i would like to be able to speak it but it is not that easy, i once tried to learn the days of the week, but i forgot them again

and my second name is norwegian, but here nobody is familiar with it: it is Kari (but not Karin, it is without n)

thanks, i like the name too because here in Austria it is something special, whereas in Norway everybody knows the name, that is fun

well i like the fact that this forum is so international too.

i am actually: partly Austrian(i live here and i was born here), and partly British (my mother is half British and was raised there and my passport is british)
and parly norwegian as i said before, quite cool...

¡Gracias Marian! Well, I think we have longer names because of our both surnames (the first one is the surname of the father, and the second one is of the mother).
Also, catholic people often include the name María after any other name of one of Virgin's apparitions. In fact, my name is not so long after all, I've known people with three names and the two surnames  Cool
Well, that went way off-thread, sorry and thank you again for the welcome, Marian  Grin
It always goes off-thread. Yes, here catholics add María too.

I don't like middle names, I think one is enough. By  the way, about my last name. Is Katz a german word?

Well, I'm not german but that word sounds a lot like cat, so I looked it up and indeed, the german word for cat is "Katze", which is pretty similar to Katz, so maybe your last name is german  Smiley

Hey all:

My first posting on the GG forum  Cheesy

ABC Family just reran the pilot episode, and as the show concluded, Kit Pongetti's wonderful "My Little Corner of the World" faded up -- and saddened me immensely.   Cry  Before discovering Gilmore Girls -- yes, I'm a fairly new recruit, but I've done my fair share of watching reruns to catch up -- I was a devoted and devout fan of Ed, which ran for a mere four seasons on NBC.   Undecided

I just wanted to get the word out there about another great show and see if I could connect with any crazy fans like me Grin...and encourage anyone who's not currently in the know to get there by visiting www.stuckyville.com...unlike GG, which is amazingly available to anyone and everyone on DVD, Ed seasons remain inaccessible and unreleased.  Many people are experiencing serious Ed withdrawal and there's no end in sight!   Huh  It's so depressing!   Embarrassed

So, if you -- like me -- see a parallel between feel-good shows set in sickeningly cute small towns (yea Stars Hollow!)   Wink ...feel free to shout it out!
